Such a lovely, warm welcome from the team on reception who then directed us to their secure car park, which can hold approx 8 cars and is just around the corner from the hotel. Each room is named and has a beautiful and unique door - a lovely representation of the beautiful doors found all through the country. The spacious room featured a huge, and very comfortable bed, with lovely soft linens, and there was also a seating area. The bathroom was well lit and a good size, with a deep bath and a large shower unit also. There was also some homemade bath salts which smelled fantastic and were a welcome relief to some tired limbs after a day spent exploring. The breakfast was in the 1st floor restaurant and had a vast selection of foods , including lashings of porridge and delicious cooked breakfasts on offer. We enjoyed an evening meal in the hotel bar, where the food and service were excellent. I couldn't fault this hotel in any way - location, furnishings, cleanliness and hospitality are all 5 star. Would highly recommend and would return in a heartbeat.

Had a mid week magic special with Sarah today. She was extremely professional, bubbly and knowledgeable of her products. She put me at ease from the very start and was extremely informative of the products and explained to me how beneficial to me they would be. I asked for a medium strength massage and she delivered on this and made me feel so comfortable that at anytime I could interrupt her if I felt the pressure wasn't right for me, but there was no need. She was absolutely brilliant. The Spa was spotless and she wore her facemask throughout the treatment which made me feel very safe. I was refreshed, radiant and ready to face the world again after my treatment. Thanks a million. Would definitely recommend.

From the moment we stepped foot in the Georgian foyer of the fabulous period house of number one Pery square we were treated like royalty. The front desk staff were attentive, friendly and with lots of advice and warm welcomes. Our period room over looking the street and the terraced beer garden was like stepping back in time with large sash windows and fabulous period features. The shower was hard to get out of (it was good) and the bed was enormous. We stayed 2 nights and availed of the weekday package with evening meal and picnic. The meal in the long room was delicious with great locally produced selections and tasty desserts. The cocktails also went down nicely. We availed of the spa attached to the hotel and we floated back to our room having indulged in some pampering treatments. Picnic we took home with us and travelled to Two mile gate another place I would recommend. Definitely will be back. A big thanks to all the wonderful staff who made our stay feel special. Do check it out, go see the hidden gems of limerick and go for the eggs Benedict you will not be disappointed or a cocktail or two in the gorgeous Long room

We have stayed in almost all of the Hotels in Limerick City over the past number of years. But what a " breath of fresh air " this hotel is. This establishment is a 5 star hotel trapped on a 4 star body.. From start to finish our experience was fantastic, The friendly welcome, and smiling faces from the staff who were happy to engage in conversation . We booked in early, parked our car in a secure high walled car park with electric gates (no tiny spaces here - plenty of space to park your car and exit through the doors as opposed through the sunroof as is the case in most hotel car parks as the spaces are way too small.) When we returned a short time later our bags had been dispatched to our bedroom and our coats hung neatly in the wardrobes. The room was boutiquey, spotlessly clean and attention to detail, second to none. We enjoyed cocktails in the bar and the Bar Staff could not have been more helpful, offering to make cocktails that did not appear on the menu.
We had amazing sleep after returning from our meal in the city and the bed was a life sized marshmallow of comyiness! We slept like logs and were awoken to bird song, such is the location of 1 Pery Square with lots of trees and parks, Our breakfast was also fantastic, cooked to perfection in full view of the breakfast room. If you haven't stayed here, book it now, you will not be disappointed. Thank you to Julia and all the staff who made our short stay so enjoyable , we will return..

My wife and I stayed for two nights at this hotel recently.

We arrived early and were greeted with great enthusiasm and allowed to park in the residents car park early whilst we went and got some lunch.

We then had a spa experience at the hotel that was second to none. We felt completely relaxed afterwards and this was a great start to our weekend.

We had dinner in the long room in the evening and a few drinks with this as well. The staff we all so friendly and there was no rush for us to be away from the table at all. The food was unbelievable, the chips in particular are definitely the best I have ever had still don't know how the chef got them so crispy.

The following day we were heading to the Aran islands for the day so we were leaving too early for breakfast. The hotel arranged for a selection of pastries and tea and coffee for us to takeaway with us so we weren't hunting for a breakfast,

The room was very spacious and the bathroom was great to have a bath and shower in as well.

The whole stay the staff went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable and relaxing. They were all so friendly and always happy to have a chat when speaking with them and asking us about our day.

The breakfast after the second evening was again top quality. There was a granola and yogurt pot to start with which was delicious, and as well as my wife and I having the full irish breakfast we were also allowed to have a plate of the French toast to try which was absolutely divine.

