Hotel room was perfect, newly renovated warm and cosy, the swimming pool was perfect and all the staff we interacted with from reception to dining room were welcoming and pleasant. The breakfast and dinner were excellent, very happy with our server Patrick R.
We recently stayed in the green hills hotel, ennis road, limerick. We had a family get together for special occasions. My family had five rooms booked in the hotel and when we entered the rooms they were all stinking and the bathrooms especially. The staff are rude, ignorant, un-trained and nasty. For example, we had a meal one night in the restaurant and a table reserved, when the group had all arrived and we went to sit down at the table there was another group there, when we said it to staff they suggested us to sit at a round table which did not seat the whole group and two people would have had to eat on their own, when we said this to them they told us to sit at a table reserved for other people in the BAR even though we had reserved for the restaurant, eventually staff threw together a table for us in the restaurant. At the meal the starters were freezing cold, when the mains came out the starters still hadn't been cleared from the table even though there were at least two waiters walking around aimlessly doing nothing that they could have cleared the table, myself and my uncle both ordered a side of chips with the mains and never got them, I ordered the "warm chocolate fudge cake and ice cream" when it arrived the WARM fudge cake was colder than the ice cream and had clearly been taken straight from a fridge and thrown on a plate, I also asked for a water at the bar and finally received it nearly three hours later. When we used the pool the same smell that was in the rooms was in the pool and when you stood at the bar you could get it too so its clearly a problem with the drains. Another night I had my phone on the table in front of me, a waiter came to clear some of the glasses (that was about the only time they cleared tables) and when I picked up my phone to check it the waiter said to me "eh, I'm not gonna take it" with an attitude, just one example of their rudeness. At breakfast we could clearly hear three waitresses taking badly and nastily about Us because one of my family members came down a few minutes after us. At check out we complained to the manager and she seemed completely oblivious to what we were saying and took no notice of us. I could go on for hours about the hotel but all in all its the worst hotel I've ever stayed in and would definitely not recommend to anyone, the hotels condition is disgusting, the staff are apauling and the service is terrible. I wouldn't even say it deserves one star, would not recommend to anyone.…
Just back from a 2 night stay in this hotel would not recommend at all. We had 5 rooms booked to celebrate 2 family birthdays and an anniversary. When we checked in and got to our rooms it was clear there a fowl smell in a number of the rooms. We went to the bar for a bite to eat and coffee to be met with rude staff who found it appropriate to pass smart sarcastic comments when taking our order. There were a number of people who ordered food after us and received their food before us when we eventually received our food the tea and coffee weren’t brought out and we had to ask for them. On Saturday night we had a table reserved in the restaurant for 10 people for 8pm which had also been clarified by management on Friday evening only to be told another party had been given our table and we were being moved to the bar this was eventually rectified and a new table laid for us only for the staff to be very slow. Once our starter was brought out it was clear they weren’t fresh as I ordered the chicken and mushroom voluvant for the chicken to be cold. Staff then brought out our main course while the finished starter was still on the table we then had to ask for clean cutlery. It was quite clear the staff were not trained correctly as when they did bring this out after being asked twice they proceeded to lean over us and our food to lay this on the table. At breakfast this morning we were waiting again for our orders to be taken 20 minutes after being seated and this was after us asking them could we order. Again this was met by rudeness as after they did take our order they proceeded to approach the table on 4 different occasions with orders for other people in the restaurant and then spoke rudely about us in earshot. When we returned to our rooms between 10:30 and 11am we had to get our cards reactivated even though checkout was not til 12pm Overall a very disappointing stay and not a 4 star hotel in my opinion at all would not recommend to anyone…
Lovely staff and really nice hotel. My room was warm and comfortable, with very good wifi. Also liked that it had a walk in shower - rather than a shower over a bath (which you have to climb in / out of !).
I attended a Christmas event at The Greenhills Hotel last week it was excellent from the decor food and especially the service the staff were brilliant everything was perfect would highly recommend this hotel
I had my wedding in the greenhills on the 29th of December. I highly recommend anyone who's thinking of getting married to deal with Daphne, Natasha and David. They went above and beyond to make our day so special. The room was decorated to the highest standard and the food was just second to none. The service by the table staff Tony and all the other lads was fantastic and all the guests were eating at nearly the same time. It's a day we will never forget. Thank you The Greenhills Hotel. From Eimear and Declan.
Our daughter Eimear and her fiancée Declan held their wedding in this Hotel and from the first contact on their booking date to their check out was a wonderful experience. The staff were exceptional under the guidance of Daphne. Nothing was a problem to them and any request made was immediately granted. The food and service was of the highest quality from the wedding meal to the delicious eggs Benedict for breakfast with an extensive choice. The rooms were attractive and comfortable. Overall it was without doubt a great experience. Thank you Green hills hotel.
We stayed at your fabulous hotel last weekend. There was a group of 8 ladies. We went on a pre Christmas shopping trip to Limerick and decided to make a night off it and choose to stay in Greenhills. What a wise decision. The rooms are beautiful and the beds are really comfortable. The bar area is lovely and the staff were excellent. All the public areas ie lounges and toilets were impeccable and decorated so nicely for Christmas. We ate in the dining room on Saturday night and all of us had something different and each dish was delicious. Tony our waiter was superb, he took great care of us and recommended some lovely wines . Breakfast was buffet style and again the choices were excellent and delicious. We had buffet lunch on Sunday, again excellent. We could not fault a thing in this hotel and look forward to going back again. Well done to management and all the staff . Wishing you all a Merry Christmas 🎄…
Receptionists were unprofesional, barman in restaurant was vulgar and lazy, very noisy, the swimming pool was smelly, without ventilation. So much for such 4 stars hotel. Not suitable for more than one weekend, 2 - 3 days, for one month it is the torture chamber.
Myself and my Fiance stayed here for two nights for his birthda. The food was absolutely amazing couldn't recommend it enough. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The beer is also very good, no hangover which is always a bonus. We will most definitely be staying here again
