We wanted to stay somewhere outside Dublin on our last night before leaving Ireland and we wanted to be on the coast if possible. This area fit the bill and we did find it difficult to find a selection of B&Bs though many suggested Drogheda about 7kms away is chock-a-block with options. The owner was very kind and dropped her prices when it was determined that our planned 7.30 departure would not allow for a breakfast. We paid EUR 60 instead of EUR 70 for a double room with a view to the sea. Comfortable beds and a fairly large bathroom. We were able to walk on the beach after a 5-minute walk. Parking on the property and WIFI connections made our desires for the last evening fully met! We happened upon the property by virtue of scouting out the towns along the coast and I would recommend again to anyone looking for a no fuss first night in or last night out in Ireland

Nous avons louée les 3 chambres de Mary pour un long we a Drogheda entre amis (3 couples dont deux avec un enfant), nous avons recu un accueil charmant et chaleureux. La maison est tres accueillante, les chambres confortables, toutes equipees d'un lit double et d'un lit simple. Elle est proche de la mer a quelques minutes a pied. La vue sur la mer depuis le salon est fantastique. Mary prepare les petits dejeuners a la demande, copieux et excellents. Si nous revenons dans le coin nous reviendrons chez Mary!

Mary Mcavoy runs the Cross Garden, which is atop a hill, overlooking the the Irish Sea, which is a short walk away. It is just south of the fishing village of Clogherhead. Mary does not have a computer, so call her to schedule, and she'll put you in her "book". It is a lovely modern, but comfortable, invitingly warm, and spanking clean B&B, with incredible views of the Sea. It was quiet when we were there, and our room was quite sufficient. We did not have an ensuite room, but the bath was quite large, with lots of hot water. There are, however, ensuite rooms available. The breakfast room is downstairs, and her breakfasts are plenty to keep you going thru the morning. She offers the usual Irish breakfast, coffee, fruits, cereals, or porridge, if you wish. Her front lawn is filled with flowers, and the landscaping is delightfully well kept. Thanks to Mary's good and plentiful advice, we had a wonderful meal nearby, walks on the beach, and saw the surrounding countryside, away from the big cities. Delightful!!
