The Savoy Hotel stands out for its enviable central location, a hit among guests eager to explore nearby shops and attractions. While opinions on the hotel's value are mixed, with some concerns over room and amenity quality for the price, the service at The Savoy earns high marks for its professionalism and attentiveness.
Travelers revel in the hotel's vibrant atmosphere, especially in the bar area, although a few suggest a calmer musical backdrop. Room opinions vary, but cleanliness is a consistent highlight, contributing to the hotel's sophisticated charm.

On a recent visit to Limerick, my wife & I stayed at the Savoy. We had stayed there pre pandemic & we were very impressed with the quality of our accommodation, the friendliness of the staff & the dining facilities both in the bar & the beautiful Hamptons restaurant. We didn't expect that the same standards could be maintained, given all the Covid protocols that have to be adhered to. It was no surprise that every detail was perfect, with hand sanitising & even the remote control in our room wrapped & sanitised. The Savoy is a truly wonderful place to stay & the management are to be congratulated for the very high standards for guests. The central location means that most things are within walking distance & secure parking is available right across the street. All the staff are friendly & helpful & the ever vigilant CHRISTY, is a fund of knowledge on everything local. We really enjoyed our stay & on our next visit to Limerick or the surrounding area, we will look no further than the Savoy & we will have no hesitation in recommending it to others.

It was raining, it was grey when we arrived but the gloom lifted as soon as I was met by the charming reception staff who cheerily checked my booking and assigned my room. The lobby is bright and classically modern, the decor is clean, fresh and modern with a nod to art deco. My favourite mix! The rooms are spacious, stylishly decorated, again classically modern in colour scheme and fabrics. The desk is usable which is not always the case in business hotels and there are plenty of plug sockets and USB ports. The bed was comfortable and the breakfast was lovely. A charming, unhurried Irish service and I recommend the eggs Benedict!

We loved our rooms at the Savoy. The was a grocery store right across the street under the parking garage. The bathrooms were large with both a bath tub and shower. There was a lot of drawer space in the room. There was a pool, spa, and steam room. The pool was nice. The steam room was standard. The hot tub/spa could have been much warmer. It was nearly as cold as the pool. There is a small fridge in the room. There was no ice machine on the room floors, but the staff was very accommodating with bringing ice to the room.

Do not let them put you into room 213. It was very small, window was beside a rooftop bar area, so couldn't open the curtains. Showeroom was big and empty with the smallest shower in which I hit my elbow constantly off the handle in it. There was random round table stuck outside the bathroom without a chair and you could not properly pull the chair out to sit at the desk as it banged into the bed. Any 5 star hotel I have stayed in before would have a bath as well as a shower and also the room would be much Biggar, very disappointing.

We booked the junior suite option to enjoy what we expected a nice relaxing night in a nice room - however when we checked in at 3.30 pm ( check in time) we were told there was only 2 junior suites left ( room 204 and 208) the receptionists spoke with each other for a moment and decided to give us room 204. They said that there will be a little bit of noise in the room until about 11 o clock but kind of laughed it off saying that “we will be out on the town anyway so won’t effect ye”! This wasn’t our plan to begin with we wanted a nice quiet night in a hotel that we laid over 400€ for 1 night - however although we were told the noise would be until about 11 we tolerated that until the music from the wedding went on until 1.30am.. it was loud and the tv could not even over power the noise of the band and Dj playing at the wedding - why did the receptionist blatantly lie to us upon check in and say it would only be till 11pm and not 1.30am… we were fuming over this! We expected a lot more. The room itself was spacious , comfy bed but quite dirty with long hairs hanging out of the coffee machine and dried in toothpaste from other guests all over the bathroom sinks. Clearly not cleaned very well. We did go for a drink in the bar but the atmosphere was dry, dull and no vibe to it whatsoever, we also visited the leisure center which was more like a plunge pool with a very old Jacuzzi and steam room, we even asked the leisure center receptionist where the pool was as we couldn’t believe the pool we went to was the actual pool for the whole hotel. We were expecting something like an actual swimming pool and not a tiny little plunge pool. Overall our experience was not nice, I would not recommend this hotel to anyone that wants a nice relaxing weekend away as if you get the rooms we got, there will be no relaxing! Scoring this low due to the receptionists lying to us about noise times, dirty bedrooms and pathetic leisure center.

