Overall very pleased with the Clayton in Limerick. I spent two nights here recently. The staff were all excellent and very accommodating. The room was clean and well maintained. I was able to eat at the grill downstairs and was pleased with the food as well and the service was very quick. Check in was also very quick. I know we will utilize this hotel often moving forward for work, so it is nice to know our employees will be staying in a nice hotel.

To whom it may concern, Despite a dreadful previous experience during the infamous Storm Emma ‘17 which resulted in me opting for the Savoy for regular subsequent visits I found myself back in the Clayton once again during lockdown March 2020. Check in was smooth and staff were pleasant. The visit was significantly improved per this first return and I’ve chose the Clayton three times since, and on this the 4th stay, jan 21-I feel obliged to highlight the reason why. There is a particular girl in the bar/restaurant whose pleasant appearance and warm smile makes you feel at ease instantly ,not withstanding this I noticed her rapport was not just with me but with all guests and she truly deserves commended for her ways. Lockdown as widely reported has been difficult for all but this young woman’s demeanour and friendly personable nature really makes a difference. More of the same from the Clayton and they won’t go wrong . I think her name is Emma but I’m sure if management reading they’ll already know who I mean. Bravo 👍

This hotel cannot be faulted, the staff are very welcoming and have great knowledge on the local area. Any request is fulfilled and is done so with the guests interest at the forefront. The hotels Covid 19 policies are excellent and we felt safe throughout our trip. The Bar and Grill Restaurant has great social distancing in place and the food was beautiful. Couldn't recommend the hotel enough, looking forward to another visit.

Staying here now with my family, Room 706, lovely room with view, Stayed here before and really looked forward to eating tonight but very very let down by food in particular hake dish, Young lad had fish n chips were fine as was daughters chicken n mash off kids menu, Partner had linguini which was very bland but had garlic bread do made it OK and she are most of it BUT The Hake dish I had was a disgrace to be fair, 3 pieces of potato gnocchi, half a roast shallot n a tiny piece of hake in a huge bowl which cost 16.95, I actually had it eaten when waitress returned with side of mash which I had to order to bulk it up, she asked why I had finished and I told her because it was basically a starter but that was it nothing done about it even though another waitress had said to me yeah it's a tiny dish, maybe if you don't have enough fish just take it off menu as it ruined our meal really, I'm a chef myself so I am well aware of portion size of which this dish should have been and also cost it was to make, left well over 100 euro here for dinner tonight but I feel this was handled very badly, have stayed many times and will again but I'm afraid our dining days are finished at Clayton,

Dear Richie, Thank you for staying with us recently and for taking the time to share your feedback. I'm very sorry to hear you were dissatisfied with your evening meal. Our feed back around our food offering is normal always very good. I will be sure to share your feed back with the kitchen team. Please be assured that we take all our guests feedback onboard as without it we wouldn't be in a position to learn and excel in everything we try to do. We hope you will give us a second chance and come back to our hotel very soon! Sincerely, Darren Harding General Manager Clayton Hotel Limerick

Stayed December 2020 on the Heroes package (really appreciate the Clayton+Maldron for this deal for frontline staff). It was a 1 night trip with my godmother so wasn’t exactly stressed on getting a nice hotel but this hotel exceeded all expectations.. The hotel itself inside is stunning, very warm relaxed feeling with a lovely fire right as you walk in the door and looked amazing with the Christmas decorations. Couldn’t get over the decor it was fab.. The guy who checked us in also happened to be the guy who rang me a few days prior asking did I want to book a table in the restaurant.. such a nice man & very informative too. Stayed in room 603 and the room itself was fab, a double and a single bed in the room, the double was huge, could fit 3 people in it. View from the room was amazing, we could have sat there all night watching the city. Dinner in the restaurant was so good, food was lovely, staff were very nice & again the view was to die for. Such a night atmosphere. Breakfast was great, my aunt couldn’t compliment it enough even though we only got cereal & pastries (she said it was the best coffee she ever had) again the view from breakfast was amazing. The only fault I had was the parking, we were in a jeep and it took us a while to get out the parking unit was very narrow but only a very minor thing but I was glad I hadn’t drove my own car :-) We’re already looking forward to coming back in the new year, so happy I found this gem!
