Brought two dogs and we were welcomed and accommodated as much or more as any guest could expect. Eimer is sweet and generous and a good conversationalist, and the breakfast is tasty to boot. The location isn't to be beat, right in the center of beautiful downtown kilkenny next to a river by an art museum and a little parklet. Would stay again any time.

We booked for this B&B following tripadvisor's ratings, and we were very glad we did. When we arrived, no one answered the door, but as soon as we called the number provided the lady came out to let us in and showed us the B&B and our room. We asked for advice on the restaurants and the hikes, and she provided a few pamphlets and loads of information. The room was quite big with a double bed and a single bed. The bedroom was ensuit, and the bathroom was pretty basic, but enough for what we were looking for. There was a tv, a table for the make up and a closet. The room was very fresh, but it kept warm at night time. The breakfast was substantial, there was a menu on the table, and you can choose from full irish breakfast to some diverse cereals and nice breakfast buns. They offered to clean our bedroom, but we decided that there was no need. Finally, the location was very good, it was close to the city centre and also provided an easy exit towards the rural area for the hikes.

I stayed here some time ago. Initially I was impressed with the property. It was cosy and appeared to be very well looked after. The room I stayed in was clean and furnished well. My overall experience wasn't great though. For example, the pastries served at breakfast were left out from the night before, stale and served at least two days in a row. That may sound a silly thing to point out, but it shows a real lack of care. Additionally, I picked up a cup and found dried food on it and again, dried food on my plate the next day. The breakfast tables were always laid, and I'm not sure whether people were using this area at nighttime, or what was occurring, but it was disappointing to see, and clear nobody was checking cups/plates in the morning for cleanliness. I think what bothered me most, was that there was no hand sanitizer in the breakfast room, no attempt to enforce two metre distancing and a general lack of respect for personal space. Would not recommend.

I am so sorry you had a bad experience while you stayed at Bridge view. I sincerely apologise for the dirty plate and cup as this would be very unusual.my guess is that they did not come out clean from the dishwasher and checking them properly was overlooked. Regarding the pastry's...l NEVER serve stale anything.lf i think thst anything is even slightly off it goes straight into the bin.when it comes to the food i buy all the top brands of anything even the tomatoes are vine as opposed to regular so i am certainly not trying to cut back by serving old pastrys. Again i am very sorry if you had a bad experience,l love everyone to go away happy.
