At the Greenhills Hotel Conference & Leisure Centre, opinions are mixed. While the staff's friendliness and the inviting atmosphere, often complemented by live music, have won praise, guests have called into question the value for money, citing overpricing and inconsistent service. Room experiences vary, with commendations for cleanliness and space alongside gripes about maintenance and size. The amenities, including leisure facilities and a jacuzzi, are appreciated but not without concerns about their reliability and temperature. Overall, the hotel’s cleanliness and ambiance stand out positively for many guests.

Stayed on a two night special offer and was very impressed. The hotel is very comfortable, rooms spotless, staff friendly and approachable. There are loads of hand sanitisation points around, staff all wear masks and while we were eating dinner there was even someone going around in a hi viz jacket cleaning too. We felt very safe even when there were a good amount of people around.

All food was lovely and big portions but breakfast was the best. A three tier stand giving a continental selection as well as a big full Irish. We'll be back again no doubt. We really enjoyed it. Must mention Niall (?), David and Sophie, all very pleasant.

Room:
Very impressed with the 4K TV and access to Netflix
Bathroom had long and spacious shower
We found a lighting feature to create an ambiance around the room
Bed enormous and comfortable, plenty of pillows, blankets and towels

Restaurant:
Requested a table near the TV so we could watch the Euros, this was accommodated, a wide range available on the menu for both food and drink.
Food was brought out in a timely manner, presented well and tasted lovely.
Had the best seafood chowder and prawns ever there.

Pool:
Unfortunately even though we had a reservation we were left waiting at the front desk for ten minutes before anyone came out to let us in and give us towels. Way too many people in the pool and gym at once, didn't like that members of the public were able to walk in and use the same pool, was hoping for a more private relaxed experience. Pool was too shallow, couldn't swim without hitting our feet off the bottom, and whole pool was laned off so not enough room to swim as too many people taking up the lanes. Changing room facilities not great either

Overall 8/10
Room: [Bed, Bathroom, TV] 10/10
Restaurant: [Food quality, service, wait time, atmosphere] 10/10
Pool: a lot of issues with size, space, wait time to be let in, too many people, changing rooms, only plus was the steam room and jacuzzi was open

The hotel had ample free parking, was well presented and clean. It has a leisure center and although the Jacuzzi and sauna were closed due to Covid restrictions, the well provisioned gym and 20m pool were open, clean and in good order.
All of the staff were excellent throughout our stay and could not do enough for us to make us welcome and comfortable.
Particular mention must go to Megan on reception and Sophie in the breakfast room, who were a delight to be served by and were very helpful and also to Aaron in the leisure center who was also very pleasant and helpful.
The rooms were clean and nice, with a very large bed and good en-suite.
Breakfast was cooked fresh and to perfection, as was the steak dinner that we had.
The hotel's location is ideal if planning trips around Limerick city, Bunratty and Shannon, Foynes or even to Ennis and Clare a little further out.
I will be happy to return to this hotel again.

I had to stay in Limerick due to a family funeral . I must say credit due to the team at the greenhills hotel. It is the staff at reception, bar/ restaurant are a credit to the hotel.

Room was comfortable but seemed to be masked by a cheap paint job.
Bathroom would need to be updated, but it had hot water and served its purpose.
During these strange times the hotel has there covid protocol on facebook and on this platform.
Could I suggest putting a few stickers on the floor is not a protocol!
In the public bathrooms hand dryers are still in use, no hot water.
Carvery service in the restaurant in Bar in use?
During my stay there was 2 private functions on where it was free for all.
Staff sort of wearing face masks.Pulling them down to talk to people.
Little or no management around.
Close your doors until you can implement a safe place to stay.

We got a lovely welcome at check in, there was some sort of party going on when we arrived which made areas of hotel loud and busy, people were drinking and singing karaoke. The party got loud later into night and we were woke twice. Room appeared nice at the start but the pillow cases had a very off putting odour so we removed them and slept with towels over them. Lights did not work correctly in room and we looked out onto a dirty roof.. Bed was nice and soft.
Breakfast was a joke very slow service, served burnt toast after I had to ask for it and only enough for one person given, I asked for my brown toast and handed her back the burnt black toast.. Toast was snatched from my hand with No apologies just rudeness.. It was not busy when we went down, not once were we asked if we needed anything and we had to ask for butter and sauce.. Breakfast was not great considering the price of 10 euro each and tea and coffee were not included in this, we paid 25 euro .. One waitress complained of feeling hungover and going for a cure.. We checked out but did not say anything at the time as the lady was busy on the phone taking a booking. Overall not a great experience.

We stayed 2 nights, Friday & Saturday. When we arrived we got a nice welcome at reception and was pleasantly surprised with the decor of reception/bar area. The outside of the hotel doesn't do it justice. Our room was a nice size and clean, though the bathroom was dated and in need of updating. Also the TV only had Irish channels and the reception on some of the channels was not good. The sockets at the bedside were old style sockets so you could not plug in phone/laptop charger at beside either.
We booked for dinner on the Friday night and were allowed to bring a drink out to the smoking area which was a nice area to sit in. The food was very nice and the service was very good. The hotel was quiet on the Friday night so we felt comfortable going around the hotel but did not stay too long in the bar area.

