Detailed Reviews
Called in here for lunch yesterday. From the minute we stepped into reception, it was obvious that social distancing and hygiene practices are being fully adhered to in this establishment. We only wanted a sustaining bowl of soup and had no problem getting a table in the conservatory. Again, social distancing meant that tables were quite far apart, which was very good. Menus were brought quickly and as soon as we saw Seafood Chowder there, we had to have it. A jug of fresh water was brought to our table whilst we waited. Service was very good and when the chowder arrived, we could see it was absolutely crammed full of all types of fish and vegetables. The consistency, colour and texture of the soup was second to none, but it was such a terrible pity that it was absolutely pickled with salt! We love chowder and it’s something we often order, but yesterday’s experience left us drinking water all evening, so that had spoiled it a bit on us. I had a little giggle to myself when I looked into the dish that had the foil-covered butter portions in it – underneath were three sachets of salt. Definitely not needed on this occasion! Value was good as was service, but please, whoever is making the chowder, just lay off the salt, there is no need to add it as there is already plenty in the fish! Enjoyed the hotel though, and before we departed for a walk in the grounds, we gave our name and contact details in at reception – all part of Covid-19 Tracking and Tracing – the ‘new normal’.

After a busy season returning to work in the hospitality industry, a two day getaway in The Boyne Valley Hotel & Country Club was all my friend and I needed to unwind. Greeted by Luiza at reception made an easy and streamlined check- in on Monday afternoon. Got to our twin room which was super comfy and relaxing. All bits and bobs individually packaged and sanitised made us feel safe and looked after during this pandemic.
Going down for dinner in the Bistro we were well looked after by Justyna and Jason. The food was gorgeous and the staff were all super friendly and accommodating. Getting back to the room we requested a bottle of water which Luiza promptly brought. Breakfast Tuesday morning was excellent. Check-out by Laura was lovely also on the Wednesday. Felt very welcome and rejuvenated after our stay! Thanks so much to all the staff who made our stay so excellent!

Got a 2 night midweek deal on escapes.ie which included breakfast and dinner (1 night). Staff were extremely friendly and the room was furnished to a high standard (some parts of the hotel need to be updated but it didn’t impact our stay at all).
Food was very good and covid precautions were dealt with to a high standard.
Good location (40 mins walk to drogheda town).

Hi Eoin, Thanks for choosing to stay with us. I'm glad you had a good time at the hotel. We are certainly a nice place to kick back and unwind away from the bustle of normal life. We are working on refurbishments at present to update certain areas of the hotel that need updating so you will for sure see more improvements if you return to us in the future. Best wishes, Damien Manager

We really relaxed and enjoyed our one night stay in the Boyne Valley Hotel. The grounds and rooms are lovely. The room we were in was very spacious and quiet. There was an internal door between the bedroom and bathroom that cuts out hallway noise....such a great idea! We slept really well. Food and service in bar and breakfast very good. I think they are in process of refurbishing stairwells. I left something behind in room on departure which they happily put in an envelope and posted to me....thank you! Will definitely return!

Attention!!! The swimming pool and Spa is closed. I spotted that on the website but unfortunately it was after I had booked the stay on booking.com. With two kids the reason we booked the hotel was for the pool so we were devo that it was closed. I had rang the hotel a few times enquiring about our stay at not once did anyone from reception tell me the pool was closed.
We got there late on Saturday evening and the kids were starving so the plan was to eat at the hotel and get an early night. On arrival I enquired about booking in for food only to be told that the restaurant was closed indefinitely and they were only serving breakfast. Absolute nightmare, had to order in food which took and hour and arrived with half our order and cold.
The next day we went out for the day (Funtasia water park and theme park are 7mins away). When I was leaving I asked to have our room cleaned. When we arrived back in the evening the food waste had been taken from the room and towels replaced bed made worse than my 7 year old makes his and no other type of tidy up was done. If I ask any mom the best thing about trips away is not having to do all the tidy up or to at least have your bed made.
The next day we were up and out by 8:30am and as I left I asked house keeping if they could clean our room and I also said it to reception just in case. We got back to hotel at 6:30pm and the room had not been touched and when I rang reception they said house keeping was gone. We had no clean towels, toilet paper, water and our bins still full.
On day two we needed an extra duvet and pillow for my sons bed and a duvet with no sheet/cover on it was sent up. He found a black hair on the duvet so the he wouldn’t let the blanket touch him without a sheet so I had to put a towel between him and the blanket to get him to feel more comfortable. When I asked the next day I was told by reception that they didn’t know where duvet covers were and gave us a bed sheet to put between him and the duvet.
The breakfast is also dismal so don’t be expecting much. Really disappointed with the stay to be honest and just wanted to make sure others knew what to expect.

