I recently traveled to Ireland with a friend and we stayed at the Butler Court for 2 nights. We each had our own room and both were incredibly charming. The decor was lovely, the beds so comfortable, and the in-room breakfast was convenient and delicious. I should have asked Yvonne for the brown bread recipe because I'm still thinking about it! The location cannot be beat as well as the convenient no-additional-charge parking. Great choice and I look forward to coming back.

We had a delightful stay. Butler Court has a great location in Kilkenny. Yvonne was charming and extremely helpful, the room was very comfortable with everything we wanted and the whole experience couldn’t have been better.

With clean, airy rooms, this accommodation is tucked away in a quaint setting and is in a perfect location for exploring Kilkenny on foot. We liked the town, and Yvonne is a super-friendly and helpful host.

After staying in several hotel/B&B's throughout Ireland, we were disappointed in Butler Court. The positives are that the host is delightful and very welcoming. The location is an easy walk to pubs and restaurants. The room was clean. The negatives....this is more of a motel with very basic furnishings, mattress seemed worn, towels and bedding of low quality, no curtains on windows, just cheap miniblinds. We knew it was a 'continental' breakfast so that was a given. The room and bathroom were small and my heart sank when we walked in. Not sure where all the 5 star reviews are coming from and Rick Steves got this one wrong. Overall we did not care for Kilkenny given it's quite the party scene on weekends given it's train proximity to Dublin (no fault of inn keepers). Every bar has security at the door. …

The location was great; very convenient to walk to the sites. The host and hostess were gracious and very available. We needed feedback on some issues and they were helpful. The entry to the rooms is through a lovely garden area which is gated and locked in the evening. A basic continent breakfast is provided in the room, which is a convenient way to begin the day.

Perfect location, perfect hostess, great great accommodations that won't break the bank. Yvonne is a delight and a wealth of information about the area from Kilkenny north and down through Waterford and Kinsale. Can't say more about how pleasant she made our stay. Didn't see too much of husband John. He was usually in his 'office' over at the Blue Bar!!!!!

Yvonne & John's place is fabulous. They are very attentive innkeepers, making sure their guests are well cared for. Rooms are weIl appointed and have what you need. OMG-the yogurt and brown bread in the mini-fridge were delicious. Parking is secure and nearby if you have a car. It's also a great location on the edge of the center of town, so a short walk to the Castle, Churches and downtown businesses. Surprisingly quiet for an in town location (a bit more noise from the street on Saturday night, which makes sense). We were in Kilkenny for a wedding and stayed for 4 nights and feel we made an excellent choice.

Yvonne and John were wonderful hosts - it was almost like staying with relatives or friends! The rooms are comfortable, quiet, spotless and roomy. The bathrooms are a little small for two, but the shower is nice and spacious. The location is perfect! We plan to stay there again, when we go to Kilkenny.

This place was top notch from start to finish! Yvonne greeted us warmly, efficiently walked us through the various sites and room logistics, then left us to enjoy beautiful, clean and comfortable rooms. There is a yummy breakfast provided in the room, and the location is just perfect. A little table in the courtyard would nice for guests to enjoy their breakfast, but that's just a suggestion (from my husband). The rooms were just lovely!

Butlers Court is such a lovely and unforgettable place! It’s a 10/10! Simple as that! Everything was perfect, and this made our last few days in beautiful Ireland very special! A big thank you, from Italy, to Yvonne and John, who were always super kind and made us feel at home straight away, and a belly rub to Bo, their adorable dog, which I will never forget!