I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a relaxing break with great food and can only thank the staff at the hotel for making our stay so great. We will be returning!

1 Pery Square has always been my favourite place to stay in Limerick, mainly because of the ambience and decor, but on my most recent stay they knocked it out of the park with service and helpfulness. I needed access to excellent wifi and a quiet room for a webinar, and despite only letting the hotel know the day before, I was correctly informed that the broadband coverage was excellent, and I was given the (beautiful) boardroom to work from.

The Townhouse Suite was booked but camp beds were set up for the kids in the Lady Barrington room and we all came away rested and relaxed. Unfortunately we didn't have the opportunity to have dinner this time as there are some real gems in the wine list, but breakfast ticked all the boxes and anything we asked for was available. Full marks!

A very stylish building in a great location for the city. The staff we met were all delightful and a pleasure to know. However, just like Terry Wogan's statue not all is as it seems on closer inspection.
We felt that our room needed a complete redesign as it was not fully fit for purpose.
1 The most accessible electrical sockets were low down near the room door, perhaps more suited to a vacuum cleaner than 21st century mobile devices.

2 The TV was positioned so that one had to be a bit of a contortionist in order to view. Additionally the heating controls ,if needed, along with two other sockets were hiding on the wall behind the TV.

3 There was little usable space to use as either desk or dressing table.

4 The windows only opened in a slant allowing a smallish opening at the top, not the best height for bringing in cold air. Lack of ventilation is compounded by fact room opens out onto windowless corridor.

5 Tea/coffee (hospitality) trays not provided. Yes you could phone down for refreshments , we tried and it worked but for the price, one should surely be given the choice?

There is a beautiful restaurant space and quality products are offered. However, for our taste there was just too much fuss. We ordered some Burren lamb which should have been a highlight but there were so many flavours arranged, smeared, blobbed onto the plate that the "star" was not allowed to shine.

Breakfast felt like a visit to "Granny", food was wholesome but you were more or less told what you were having. Not a great morning experience. I was so irritated that on our second morning I swerved breakfast completely.

In summary, nice building, nice location, nice people. Would I return, not a chance, sorry !

Dear Hamish42 Thanks you for choosing to stay at No.1 Pery Square Hotel and Spa "Our Country House in the City" Thank you also for taking the time to write and review and your stay with us, post visit. As we had not got the critical feedback direct at desk, by phone email or direct contact , it is difficult to fully explore certain areas of review . Though I can see by wording, and 3 circle rating, that overall you enjoyed your visit to the Georgian Quarter. I understand you stayed in one of our individually named Club Style bedrooms, designed for comfort and with individual style in mind, in Irish Writer named bedrooms. All of our menus are seasonal in choices offered from our menus, and created by our head chef and his team. I am glad to see you enjoyed the location, and heritage building, as well as staff you met on your trip. We would be very happy to welcome you back to stay with us again for a future visit. Enjoy the rest of your trip

I really love this 1830s Georgian building and Im happy to report that it was one of the best facials Ive ever had!! I opted for a 75 minute Anti-Ageing Restorative Facial. My fabulous masseuse Alannah(the nicest girl ever!),used a mixture of seaweed & botanical ingredients on my face and while it was soaking in,she gave me a hot oil head massage and arm massage. I thought id died and gone to heaven. It was so hard to get off the table after all that pampering. I used the thermal suite for an hour before my treatment, where they have a Snooze room with incorporated headphones playing soothing music,a Herbal Cocoon room,an Aroma Steam room,Sauna,Foot baths and mist showers.

We stayed in Limerick during a recent road trip around Ireland and No1 Pery Square was fantastic. The 'Period Rooms' are spacious and well decorated and the Hotel itself was only a short walk from most of the main attractions on offer in Limerick. The staff were friendly throughout our stay. The only thing to be aware of is that the entrance to the car park down a street opposite the hotel is a little narrow so some manoeuvring may be required.

This is Limericks Hidden treasure for sure..
From the moment we stepped in the door we were treated with friendly caring service which followed through for our entire stay.
Our room was a beautiful with old period decor which overlooked the park across the street. The Bed was super comfortable.
We had afternoon tea in the 1st floor drawing room which was very graceful and elegant the service we got from Rosin was exceptional. After a long walk we had dinner booked in the restaurant which again was very well presented and served and was a top class meal.
The following morning we had a treatment booked at the Spa which again was made special by the friendly professional service on offer.
All in all we had an amazing mini break that felt like a long one as we were so well looked after form start to finish so I would very strongly recommend the No 1 Perry for an experience in Value Class and Service..
To the Management and staff take a bow and a big Thank you.
Paul