On Saturday after breakfast we went out for the day and came back to find a private party in a room across from the smoking area and most of the party took over all seating in the smoking area. This made us feel very uncomfortable as they were not staying in the hotel and social distancing was not been adhered too (kids running around the place)
The bar/restaurant was very busy on Saturday night and we were glad we booked in the restaurant as there was not many people there. After we ate, we moved to a separate closed off area from the bar as there was no one else sitting there. Every table in the bar was full and we could see that some members of staff were removing masks to talk to people. There was even some staff with no masks on at all. We noticed numerous people at the bar counter ordering/receiving drinks at the bar even though we were told not to approach the bar at all.
We then went to the smoking area to have a cigarette to see another private party (in 2 separate rooms) was on with very no social distancing going on. This made us both very uncomfortable as there didn't seem to be any management on duty in the whole hotel to make sure the necessary measures were being adhered too. We finished our cigarette and went to bed as we did not feel safe.
Probably would be a nice hotel to go to during the week as it may be quieter but I think management need to look at how the hotel is being run and to implement the guidelines that government have recommended.

A last minute decision to visit the magnificent Hunt Museum brought myself and my partner to lovely Limerick. Booking a hotel last minute that had all amenities availab le and was not taking advantage of the Staycation situation was proving difficult until wehappened across Greenhills Conference and Leisure Centre on booking.com. The website looked impressive and the reviews were positive. On arrival we were greeted by the lovely Megan at reception. Our room was upstairs but when we mentioned that my partner has MS, she immediately allocated a ground floor room, which was spacious, comfortable, had a massive bed and easy access for anybody with mobility issues. All of the staff we encountered were super friendly and helpful, and nothing was too much trouble. Everyone worked within Covid Guidelines and were extremely professional. We were able to book in for a swim through their website which we enjoyed before a sumptuous breakfast. A really lovely stay, would highly recommend and I would definitely visit again.

I’m not one for leaving reviews but on this occasion I felt they deserved it. This is our second time staying here and we have not had a bad experience yet. We are on a little holiday break with our two kids for the Easter weekend and even though they are fully booked up they could still cater for all our needs. We needed some extra towels and fresh water during the night and they dropped them up to our room without any hesitation. The food was lovely and not at extortionate prices. The bar staff were so friendly especially the older gentleman who my 5 year old daughter remembered from the year previous. This year he even outdone himself by going above and beyond and out of his way to go get her colours and a colouring book from the shop up the road on his break, as they had ran out of them in the hotel due to being so busy. That is quality service at its finest. An absolute gentleman. Because of all of the above I know we will for be back again next year for sure. It’s our home away from home. 5*

We booked into the Greenhills last minute on route back from holidays down South. It was good value, we decided to go room only as there is a cafe we love in Limerick that we wanted to go to, so I can't comment on breakfast.
My partner used the gym, he had to book a slot due to Covid 19 but said it was a very good gym.
We ate dinner in the bar, this was the only part I was concerned about as it felt like "normal" times. Also the man serving us, who I must say was very helpful and pleasant, kept pulling his mask down to his chin so his nose and mouth were not covered. I am not sure what the policy is there re. drinking & Covid 19 guidelines, but I felt there were people drinking in the bar for quite some time after they had eaten (some I did not see eating at all but assume they had a meal before we arrived), it just made me feel a little uncomfortable as we had stayed in other hotels in the days before this and guidelines were very clear, we could have a drink while eating and for a short while after but not all evening...
Food was really good I must add.
With regards the room, bed was very big and comfy, we slept well. I would recommend asking for a room away from the road if you are a light sleeper though as traffic can be heard quite loudly (it didn't keep us awake just something to be noted!)
All in all a pleasant stay and we would stay again.

Great hotel, every staff member we met was friendly and helpful. The breakfast was beautiful, plenty of options. The kids loved the pancakes. Had dinner in the hotel 3 out of 4 evenings, good options to suit different tastes. the food was all beautiful, can recommend the steak sandwich and the vegetable curry in particular. Kids loved the kids penne bolognese. The lesiure center was lovely. nice circular kiddies pool the pools were a lovely temperature. We went swimming twice. We unfortunately has 2 mishaps with the kids and the hotel was brilliant. Firstly, our kids had gotten very used to the route to the reception and on our last full day my husband was going down to the reception to fix the room key as it had stopped working and the kids went with him. Our daughter ran ahead and at the same time our son stopped up, refusing to move. By the time my husband rounded the corner to the lift our 4 year old was in the lift and despite running the doors closed before he could get there. Nerve wracking time as he called the lift back and when he got down a minute later our daughter was with a member of reception who was great and reassured her. That same evening we had dinner downstairs. Our son, not quite 2 yet hates sitting still so we were going for walks while waiting for the food. He loves to run and he starting running and had a fall. He had a small cut to his head which was bleeding and we asked for some first aid materials. Staff were great, brought out ice wrapped in towel as well as cold water and material to clean him up and antiseptic wipes. A manager asked had we any calpol or neurofen for him and as it happens we had forgotten to pack any. I said we'd go out and get some once we were cleaned up but the manager sent a staff member out to get some, he said we'd enough to be doing without worrying about finding some late in the evening. They couldn't have been more helpful and it was really appreciated. I'd highly recommend this hotel for families. or anyone to be honest.

Not sure, however the room I had was with traditional bathtub with a fixed to wall shower. I would prefer a bath enclosure cubicle with a detachable shower head.
