This was my 5 visit to the Grand hotel. It is centrally located for visiting my family and tourists sites. Hotel staff in all departments were friendly and always going overboard to assist. Rooms were clean, Restaurant food and bar were exceptional. Full breakfast in morning made a great start of the day!
Our car broke down whilst visiting Ireland, and were very fortunate to have an excellent garage Kellihers in Tralee. They very kindly arranged our stay in The Grand Hotel, this was just one night, but a lovely experience indeed. We were welcomed at the reception by a lovely lady called Eileen, she was am absolute gem. She fitted us in at such short notice, putting us in a very comfortable room with all facilities we required. The breakfast was excellent, with a very varied choice of hot or cold food. Although it was just one night, we will remember our stay fondly, and thank you again Eileen x.
Book this last minute with hotel , fair price , staff where very good, very helpful, room 102 was very clean and a good size , dinning room at breakfast looked first class , waitress bright and friendly (7.15am) , Cons breakfast, bacon hard and cold blackpudding cold and bland ,mushrooms cold and look out like came out of tin , rest was Hot, Hotel part I'd give 4.5 out of 5 , breakfast 2.5 out of 5
Booked the hotel, after phoning reception to ensure it had a suitable room, travelling with a elderly guest with mobility issues, clearly explained that we need easy access room with a walk-in shower, Arrived at 4pm to check in and discovered our room was up a narrow steep stairs !!! No lift !! Left us scrambling for a hotel last minute !!! The Ash Hotel to the rescue !!
Had an occasion to be in Tralee recently and ate Sunday lunch at the Grand Hotel. Service was good , the dining room though big is very dark and dowdy looking. Menu was good but the food was not great. We would be well used to dining out & very honest in our reviews. The chips were cold though my fish was lovely. Salad on the plate was tasteless, overall not a good meal. Place was very busy so we did not complain but we would not be in a rush back unfortunately.
This is a charming, traditional hotel centrally located in Tralee town. The room was clean but basic. We had to ask for additional tea, coffee and milk but this was provided. Both the breakfast and the food served in the busy bar in the evenings were excellent and the staff were hard-working and friendly. The music in the bar on Friday evening was fantastic and made for a lovely atmosphere.
Long time visitor to the Grand. Excellent food. Service is generally quite good. However overbearing manager continually observing. Seem to be expected to leave once food is eaten. I suppose turning over tables. Other than that what to say.
Just spent three days at the grand hotel ,the room was amazing and the food was spectacular highly recommend it . The staff were very friendly , service was a little slow in the dining room but the food was well worth the weight
Stayed at the Grand Hotel as one of our stops through Ireland. The service was outstanding. Great hotel, great restaurant, great bar. They even helped with reservations at our next stop. I can’t say enough about how nice and helpful everyone was.
Booked a 2 night stay and left on the second day. The room was too small for 2 people with a tiny cupboard and no room for suitcases. Extractor fans for the kitchen right outside our bedroom windows constantly on like listening to a generator. No air conditioning and the heat was sickening. No lift so all our bags and suitcases had to be carried up the stairs. Staff weren't accommodating and hadn't a welcoming manner and for the money the room cost which was far from cheap friendliness should have been common courtesy. I've stayed in various hotels and I was disappointed with Grand Hotel. Wouldn't recommend and certainly wouldn't stay there again. Not a good place for relaxing as its busy and noisy. Perfect location for a single person going for a session or a drinking weekend
