My recent stay at Limerick City Hotel in Ireland was quite enjoyable. The room was comfortable and clean providing a relaxing retreat after a day of sightseeing. The bathroom, equipped with a bath/shower, added to the convenience.
The hotel's prime location near the river offered a peaceful atmosphere without the chaos of heavy traffic. Additionally, the hotel's proximity to various restaurants and pubs allowed for diverse dining experiences, although the hotel's onsite restaurant was a delightful option as well.
During our two-night stay, we had the pleasure of watching the rugby match between South Africa and Scotland at the hotel's pub downstairs, enhancing our overall experience.
One minor inconvenience was the lack of onsite parking. However, the hotel provided a discount on nearby parking, making it a manageable situation.
In summary, Limerick City Hotel offers a comfortable stay in a prime location with a pleasant ambience. Clean rooms, diverse dining options, and entertaining amenities make it a solid choice for visitors exploring Limerick. I would certainly consider staying here again on my next visit to the city

We stayed at the Limerick City Hotel recently for one night. We booked two rooms 2 adults in one room/1 adult and two kids in another)

The cost of the room was amazing value, €119 for both rooms. We didnt include breakfast as we wanted to dine elsewhere.

Parking was €8 in a carpark near the hotel, however the entrance to hotel was closed at the time so we had quite a trek with cases. This was resolved upon check out!

Hotel was clean and modern. And any staff we dealt with were more than friendly.

Our rooms had such a lovely view over the river which was unexpected. We could watch the local rowing club from the window!

We booked last minute on a spontaneous trip to the city with partners parents. Parking in the Q park opposite the hotel, we then validated the ticket to get 50% discount (€9 overnight). Decor was tasteful and rooms were clean with usual amenities. Our room had a very small window which did not allow much air in but were able to request a fan which helped. The hotel is situated on the rivers edge and very close to the city centre, it was however quiet. We didn’t eat in the hotel as we didn’t take the breakfast option but menus looked extensive with something for everyone. Staff were friendly and helpful

Booked in here as was visiting family and friends but with covid did not want to stay in family home
You get what pay for - it was cheap and served a purpose of a bed but does not guarantee sleep ....

Beds comfortable but rooms not sound proof so hear everything and is very noisy and also Ona very noisy road and housekeeping opening door and coming in and waking us up at 10 am on the morning we checking out even though sign on door do not disturb 😡

Staff friendly
Good location
Good deal with car park at back of hotel

Had dinner with friends in the bar on the Friday - was very surprised by the quality of food it was excellent - on the Saturday we were going out for dinner and all we wanted was a pre dinner but they have a 12€ policy per person and no exceptions for guests even though spent over 200€ the night before and would have happily had wings for 9€ as per government regulations and a few drinks but this was not possible which really let the place down as the bar was EMPTY when we went in so they prefer no business from a resident than offering a compromise which was very disappointing . I’m all for the government restrictions etc but this is their policy to increase it to 12€instead of 9€

My girlfriend brought us away for a nights break for my birthday.
Hotel was grand central to everything and near to the Bus/Train stations.

On arrival checked inn was grand
The room
The Tv wasn't even working
And i gathered people had stayed in room before us
And at that the room wasn't fully cleaned properly as my girlfriend found the previous stayers Lingerie and underwear in the radiator.
These were said And reported to the reception.

Restaurant

Dinner in the restaurant, ordered steak, and all came out was chips and steak sauce.
No onions or onion rings as on menu as all i asked of was specifically no mushrooms as have reaction to them.

Credit to peter there was pleasure to have him to our table at times friendly and polite
He has great Personality and mannerly.

I also cant understand how the restaurant isn't complying with mandatory Covid regulations, ok the seating is perfect 2 metres apart but in all honesty since 10th of august all restaurant, retail, indoor facilities must wear face-masks, visors,
Its same for coffee shops as it it for restaurant.

We also brought that to the attention of a member of the floor staff.

In regards the room also it wasn't up to covid Standards too.

Over all wasn’t happy with my first experience of staying here but the renovation were grand.

We booked an executive room -when going to shower we realised only 1 large towel was provided -we unfortunately didn’t have time to ring and wait for another so improvised using the smaller towel and made do. Came back at 12am the main bedroom lights didn’t work (above bed and desk). We tried everything so the only light we had was the hallway light beside the bathroom. Due to the time of night we decided to ignore but disappointing as it’s meant to be one of their nicer room which was noted to us upon check in. Staff were lovely but the room overall was unimpressive.

My wife and myself stayed here for three nights not one fault could we say about this hotel. we were on the fith floor had a great view room was very clean and staff were very helpful nothing was a bother. We had dinner the three nights which was fantastic id highly recommended this hotel. The car parking is just behind the hotel it costs €8 for 24 hours with the help of the hotel stamping the car park card. The hotel is in a good central location to bunratty castle the cliffs of moher we would definitely stay here again thank you to all the staff .

Stayed here for one night on the ‘Pigsback’ special. And how many times were we reminded of this! In the restaurant the evening of our stay we were given the ‘special 2 course menu, after being reminded by the waiter you are on the ‘pigsback deal’-
fair enough as this was part of the deal. My husband wanted to change the pepperoni pizza for a ham one to be told— no you are on the pigsback and this can’t be changed! The main courses were taken back barely eaten, not once di anyone ask if everything was ok.
Breakfast was another story— got seated after giving room number to be asked do you want tea or coffee with your PIgsback ? A full breakfast was brought as per pigsback. Service at breakfast slow.
Would I stay here again, no especially not via Pigsback being treated as second class. On checkout not once were we asked was everything ok obviously not bothered.

Stayed in this hotel for a family night out with 3 other family members myself and my brother who were in one room and two cousins who were in another room. I checked in no problem and then when my cousins arrived they were told that they would have to pay a €100 deposit that they were told nothing about prior to this. This deposit was then charged to my card. I have yet to recieve this money after being told it would return to my card after 2 days. The next day when we checked out our cousins were still in their room getting ready when the receptionist said that she would send the manager up to check over the room before they had even left it which seemed quite rude. Also during our stay when we arrived back to the hotel that night the security man had got in the lift before us and went up to the first floor, when my cousins got out of the lift to go to their room we were all questioned as to where we were going. Never before have I been treated like this nor do expect to pay for a hotel and have somebody following me around watching where I am going and telling me where to go. Would not reccomend this hotel to anyone and feel that as we were younger guests aged between 19-25 we were constantly being watched as if we were going to do something.

We stayed overnight in the Limerick City hotel. Excellent value for money. Rooms comfortable and clean. Safe facilities at reception and car parking available in the Henry Street parking Q park, the hotel validated the parking ticket by 50%. You can enter the hotel by a rear door just beside this car park. Great good in Mc Gettigans bar/restaurant in the hotel, our room was room only but we were able to buy a super breakfast in the hotel for a very reasonable price. Great good, location and facilities.

1 minute walk directly across the road to Spar. Otherwise you can walk for at least 7 minutes to Dunnes Stores which would have a wider variety.
