Very old rooms, so dated, cramped for a twin room, Hotel is in a good central location, breakfast was okay nothing exciting, I wouldn’t return, we need a room last minute in Tralee and it was available, I would never choose to stay here !
We stayed here Sunday night and unfortunately it just wasn't great. I was exhausted after a night in hospital and rather then drive home I said it would be better to sleep over somewhere. We chose this hotel based on other recommendations but it just didn't meet a good standard in my opinion. We had room 508 a deluxe room? The walls where all marked the TV kept creeking all through the night, the matress was non existant, you keept sinking down in it as there seemed to be no springs left in it and it was unbearably thin. At 7 am the room next door 507 ran the bath but the boiler for that was in our room. The noise was something that could not have been slept through and also the walls were paper thin and we could hear the person next door bathing and moving around in the bath and then other people talking in the corridor. They may as well have been in the room with us. We raised these concerns at 7:30 with receptionist who was shocked to hear of the boiler situation and said it wasn't in our room when the door for it is literally in the picturs below gave? She gave us a breakfast on the house but (which is extremely poor, sausages where pale and look uncooked and there was very little to choose from) all I wanted was some sleep. For over 100 euro for the night it is unacceptable and for these reasons I will not recommend nor return to the hotel. I hate to leave a bad review especially with the way hospitality is at the moment but things need to be improved.…
On our recent visit to the brandon for the 1st time we were pleasantly surprised by the warm reception and everything that followed. The pool was lovely and a few minutes in the jacuzzi felt great on the bones. We had a spotless room and before going out in tralee we headed into the hotel bar for a few drinks where we came across more lovely staff. In the morning at our lovely breakfast we met the wonderful noreen broderick who over saw the running of the breakfast room with a smile and a chat that just brightened up the day. The food was lovely and we will definitely be back. We'll done all at the Brandon Hotel.
Went here with my parents and my partner for 1 night. Rooms were a bit dated but comfortable. The staff were really lovely and polite. We had a good breakfast with lots of choice. Very central and only a 10 kilometres from banna strand. The only gripe I would have is that the room was very hot. Will definitely return.
We stayed here during February for 2 nights in a family room. The room itself was grand and well kept and clean. It had an actual key for the door which meant that we usually left it at reception when we left as it was too awkward to carry. There was free parking behind the hotel and a number of very nice restaurants nearby. We also used the pool facilities which were perfect for kids that can swim as there's no lifeguard and also nobody enforcing the swimhat rule. The 2 drawbacks were a lack of a safe in the room and also the lack of pastries at the breakfast buffet. Other than that I'd recommend.
This lovely hotel is situated roughly a 10 minute walk from the town centre and right across the road is a huge car parking area. The hotel has its own car park at the rear of the hotel. The hotel was clean and spacious. The meals were very tasty and nutritious. All the staff were friendly and accommodating, nothing was too much trouble for them. I would recommend this hotel to friends and family. Proof of vaccination was never asked for, but this maybe because all of the coach party were required by the coach firm to have proof of vaccination and a locator form before we were allowed to board the ferry at Holyhead.
Loved our stay in the Brandon. Very very well managed for Covid and thorough for sticking to.guidelines. All staff were brilliant in every area. Especially in bar & restaurant. (Lady on breakfast was lovely) food was excellent catered for coeliacs and even had gluten free beer. Place was spotless. Bedroom spacious and very clean. Bed very comfortable. Just an all round lovely visit. I will def be back.
My daughter and I stayed at the Brandon for 8 nights and had a wonderful experience. We found all the staff really helpful, the room was excellent, comfortable and very clean. The breakfast really good and staff so helpful and friendly. We used the swimming pool which was great, there is also a great gym there. It's only a few mins walk to the town centre so really central but at a quiet area at the same time, overall very happy with our stay and staff with a special thanks to the kitchen staff serving breakfast.
Standard hotel room, clean enough I fairness and certainly warm. Bordering on stuffy if I can be honest, without sounding picky. There is a bar in the hotel but no mini bar in the room and no residents bar or night porter service if you want a little something after being out for the evening. As for the staff, I must say the lady at check in was very friendly welcoming and helpful. However, the other staff we encountered, can't see them winning any hospitality awards any time soon. They were not rude by any means.... Look, its just my opinion, I just thought the place felt a bit clinical. Would I recommend it?... If your stuck for a hotel, then maybe. Would I personally be in a rush to go back? Probably not. For the money they're charging, I would look elsewhere next time.
Excellent food (except for the stale bread rolls) On the outskirts of town, 10 or 15 minutes walk to main square. We had room 343 with views of parkland and MacGillycuddys Reeks (mountains (see pics. It was hot while we were there so had windows open, letting in some traffic noise from main road