Definitely not a 5-star hotel by a long shot! The reception staff were ok but hardly informed us of anything relevant. When we later called to ask what the spa opening times were, they couldn't tell us (probably because the spa desk was unstaffed...). The spa itself has a mildewy little steam room, the pool is tiny (literally five metres long), the jacuzzi was turned off...then we asked for more water and the housekeeping person arrived 20 minutes later only with 1 bottle when we asked for 3, after asking for more, she parted only with 1 more bottle. The bathroom was full of mold and mildew and smelling like that. Definitely not a 5-star!

My husband and I chose Savoy for a family celebration on 10th March. It was not an 5 star experience was disappointing. Foyer is small and not welcoming, bar staff servicing the foyer confused our snack order & arrived with Athe wrong order after 35mins wait when alerted our correct order arrived. Our bedroom had a strong smell of a stale wet carpet. I alerted reception and was assured of correction but nothing happened. We had to endure the unacceptable smell with an open window during the night. I concluded there seems to be plenty staff they are lacking in training. I won’t be back

I arrived at the hotel ahead of check in time and soaked from the rain and was delighted to not only be given a room immediately but to be given a complimentary upgrade. Comfortable and cosy room with bathrobe and slippers, decent wifi, comfy bed and smart tv that you can cast to. Complimentary water in the room. Excellent location. But some tired features and lacking in finesse.
I booked far in advance and got a good deal, but would have been disappointed if I had paid full price.
This is not really a 5 star luxury hotel, this is a pretty decent 4 star. Some of the fixtures and fittings are aged but working (e.g. lounge fridge has no handles left, sink rust and tap wobbly), some have been updated poorly (e.g. frame around the lift does not meet the ceiling), or inelegantly (e.g. white pleather sofas with red cushions). Cleanliness was not up to the standard I would expect from a hotel of this class, there were stains on the side of the bed, limescale in the kettle, dust and grime/mould/watermarks in the shower, sticky tape marks on bathroom counter, and clothespin spring on the carpet indicating the room was not vacuumed, marks/stickiness on the counters and handles.
Breakfast was available for €22 pd at check-in.
Tips: If you are deciding between the executive room at the George and the deluxe room in the Savoy, the Savoy rooms are bigger, have a separate bath and shower, slippers and bathrobes, separate kettle and coffee machine, fridge. The George has nicer biscuits, complimentary chocolates, no kettle, no fridge, the optional breakfast includes a continental buffet.

Beyond disappointed with our stay at the Savoy. Main reason for staying was the advertised Spa facilities, which we found out were not available at check in. The pool facility was open, however this consisted of a small pool, one lounger and a steam room with plastic chairs and mould. The jacuzzi was unavailable due a refurbishment, which we were not told at time of booking nor at check in. I complained to the hotel manager (Sarah) who admitted their advertised facilities was not accurate as the spa was undergoing a refurb, and that she would update the marketing team. By way of compensation I was offered a discount off a future stay, which is no good to me as won't be visiting Limerick again. I certainly feel as though I have overpaid for facilities that were never going to be available and the complaint resolution procedure is poor. Don't waste your money and stay somewhere else!

My husband and I fancied a city break after a hectic Christmas and we were absolutely thrilled with our experience at the Savoy Hotel in Limerick. These are challenging times with a worldwide pandemic but even though the Savoy adheres to all government regulations, the staff and facilities make sure you feel like the pandemic is a minor inconvenience. Our room was spacious and quiet with sumptuous bed linen and a lovely bathroom. We ate in the Hampton restaurant where the food and service was exemplary. We had a nightcap in the hotel bar which had a wonderful, convivial atmosphere and superb service. Our breakfast really blew us away. It covered much more than the obligatory full Irish breakfast but had an extensive menu including choices of delicious Bircher muesli, fresh fruit and a wide selection of freshly squeezed juices and home baked pastries. Above all, the staff were outstanding: friendly with a nothing is too much trouble attitude and valet parking in Irish inclement weather! We will definitely be back.
