Recently returned to the New Park on a family trip, 11 of us in total including 3 children.
This hotel is lovely for families, it has a play room, a kitchen for guest use to wash baby bottles, breast feed, use of microwave, a pool, a lovely playground, fairy door trail walk and petting farm. Plenty for everyone to do. I’ve also visited this hotel in November when their Christmas decorations are up and it’s just magical.
Unfortunately this time the staff very much let this hotel down. On our first night four of us went for dinner in the bar, it was busy but the bar staff were extremely slow and getting served took ages and the waitress gave our drinks to another group further away from us. Then the bar staff forgot to give us our drinks after we settled the food bill.
On our second night we all went for an early meal at 6.30 - on arrival we were told the kitchen was quite busy due to a confirmation group and they asked if we could wait 30 minutes. We didn’t mind but the service during our meal was appalling, two people at the table ordered a duck starter it arrived without key components and when they asked the waitress she disappeared into the kitchen and didn’t come back until we had to ask again. The drinks were very slow to be served during our meal, and one of our party ordered a baileys with ice and got two baileys coffees instead!! The restaurant wasn’t that busy and there were plenty of staff on but they were completely incompetent. We asked the staff to bring out a birthday cake with candles which they did but never asked us if we would like it cut, we ended up doing it ourselves.
The food in general is so so at this hotel nothing to write home about, the childs menu in the bar is quite expensive €9 for main course which has a number of choices but example burger and fries or nuggets and fries so a bit steep.
The housekeeping staff are the most competent I’ve seen all weekend.
Not sure I’ll return to the New Park after this trip which is a pity as I really enjoyed our last stay.

My friend and I booked bed and breakfast for a Saturday night just after the hotel reopened in July. We had a fab time and were so well looked after. The room and en suite were lovely and so comfortable and we were even provided with robes and slippers in our room! We booked a specific time to use the swimming pool and jacuzzi as the hotel was limiting the amount of people allowed in the pool at the one time. We had a 1 hour slot which was plenty of time and it was actually nice that the numbers were limited as swimming pools can get over crowded, especially on a weekend! We had 2 courses for dinner which was delicious and also went for some cocktails after in the hotel bar (loved the relaxed and cosy vibe in the terrace bar - there were blankets on the couches which was a nice touch). Breakfast the following was lovely and the staff were again very attentive. Overall the staff were great and made it very easy to forget the madness of lockdown! Looking forward to another visit and booking some treatments in the spa :)

Very family friendly hotel, with plenty to do for young children. The kids club and the farm animals on the grounds were a big hit with my two youngest. The hotel itself is also wheelchair friendly with easy access in and around the ground level of the hotel. A little on the expensive side regarding the restaurants for food & drinks. Also our room was roasting hot & the ceiling fan didn’t work, but we were provided with some desk fans. No service to our room could be provided which was a little inconvenient, but all in all we had a very pleasant 3 day stay.

Easy access to the city and close to all amenities. Food in the hotel was very good although we did find the bar food very over priced. €9 for a small child’s meal seems a bit much. Playground and pet farm on site was a great success with the kids and the pool was good too.
The only downfall was room was not cleaned daily, I’m not sure if this is due to covid but I would still expect rooms to be made daily especially as we had rubbish/ nappy bags that needed disposing of. I didn’t alert reception about this but I’m sure if I did it would have been sorted.
Overall good experience and staff were excellent!! All very helpful and friendly. Would definitely recommend

Wow! what a fabulous time we had. We booked the hotel with a very helpful lady called Alison who work's in reservations. She was so helpful. The warm welcome we received on arrival from the lovely Lucy at reception was wonderful. Absolutely amazing. Staff were fantastic. Special mention to Aga & Nicole from the terrace & to Stephen in the bar who made the most fantastic strawberry daiquiri's. Kids club was fantastic. Thanks to Laura, Ellen, Megan, Kevin & all the team. Great fun was had at the playground & at the wonderful pet farm & at the even more amazing Fairy Garden. Food was wonderful from the hearty breakfast to the tasty lunches and to the scrumptious dinne. The attention to detail in the dessert selection is incredible. Special thanks to Katie & Ellie. You made it so special for us. Given the current situation that we are living in, the hotel was spotless. Plenty of sanitisers around & the staff were constantly wiping & cleaning down surfaces. Finally, thanks to an absolutely amazing Manager Paul Behan. You are fantastic and we look forward to seeing you very soon when we come back to visit your wonderful hotel. 😃

