There were 18 of us staying for one night 17 cyclists and me their mechanic and support.
The hotel is in a great location in the centre of Tralee, the staff were amazing, providing a secure room for the bikes and moving parking around so I could get my van directly outside the door.
The rooms are spacious and very clean and even on Friday evening with the windows open there was little in the way of noise during the night.
Overall a most enjoyable stay and would well recommend.

We had a fantastic stay in the ashe Hotel fantastic value for money for our family of 5 we had a spacious room with a double bed bunk beds and a camp bed. The deal also included a trip to the aquadome which the kids loved. Staff were friendly on arrival and room was reay ahead of check in time I called ahead to have aqua tickets ready at the desk. Easy parking outside the hotel which is in a prime central location in the middle of tralee town plenty of shops restaurants and bars all around. Room and hotel extremely clean cannot fault. We had breakfast the following morning good selection of fruits pastries and cereals all hot food made to order a big hit with the kids were the pancakes breakfast served from 7 to 10 all came out quickly and was lovely. Cannot fault our stay the hotel was covered In Christmas decor which was magical. Will be recommending to family and friends and will be staying again.

The Ashe Hotel provided my large group with an oasis experience. After being on the road for the entire day, the spacious and beautifully-decorated hotel/rooms were just what we needed to unwind and relax. The location was perfect - tucked away but a short walk to restaurants and other attractions. The restaurant had a great selection from the breakfast buffet as well as hot breakfast items from the menu. Breakfast was included. We also had a large van for transportation, and the hotel has surface parking for us. I would have loved to stay an additional night!

Excellent hotel in the centre of Tralee. The welcome at the front desk was warm, and check-in was easy and hassle free.
The rooms are huge, with a superb bed which guaranteed a good nights sleep. The noise outside was minimal.

There were plenty of supplies for making tea and coffee plus a couple of cartons of water. The bathroom was well stocked with shower gel and shampoo, soaps, and shower caps.

The restaurant staff were attentive, and nothing was too much trouble for them.

It was a wonderful two days in Kerry.

Good, the central location. Very nice, the stylishly furnished entrance areas and the cozy dining areas. Very cool, the bar. It's a shame that I got an apparently unrenovated Ikea-style room. The two beds, max. 80cm wide with a completely worn-out mattress. The bathroom, cold with a shower tray and a completely outdated shower head. The TV, loose on the wall. On the hotel website you can see much better equipped rooms. Most of my fellow travelers (couples) had much more modern and stylishly furnished rooms than I did. Unfortunately, too often you are treated less well as a single person than if you are traveling as a couple. In addition, bathrooms with shower trays are absolutely old fashioned. One reason not to make a clear recommendation here. The included breakfast, not really much choice. The coffee from the warming pot, not good at all. Another positive thing to mention, and for this there is the 3rd point, is that the kitchen offers quite tasty food.

I’m actually stunned to see so many 5* ratings for this Hotel here, it’s far from 5*, it’s a 3* max, it has two things going for it, relatively comfy beds and it’s in the centre of Tralee town, that’s it!
We stayed there recently and found it difficult to sleep, it’s very noisy at night being right on the street, we were awake until 530am one night due to people shouting outside!
It’s not a peaceful spot!!

Dinner is Alfie’s was mixed, we had just arrived so didn’t have a booking, the lady that we approached wasn’t happy with us at all and made a big deal about accommodating us without one despite the fact that there were a lot of empty tables which never filled up whilst we ate!
I had fish and chips, my partner had hake, that was fine but my battered fish was dripping in oil which was off putting, the chips were obviously cooked in different oil which was fresh so they were tasty. Desserts are limited to a large cookie in a cast iron pan which seemed very popular, a brownie and a vegan apple crumble, and ice cream, I had the apple crumble but there was way to much dusty crumble and not enough apple!
Breakfast appeared to be deep fried in the same oil, everything had the same “tang” from breakfast sausages to fish, it was extremely unpleasant, our second morning we didn’t even attempt the fried breakfast, we stuck to eggs and they were ok!
When I said it to a staff member about the oil they just looked at me as if I had two heads and walked away, very disappointing!

Also there is no bar where you can sit and relax for a drink, it’s used as part of the restaurant at night, we felt under pressure having a drink there and very much in the way and it was made obvious by staff when we were told our bar table was booked for dinner by someone but we could finish our drinks first…!

