Good points:
Very spacious room, nice and clean, nice big bathroom. The room had a clean seal which gives you confidence of it being clean.
Our room had a nice view of a garden (however this garden holds the smoking area which was very noisy at night)
Reception staff were very helpful.
Lots of underground parking.
It’s near enough the city, €8 taxi journey to the city which is good.
It was nice and quiet on our floor, minimal noise outside our room which is always a positive.

Not so good points:
You cant access the underground carpark until after check in, you’ve to park in Aldi prior to check in and then move your car if you wish. The area is a little rough so I’d advise moving the car down.
You cant eat a hot breakfast in your room, you must eat in the restaurant which seems odd during covid, we prefer to minimise our contacts yet we were forced into mixing (we did ask to eat in our room but we were told no). The only room breakfast available is a cold breakfast in a bag.
Mask wearing was not enforced in common areas in the restaurant which was off putting, people were handling slices of bread and then not taking them, this should not be self service. Staff in the kitchen were not wearing masks despite working very close together.
Household knocked into us at 11am to check we were awake, very unnecessary, we were very aware of the 12pm check out time.

Over all it was fine, the 3 star rating is definitely obvious but I would stay here again. We needed a room for 1 night and it was absolutely fine for what we needed. Overall a good solid hotel.

Stayed here while searching for accommodation in Limerick, for about a month (perhaps not the cheapest choice for that). Was perfectly satisfied! The staff is reasonable and relatively easy to communicate with, the rooms are clean when you asked them to be cleaned. Everything is up to standard.

My room's sink was a little broken but it didn't cause any quality of life issues, as you can easily ask them to fix it and they do later in the day. As someone who came from a very quiet place, I was not used to the level of noise present, but it never woke me up while I was sleeping. The food is good quality, though don't eat at the hotel daily if you're looking to save money. The hot chocolate was bitter is perhaps the only real negative thing about it.

Overall, I do not regret my stay and I would not warn anyone against staying here. If you're looking for somewhere to stay and this hotel caught your eye, I say go for it.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. Flawless there.
However the hotel was really very dirty, especially in the pool area. Reception and rooms were fine, not spectacularly clean but definitely passable. However the pool area was not passable, even for a 3 star hotel.
Also even though it was 3 star, it was quite expensive, we paid 250 per room per night. Even in the current climate, this is a 150 to 180 eur per room type hotel.
The area around the hotel is mixed. There is a halting site directly opposite the front door of the hotel. Obviously the hotel can do nothing about this, but just an FYI. But the thing they can do something about is the poor, which was very dirty.

A communist dictatorial heating regim of heating from 6-7 pm, 8-9 pm and 2-3 am when outside was 4 degrees, window in the teas large opened.
Phone in the room not working.
I went to the receptionist to boost the heating at 6 pm, after my fist 7:17 pm heating was off, called from my mobile phone to boost heating. Called again at 21:51 pm, 1 am, 1:31 am, 1:58 am .. heating automatically started at 2 am, and stopped at 3 am, 4 degrees outside, window was opened the whole day till 6 pm when I checked in.
Every time I called the receptionist said the he will boos the heating in a minute; he lied to me, heating started automatically at 2 am as it is booked by management. I believe the manager didn’t have to pay 154€ for a icy cold room who had windows open for the whole day and heating from 18:33-19, 20- 21 and 2-3 am .
Ceausescu used to heat block apartments 2 hrs/ night, Maldron heats 3 hrs/ night.
They should put a sign: Ceausecu dictates here.

Myself and partner went to this hotel twice in a space of just over a week. At start all seemed ok. But when we proceeded to our we saw blood stains on the duvet cover and hairs and like the bed had not being dressed. We took pictures and went to reception with it I told the receptionist she asked me to email the photos to her which I did. She called the manager I explained he apologised and gave us two free drinks at the bar plus to move rooms. Got to the second room it was the same hairs in the bed not dressed right looked thrown together. Went back downstairs explained again. Manager went up to check he agreed so he move us for a third time which was crazy to be honest. The next morning the manager on asked was everything ok she knew the situation she said they would sort it and have a look into it thats fine .