Without doubt upon arrival we were warmly welcomed by the staff. We stayed at the hotel for 2 nights, booked a standard double room. The room we were given was on the ground floor and was quite a distance away from the reception which meant we had to make several trips back and forth with the luggage. . I thought a shower in a bath was a thing of the past. The shower head in the bath had very low water pressure. The hot water pot had a very short electrical cord, so the pot had to be placed on the side locker to heat the water. Dinner menu in Scott's brasserie was disappointing. The meal on the night was not nice and a little cold, Ate in town on The following night. On a positive note , breakfast in hotel we could not fault, the staff were or so friendly and helpful , as the rooms were not serviced .So for the above reasons I would only give a 3 star rating.

This hotel is literally without fault in my opinion. We have 3 small boys and they had an absolute ball. Pool, amazing playground/petting farm/go karts/kids club..something for all ages. Staff were genuinely lovely people, friendly and kind. They all appeared very happy in their job. Cannot recommend highly enough. We will definitely be back. Our room was gorgeous and anything we needed was brought to the room in minutes. Hand sanitising stations literally ever few steps and all staff wearing visors and ensuring areas are well cleaned down before the next group.

I don't normally leave reviews but wanted to do it for this venue. We had our wedding last Saturday and I have nothing but praise for this hotel. From the moment we started planning to right up to the day we couldn't thank Sinead and the events team enough for their incredible work. Sinead was so fast replying to emails and she literally thought of everything to make our day the best day possible. We arrived on the day and was met by the most friendly management who literally looked after everything. The lady who overseen everything on the day was such a pleasure to deal with it. Her calmness, funny and friendly manner made it so enjoyable. We had a last minute guest who showed up but never replied to the rsvp and I didn't even know about it as she had him seated outside whilst we were outside taking a breather. The room was fabulously decorated, which is a bonus for any couple, as you literally do not have to worry about getting outside suppliers for decor as they have the room worthy of any 5star location. The food was incredible and it is so nice to hear guests raving about the food days later so compliments to the chef. All the staff were so friendly and nothing was a problem to any of them. The little things like entering the room was so special to the lifting of the dinner plates with Proud Mary filling the ballroom ( which we did not know about) but again it was special. The bar was well stocked and plenty of staff behind it so guests were not waiting to be watered. Everything was exceptional. Thank you so much to everyone who helped make the day fabulous. There was two newly engaged couples at our wedding and both couples told us after that they were going to look at dates for next year and you know what they say, Imitation is the best form of Flattery!

Thanks again

Kathleen & Seanie

No visible staff (apart from an oblivious management type in deep and extended conversation with a customer), dirty uncleared tables. We sat for 20 minutes hoping for service before going to find someone at the coffee bar. Order taken and food when it came after a long wait was disappointing. A wilted soggy croque monsieur (small) with the inevitable crinkly packet crisps and a poorly prepared side salad. Chowder was nice but portion was skimpy. The chips ordered, had to be chased up, and arrived after meal and were nothing to write home about. We looked for salt ourselves and eventually given the lone salt cellar for the restaurant. The lone waitress was eventually supported by two returning waiters shortly before we left - too little too late considering she seemed to be covering reception coffees as well as terrace. Disappointing experience that shows a lack of commitment to quality and poor leadership in the dining department.

Hi. No it's an adult only pool and basically true to every outdoor pool as they are hot tubs effectively so not suitable to anyone below 16 years old. They have a huge pool indoors anyway which would be ideal for families with young kids or take turns with another adult - i.e. one going to outdoor pool while the other is minding kids and vice versa. Enjoy!
