The Kilkenny is just a short walk from the main drag. Perfect location for me! The staff was very kind and accommodating. I was able to check in a bit early. I went into the bar to have a drink and plan out my stay. The bar was absolutely charming. The breakfast included in my room was excellent—a very nice choice of food. After checking out, I was able to leave my bags in a secure area at the front desk for a few hours before my train. Everyone I came in contact with was very nice and friendly. I would definitely return.
Very nice hotel to stay in. Clean, quiet and friendly, great breakfast and a 10 minute walk to the centre of Kilkenny. Niall the barman was good craic and although the bar was quiet due to the time of year it has a nice atmosphere
Great stay, very quiet at night, great staff, perfect location, great price. I've stayed in a few places in Kilkenny and this was the best one for me. Would definitely stay here next time I travel to Kilkenny.
Myself and my wife have just returned from a one night stay at this hotel, which we have stayed in on a few previous occasions and always found it a very pleasant place to stay. The staff have always been friendly and helpful. I have a couple of issues from our latest stay, we stayed in room 109 and in the early hours of the morning there was a continuous noise like a motor humming and vibrating just outside our window and when it woke me for the umpteenth time I went to make a cup of tea but the electric kettle wouldn't work which was a bit frustrating and we felt it was too early to ask for a replacement. The breakfast was delicious as always so no complaints there. We informed the lady at reception of the problems we faced during the night and to be fair to her she was very apologetic. Still a great place to stay and very handy for the city centre …
Kilkenny Inn is a great hotel in a great location. Walkable to all major attractions in town and the wonderful pubs and restaurants. Room was comfortable, roomy, and clean, and I would definitely stay again!
We stayed for two nights, we had two adjoining rooms. The rooms were very comfortable and clean. The staff were very friendly and very helpful. There was a nice choice for breakfast each morning, the food was freshly cooked and served hot. We would be happy to stay in this hotel again.
We had a 10-day Ireland trip planned for March 2020 and then the pandemic hit. This was the only hotel that refused to cancel and refund us. They said that they would keep our reservation and we should let them know when we rebooked our trip and they would give us a room any day we needed. Two years later we we’re finally headed to Ireland so we contacted them to book the stay. They said rate gone up and they had to charge us the difference from two years ago. (That’s not what it means when you hold a reservation and refuse to refund money.) They apologized and said that they would give us a upgraded room, free gifts like chocolates on arrival, and luxurious bathrobes for our stay. We had a wonderful time in Ireland and arrived in Kilkenny for our last night. We walked into the hotel gave our name and they said that the name had already been checked in. They gave our room to another group with a similar sounding name. We asked if they were kidding because it took two years for us to get there and now they just gave away our room? The man at the front desk offered to cancel the reservation and refund our money… two years after we made the reservation, they refused to cancel it because of Covid, and now that we were standing in the lobby! We were a group of three and had reserved three separate beds. They said that the only room they had available was a double and a single. We were furious but needed a place to stay so we went up to the room. The room was very small for three people, it was old and dirty with scratches on every wall and peeling wallpaper. The room only had towels for two so we called down for another set of towels and tried to laugh off the fact that this other group of people with a similar last name we’re eating our chocolates and wearing our bathrobes. An hour later we opened the door and saw that they had dumped a set of towels on the floor and left. We had to check out early the next morning to get to the airport but the person at the front desk said that they would waive the additional cost from the increase in price. This experience ruined our last night in Ireland and left us with a sour feeling the whole flight home. Avoid this place at all costs.…
Close to the town centre. Rooms were clean and modern with a comfortable bed. The staff were friendly, the breakfast was decent.minimal fuss at checking and checkout You can get a drink in the nice bar. Would reccomend, good value option.
Staff very Polite and very helpful. Rooms were great a clean. All in all a very enjoyable stay. Easy to find with Google Maps. Only downside is parking at the Hotel. People may be using the Hotel as an easy place to park as it is close to Kilkenny center.
Its a hidden gem in Kilkenny. Staff were lovely especially Lee on reception he was really helpful. We had adjoining rooms, they were so comfortable, with everything you needs Gorgeous deco, fabulous toiletries, plenty of tbags/coffee water etc. We were very pleasantly surprised at the quality of this hotel.Breakfast plentiful choice. Parking very secure. The rooms are smallish but with adjoining rooms the felt very big. We would not hesitate to return. So near the centre of Kilkenny too. 10 out of 10.