Second stay which was only last week. Checked in fine got the room when got the room we noticed the pillow had a mark on them like drool or something on the top pillow but also hairs again. Downstairs explained the manager he said sorry and that it is embarrassing we got moved room and a 2 dinners for free baring in mind prob be 30 euro in total. We changed room we were still annoyed about it so my partner confronted the manager we asked could we have a refund or even some of the money back considering this happened before . He said its above his pay grade and to speak to the manager in the morning. Next morning came which was last friday went to meet the morning manager explained the situation. The manager advised they checked the room and the towel in the bathroom was covered in brown stuff and tried to say we wrecked the towel and what was on it. Which I think I was cheeky. Seen as we had not even gone near the bathroom.

Its their hotel the towels the beds and how clean they are is on them and whoever cleans the sheets. The first visit they said they would sort it but clearly nothing had changed . Technically we should have being going a full refund for the carry on but they only gave 30% of the amount we paid back which is ok but not great not even half the money. They had excuses about being busy and under pressure. Just sort the issue in the first place like they said. We were paying guest at the end of the day.

Within that a full refund should have being given without question first stay was bad and the second stay a disaster. Will not be returning ! Full of excuses they turn the situation back on us about what was on the towels even when it had nothing to do with us.

At the ned of end of it the manager that morning did not even say sorry.

Word of advice Avoid

My girlfriend and I encountered an extremely distressing experience at The Maldron Hotel Limerick on the 11th of February 2024.

During our stay, we were subjected to a harrowing domestic altercation that lasted from midnight until 4 am on Sunday morning. The disturbance, originating from the room adjacent to ours, involved a middle-aged couple engaged in a heated argument characterised by slapping, thumping, and furniture being violently thrown about. Despite our repeated calls to the front desk, beginning at approximately 1 am and again at 2 am, there was minimal effort made to address the situation effectively.

It wasn't until 4 am, after enduring hours of fear and uncertainty for our safety, that security finally intervened and forcibly removed the couple from the premises. The lack of prompt and adequate response from the hotel staff during such a terrifying ordeal left us feeling vulnerable and utterly disappointed in the level of service provided by The Maldron Hotel.

Following the incident, I respectfully brought the matter to the attention of the manager, who initially apologised and offered a token gesture of a complimentary meal, which hardly seemed appropriate given the severity of our experience. Subsequently, she offered a refund of €50, which, in hindsight, is grossly inadequate considering the circumstances.

I would not recommend.

Arrived to the Maldron Limerick after a long day of travel to be told that I wasn't allowed to enter my hotel room until payment was made. Firstly, any hotel I've ever been in has asked for payment on departure. Secondly, this was a booking made by a work colleague and her card had been put down on the reservation. I ended up having to wait over an hour for my colleague to arrive to gain access to my room. Not so much as offered a glass of water as I waited. Sitting on hard chairs in the lobby.

We paid over €300 for two nights of accommodation. I was exhausted. Staff showed no interest in providing any kind of welcome or support. In fact it seemed as though the young woman working on Wednesday 26 June afternoon quite enjoyed telling me about hotel policy and refusing my entrance to the room. The way I was spoken to was snooty, suspicious and unhelpful.

Many thanks however to the staff in the hotel restaurant who were accommodating and friendly when my colleague and I ate dinner. Note: I would have preferred not to eat in the hotel after my poor experience but there aren't many other options in the vicinity.

Rooms were fine - clean and with good showers. However the behaviour and rigidity of the reception staff means I won't be back and nor will the organisation I work for stay here again.

Always look forward to staying at this hotel, from the moment you walk in you feel welcomed. Staff are very accommodating, especially Noel in the bar, 10 out of 10 for service. Good selection of food on menu and satisfying. Recommend the hotel to those looking for leisure.

Has to be the poorest value in a long time. Ordered the featherblade €24.50 and what came out was a sliver of beef. I've heard of shrinkflation but this is ridiculous. Very hard to find any value on the menu of mostly deep fried food. Seems hotels are racing to the bottom.

The breakfast and the dinner was lovely
Restaurant staff were very nice and couldn’t be more helpful.
The reception staff on check in around 5 o’clock seemed like they didn’t know what they were doing.
The price of the room jumped nearly €200 on top of what was agreed due to the Ed Sheeran concert.
They were very rude in the phone when I rang to ask about this.
Would not stay here again