One night stay in this hotel, new rooms are beautiful. Loved bathroom and water pressure strong in the shower which sometimes is not common.
Went to the Bar for a pint in the evening and bartender Jacob was amazing, all staff very nice with Manager Jason upfront.
this should be 4 star hotel with all amenities they have incl. Gym and pool.
Prices all probably the best in Drogheda however we stayed in February so that might be a reason why it was so good.
Hope will reopen soon and I will be able to come back for longer time. Hope Jacob and Jason will be there cuz the team in this hotel is absolutely 5 star if not higher.

We had two rooms booked and requested a baby cot in the one. Upon arrival, the cot was not in the room so we had to request it. It was delivered in it's bag, so we had to erect it. There was no bedding for the cot, which we then had to request again. The hotel is very nice with comfortable rooms, however the twin room had no-where in the bathroom for your toiletries (there's just a basin with no cupbaord or shelf) and the shower dripped all night, so we eventually had to put it on the floor to stop the noise. The hotel was undergoing renovations, and the pool was closed due to Covid. When we requested a second night, we were told we couldn't get the same rate as the first night, so we ended up staying elsewhere at a cheaper rate. The continental breakfast was adequate. The staff were very friendly and accommodating and the grounds are lovely.

This hotel is very tranquil and in a lovely location not too far from the airport. It's a short ride away from the train station which opens up a whole host of opportunities for visiting some lovely places. We booked a Deluxe Double room and it was very nice. The bed was very comfortable and we enjoyed our stay. Breakfast was enjoyable with a hot and cold selection. The staff were very friendly. The only negatives for me were that the bar wasn't open until 3pm so on arrival we couldn't enjoy a drink. The Deluxe Double didn't come with robes, the shower towels were too small and despite it being a sunflower shower, no shower caps etc were provided. We had a two-night stay but housekeeping did not visit so our bin was full and our bed unmade unless we took care of it ourselves. Little things, but they all make a difference.

We recently celebrated the amazing occasion of my parents 60th Wedding Anniversary.
From the beginning of planning this special day the attention to detail and communication between the Hotel and my mum who planned the day was second to none.
A big thank you to Damien Mc Daid who was with us every step of the way and who was always available to guide and help us with all the details and queries that were sent his way.
I have to say no request was too much for Damien who with all the team made it such a memorable occasion.
A very big thank you on the day to Hemant and all the team for who looked after all of us, these guys were so attentive, kind and nothing was too much for them.
Lets not forget of course the kitchen team , all the Chefs, the food was wonderful, tasty , hot and portions were extremely generous.
The hotel itself is fabulous, location perfect especially for visitors flying in to Dublin airport and the grounds are spectacular.
Excellent service from beginning to end, definitely the perfect location.
This was indeed a very special occasion and was made all the more special by ALL the team.
Thank you so much, we will back!

Enjoyed my stay here whilst visited a company on the Boyne Business Park which is a 10-15 minute drive away. Room was great, staff were great on front desk and also in the bar.
As Ireland was still in COVID restrictions it was bed and breakfast only with no evening meals available though the bar was open for drinks. Hotel couldn’t do enough in terms of giving out details of various food options externally or companies that would deliver like Apache pizza who I used on two occasions.
Hope to be back in the not too distant future.
