Great staff! And they held our bags after we checked out for our last couple of hours in Kilkenny. It WAS a really nice hotel but is feeling tired. Bathroom could use some bleach on the grout. The water pressure is low so at least put the shower head on a longer pipe so it doesn’t just water the shampoo bottles. The location is great for touring the castle and the High Street. The price is ok… we also chose to get the breakfast. Swim caps mandatory and €4 ish… No fridge in room and the instant coffee they provided in the room was not to our taste (luckily the coffee w breakfast was good out of the machine). Net-net the staff saved it from a 2 rating.

We ABSOLUTELY LOVED Kilkenny and the Ormonde hotel. The desk staff super nice the bar staff as well. The only thing I would say negative is the smell of musty in room and hallways needed vacuuming. The spa was a let down as we all planned a spa day but saw it was a local ymca type spa and NOT in the hotel so we decided against doing them. What we saw in video was not was we saw in person. Sorry

Met with a warm with a welcome from Ricki on reception. Rooms were clean. Public area seating, is a little claustrophobic. High back chairs make it feel like a nursing home in parts. That's just a personal opinion. The corner in at the far right of the breakfast room requires some repair on the ceiling. Staff are lovely , but they seem to wander about looking for direction. Some time in motion reworks would fix that. Manager was very helpful and considerate and provided great assistances to my sister in law who has mobility issues and kindly helped her to the car. We will be back and look forward to seeing you again soon.

The Kilkenny Ormonde Hotel is perfectly located, a block away from the noise of the pubs but within walking distance of the castle and many restaurants. Parking is available at a discounted rate at the car park across the street. There is no fitness center, but even better, there is free access to a comprehensive gymnasium across the street. Our room was wonderful: spacious, comfortable, immaculate, in excellent repair. Sleep quality would have been excellent but for the fact that our stay included a Saturday night. It's hard to fault the hotel for their amazingly rude, loud guests who returned drunk from the pubs after midnight (would a sign advising silence in the hallways have helped?) but it destroyed sleep quality that night. Our Sunday night in the hotel was a much better experience. We booked our reservation inclusive of breakfast, which was excellent. The variety and quality of food was outstanding, as was service. Were I to return to Kilkenny, would I stay here again? Honestly: for a Saturday (and probably Friday) night, I'd stay elsewhere. Otherwise: an excellent stay.…

Great location and enjoyed our stay as we were really looking forward to it. Hotel was very busy so unfortunately it was quite loud at night time and we were woken by guests returning to their rooms late into the night/ early morning.

I was planning a meeting for 40 people recently and booked the Kilbride Suite with Alyson. Absolutely fantastic service from start to finish. Every person we dealt with in the hotel was fantastic. I stayed in the hotel the night before the meeting along with one other colleague so we could prepare for the meeting the following day. A big thank you to Stan who couldn’t have been any more accommodating. I would absolutely use The Ormond again for figure meetings. Thank you Alyson, Stan and all of the team. It was an absolute pleasure 😊

We stayed two nights in the hotel to visit Kilkenny. Our room was spacious and comfortable. We arrived before the check in time of 4pm and it would have been good if more effort had been made to allow us to get into the room early. We were on a package and had a nice dinner in the brasserie. We enjoyed a swim in the pool each morning. Breakfast was good, however the restaurant looked a little tired.

My family and I recently stayed at the Kilkenny Ormonde and would highly recommend it for families. The room was huge with bunk beds for the kids and loads of space for the four of us. The hotel is in a great location, just off the main street and has a pool and outdoor covered seating. There is so much to offer in the area for families, Jurassic world, the Kilkenny train tour and play park at the castle. A big thank you to Christine and Josephine at the front desk for their amazing customer service and empathy shown to me when we had to cut our trip short due to family illness. We hope to come back soon to continue our stay in this fabulous hotel!