Not once during our stay did a member of staff greet us, address us, smile at us, even at check in, we were just handed our room card, told what floor and that was it, …I’ve never came across anything like it, there was total disinterest in guests, the only pleasant one we encountered was the night porter, he had manners and chatted!

The cleaners also did a good job as the room was clean, but be aware the bath is very high to scramble into for a shower, which is a shame, the handle inside it didn’t feel too strong either so don’t depend on it!

The lobby is quite small with some seating, it just isn’t the place to sit and have a drink or coffee, there’s no atmosphere and none of it feels welcoming or warm!

I wouldn’t stay here again, nor would I recommend it, it’s too noisy, especially at night with all the shouting outside after the pubs/clubs close.
The place is well decorated but that means nothing when there’s nowhere to sit in the evening, having a podium outside the bar in the small reception area so staff can ask if you’ve a reservation is off putting when you just want to sit with a friend, have a drink and relax!
I’ve never experienced that before, nor do I want to again, so my advice is stay somewhere like the Rose Hotel where the guests are appreciated and the staff welcoming, warm and pleasant, it’s not here that’s for sure

Response from Colin Boyle, Owner at The Ashe Hotel
Responded 6 Dec 2022
Dear SeamusMarian1234. Thank you for taking the time to post such an extensive review on this forum. I am disappointed you did not enjoy aspects of your stay. Thankfully we are very busy and have a very successful food business and it appears Alfie's was very busy during your stay which perhaps resulted in there being less areas to sit for a drink in the bar. We operate a podium at the entrance to Alfie's to welcome guests and accompany them to their reserved table and this is generally very well received. I am perplexed at your comments about the team being unfriendly as the overwhelming majority of our guests (see other reviews) comment strongly on the warmth of our team. Perhaps as you suggest The Ashe is just not for you and whilst this disappoints me we can only do our best. Kind regards, Colin Boyle

This is our second stay at The Ashe, we returned because of how well we were looked after the first time and nothing has changed. The rooms are comfortable and well equipped with tea, coffee, hairdryer, iron and ironing board. The beds are very comfortable, we had really good nights sleep. There’s a decent size bathroom with bath and overhead shower. The shower was hot and powerful. Shampoo and body wash supplied along with a couple of small bottles of conditioner. There were bottles of water in the room when we arrived, along with a couple of glasses.
We booked breakfast and were not disappointed, it was delicious, waiter service for coffee and hot food, with help your self buffet for cereal and continental food.
Unfortunately we were in Tralee for our friend’s funeral and The Ashe was set in a perfect position for us to get around easily. It is nestled in the middle of tralee town so surrounded by shops and bars but set back enough that it’s nice and quite.
When we return to Tralee, The Ashe will be the first place we look at booking.

We held our party in Lottie's as a belated wedding reception/ leaving do/ early anniversary celebration. We currently live in South America but the staff at The Ashe were incredibly accommodating, emailing back and forth and meeting with one of our family members who went to look round on our behalf. We are especially thankful to Diana who was our point of contact throughout, who set everything up for us and who made the many many alterations to our table plan without any fuss! The accommodation and reception staff were also brilliant, doing their best to make sure some of the guests could check in early and giving parking and taxi information.

On the night, The Ashe dressed the tables and room beautifully and had even personalised the menus and table plan display board with the design from our invitations. Our 80 guests were able to choose from the full menu and everyone commented on how delicious and hot the food was and how great the portion sizes were. The bar and waiting staff were really attentive to all our needs all night and also made it very easy for the DJ to set things up in advance. We were also grateful to be able to continue our night in the main bar afterwards.

Overall, this is a fantastic venue to hold an event. The price is incredibly reasonable for the quality of what they provide and our guests are still saying how much fun they had and how lovely they thought the hotel and Lottie's room was. We couldn't have asked for more.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The Ashe Hotel for my husband’s birthday. The staff were so nice and there was a birthday card and a little box of sweets in recognition of his birthday in the room. The room was spacious and had everything we needed including tea and coffee. Very tastefully decorated. The beds anre very comfortable and it was quiet at night. The location of the hotel is very central in Tralee and we got complimentary parking outside the hotel. Breakfast was lovely and the service was excellent. We will definitely return. Thanks to everyone for making our stay so enjoyable.

We enjoyed our stay a lot! The hotel is very nice and perfectly located to enjoy the town center and the surroundings. The parking facility is very easy and we did not have any difficulty to find a spot available. The staff is amazing, they helped us with any of our requests with a friendly smile. Thanks a lot!
