Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We loved our stay at Mena House. Katherine's home was clean and quiet! We were welcomed and felt so comfortable during our stay. Katherine even gave us tips on things to do and routes to take on our remaining time in Ireland, and I'm so grateful because we saw some neat places we might have missed, thank you, Katherine! Breakfast was delicious, I suggest the pancakes :) and the views from the beautiful garden are hard to beat. Short walk into town and easy to find. Highly recommend.

Shortly after our arrival in Dublin, and a nerve-wracking experience driving on the opposite side of the road, we were welcomed into this lovely B & B, giving us a perfect impression of Ireland. Our host, Kathryn, was gracious and friendly and full of information and recommendations. Our room was immaculate and comfortable. The breakfast was really something to write about: beautifully presented and was delicious. Full Irish breakfast does not want one wanting for more! The fruit was perfect as was everything else. We have no hesitation in recommending this B & B, located within walking distance of the town of Kilkenny.

We had a flat tire about a mile from the B&B. We were tired, disoriented and it was raining. The owner of the B&B came and got us and made some calls in the morning to get our flat fixed. Catherine is an amazing host. The property is beautiful and tranquil. Breakfast was delicious. I couldn’t be happier with this B&B.

Wonderful B&B, 1 mile from the busy downtown. The owner Catherine made it extra special with her knowledge of the area and her unlimited service. Breakfast was absolutely delicious and huge with a big bowl of fresh fruits to start the meal. Full Irish breakfast was the best we’ve had enough for four people. Everything was perfect

The most amazing b&b experience we have ever had. Katherine is the perfect hostess. The b&b is in the perfect location, so clean, really comfy beds and fluffy pillows, so homely and the breakfast was amazing! Katherine even provided us with umbrellas during a downpour, she is so kind and thoughtful. Would highly recommend here and will be staying again.

Katherine makes you feel...safe. Like you're staying w/ family. The rooms are sparkling clean and spacious. Plenty of easily-accessible parking. Breakfast is delicious and generous. The walk to town is pleasant and quick (along the river). The quiet of the House and the comfort of the beds/bedding make for restful sleep. Katherine is quick with advice and reassurance (car driving nerves!). I do hope to return soon and there is no other place in Kilkenny I'd consider staying at.

This is a special place. The owner, Katherine is wonderful. She is friendly, and it shows that she loves what she does. The home is warm and inviting, and very comfortable. She went out of her way to make our stay special. We had a room for 2 and our own bathroom. Breakfast was delicious, and the gardens surrounding the home are beautiful. I wish we had stayed here 2 nights. Kilkenny is an amazing walkable city with great food, pubs, sights and arts.

You could eat off the floors of this b and b!!! Katherine is a DELIGHT!!!! The breakfast was delicious, the accomodations were comfortable and spotless. The backyard garden is so lovely to enjoy while you eat breakfast. Katherine can point you to local spots that are close by. We stayed in several bed and breakfasts in Ireland and this is by far our favorite!!!! If we come back to Ireland, we will make a point to stay at Mena House. Kilkenny is lovely place and her location is very good to get to anything you want to see/do.
