Booked the entire place at the start of March for my brothers Stag. I cannot recommend Ballyhoura hostel enough. From the moment we entered this beautiful premises our hosts Seamus and Teresa made us feel so welcome. Advised of places to eat and drink for the weekend and they were full of local knowledge. Wonderful hosts who are great craic. We opted to have food cooked for us in the hostel. Seamus made us a Full Irish Breakfast each morning and we had a delicious curry on Friday night followed by a very tasty roast beef dinner on the Saturday evening. All top notch. Don't be fooled by the name this is no regular hostel, more like a five star hotel. With beautiful wooden furniture dotted throughout this immaculately clean premises, it was a joy to stay here. Dining room is massive and the sitting room has a well stocked open fire for those cold evenings. Beds are super comfy, great after a hard day exploring the picturesque Limerick countryside. Would highly recommend staying here as a large group. You will not be disappointed …
excellent location in small village near to shops and cafes/pubs and short drive from Ballyhoura mountain bike as well as wild dog clay pidgeon shooting. very very clean with well kitted out dining, living, reception and kitchen areas. great drying room and some outdoor space for sitting the evening sun. Seamus and Theresa very helpful, friendly, informed and accommodating of requests. they even posted on some items our kids left behind.
Ballyhoura Hostel is fabulous, extremely clean, the bed is so comfy, the sitting room is very relaxing and inviting. Teresa and Séamus went above and beyond for our group and made a special effort with the delicious food. I would highly recommend staying here, you will not be disappointed.
Actually we were on the way to Galway but it was to far. So we just looked up at the network and found that Ballyhoura Luxury Hostel. Teresa and Saémus were amazing! They just welcomed us, told us a nice viewing point and a place to have a dinner and a Guinness. The furnish is absolutely lovely and the beds very cozy! You gave to bring something to eat for your own but there is also a little bit free food in the kitchen. In the evening Shames gave us a lot of information for places to visit the next days. All in all, if I come back to Ireland, I will definitely come back to Teresa and Saémus!
Teresa and Séamus were very accommodating and welcoming. Teresa's ability to remember all our names was impressive and a nice touch. Food was lovely and facilities were very clean and modern. Customer service was top notch overall. Continued success.
The place is pristine clean and very warm- something I always worry about when going to a new place. I had a great experience with this hostel. The showers, kitchen and the dorms were unbelievably clean, the bed was very comfortable and we were made feel very welcome and at home:)
This is my fifth or sixth visit to this fabulous hostel and it has never yet failed to delight me. The welcome from Teresa and Séamus is warm and genuine, the handcrafted wood furniture is exquisite, the roaring fire is welcoming, the beds are snug and comfy, the showers are hot and powerful and the cooked breakfast is worth it's weight in gold! Thanks guys, until we meet again, Máire
For the second year running the pink ladies hockey club went to Ballyhoura luxury hostel for their annual end of season weekend away. It is unusual for our team to choose the same place 2 years in a row but our experience was so positive from the previous year, and we felt so welcomed not to mention the facilities were perfect!! Teresa and Seamus were very welcoming, were there if we needed them, yet gave the group their own space so had the best of both worlds! The bedroom accommodation was to a very high standard with extremely comfy beds. The showers were perfect and always had hot water. The kitchen has everything you need with 2 cookers and an extremely large fridge. The dining area is a large area with plenty of seating. Our group was approx 30 and there was plenty of room for us to dine together. A separate large sitting room with a big open fire, a tv and super comfy couches allowed for cozy nights to play with either the board games they provided or ones we brought ourselves. I thought it was a nice touch that they provide musical instruments there too (2 guitars and a piano). Overall I can’t praise this place enough. I would happily come back with or without a large group as I know they have a double room now to rent too if I was to just visit with my partner. Ballyhoura has great horse riding, mountain biking, clay pigeon shooting and mountain walks near by, and it’s a beautiful part of the country. Would highly recommend Ballyhoura luxury hostel and imagine they have plenty of repeat visitors because the hospitality is top notch.…
The hostel is extremely comfortable and clean, and the owners Teresa and Séamus are very sound. Plenty of space in the kitchen, and well-stocked with boardgames! Will hopefully stay again sooner rather than later.
It's called luxury and it's true. Best hostel I think I've ever stayed in, definitely the comfiest beds anyway! It was so comfortable and we were very well looked after. Teresa and Séamus were great hosts
