We asked for a room on the side of the castle and paid a bit more for one of the rounded rooms (family suite) even though we are just a couple. It was probably the largest hotel room we have ever stayed in. :) Very clean and well-decorated as well. Beautiful views of the garden and castle from the three...

We enjoyed the "old world" charm of this nice piece of history. The gardens were a real treat as a place to rest and relax. Very nice breakfast arrangements across the courtyard near the old castle. The location is very central to the walkable shopping and dining areas.

We recently held our wedding at Butler House (and Anocht restaurant) and we couldn’t have chosen better! We booked Butler House for two reasons: beautiful bedrooms and ceremony room, and stunning gardens. The combination went really well. Manager Gabrielle was wonderful and accommodating in the months of planning beforehand and helped us with layout, multiple bedroom bookings, and other advice...

From Fiona on reception who arranged a private taxi to retrieve us from Dublin airport to the nice young man who schlepped our heavy bags up three flights, the staff at Butler House were unfailingly cheerful, good humoured and happy to serve. Best things - fab location to city centre, views of the castle and walk thu stables to unbelievably...

We really loved our stay at Butler House. The room was large (a standard with garden view) with a huge bathroom with a tub and a separate shower! The red colors of leaves for the fall were beautiful. The parking was secure. You need to drive a bit past the front and enter from ally behind to park. There were...

We thoroughly enjoyed our garden view room in this Georgian style hotel for our stay in Kilkenny. It is very well situated and nicely decorated, although be prepared to climb the stairs as there is no lift. However there are plenty of positives, such as the delightful entry and lounge and the extensive walled garden at the rear which was...

Check in is fast and easy and they have secure parking for your car. Our room was very spacious with TV and free Wifi. Although being on the third floor know there is no elevator and many steps. it has a very nice garden area to enjoy. You do have to walk a couple blocks for the breakfast included and...

The location is convenient but the bar across the street is noisy at night. The reception staff were wonderful. The room was sparse. Small and very hard double bed. No lifts so you have to carry your bags up stairs. The breakfast was terrible. I would not stay here again.
