Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Absolutely horrified from staying here . Walked into bathroom a massive poo in the toilet that would not flush after several times . Very very disappointed and disgusted . Room was grubby and just overall a run down atmosphere . In such a fab place with renovation upgrade immensely would Improve this hotel . Staff all nice .

A lovely hotel and excellent staff in all areas. We had a very comfortable modern room with full bath and robes- a nice treat to relax and chill. Car park is a bonus, good location a few minutes walk from the centre. We will definitely return.

Mind your personal belongings in this place. Do not leave anything behind if you venture down the street or into the town. A sum of money was taken from my dresser (I shouldn’t have left it visible) but it still should be safe. Staff also rude on certain occasions. Won’t be returning.

We wanted a nice, comfortable hotel for a 1 night stay to make use of the new Irish bank holiday, and as my wife and I hadnt been to Kilkenny in years, knowing we would be out sightseeing all day, we just wanted something central. We came across the wonderful Kilkenny Inn Hotel, which had a great price and was just a short walk into the centre. We were quite surprised with our comfortable the stay was from a 3 star hotel. Parking was great, room was a good size, comfy bed, heating on and quite warm in the room for full stay, lovely amenities, and a wonderful view from the window. We had a delicious breakfast in the morning and had plenty to choose from. Overall very friendly staff whom we spoke with, and feel it will be the first place we look for availability on our (hopefully soon!) return to Kilkenny!

The location was perfect to walk to all the sites and to many, many restaurants and pubs. The lobby and bar area are lovely. The room was quite spacious. The bed was comfortable. Shower water was hot and strong flow. I loved the toiletries, kettle, bottled water, and variety of coffee and tea options in the room. It was so close to everything! The staff were absolutely incredible! Excellent customer service and very welcoming. I will definitely be back!

Hi Paula- I am shocked to read your review. I have heard from staff that was working on the morning of your departure and we have went through all footage and no one is seen entering your room except yourself and your partner. You are welcome to have a look if you would like. You can contact me on manager@kilkennyinn.com or 056-7772828 and ask to speak to myself. Kind Regards Jessica Murphy Management

The Kilkenny is just a short walk from the main drag. Perfect location for me! The staff was very kind and accommodating. I was able to check in a bit early. I went into the bar to have a drink and plan out my stay. The bar was absolutely charming. The breakfast included in my room was excellent—a very nice choice of food. After checking out, I was able to leave my bags in a secure area at the front desk for a few hours before my train. Everyone I came in contact with was very nice and friendly. I would definitely return.

Very nice hotel to stay in. Clean, quiet and friendly, great breakfast and a 10 minute walk to the centre of Kilkenny. Niall the barman was good craic and although the bar was quiet due to the time of year it has a nice atmosphere
