Ballyseede Castle is truly the most wonderful castle in Ireland for break. This was our second visit in 2020 and we are already planning to return in 2021. The location, facilities and food are excellent. Our bedroom was amazing, we upgraded to a Superior Room, the garden views are beautiful. There are lots of dining options to choose from, we had dinner in The O'Connell Restaurant our first night and on night two selected from their All Day Dining menu. The big positive here is that the team in Ballyseede Castle give a genuine and warm welcome, anything you asked or needed was provided with a smile. Can't wait to return.

We stayed for two nights before Christmas and I have to say I could not find a fault with the hotel. I literally couldn't say a bad word about my stay there, from the staff, the food, to the rooms everything was spot on. It was a real treat, and the best part is it was affordable. For what it is, it's such good value. it really has that luxury feel. We were given a room in the west wing, which was spectacular! The room surpassed all our expectations. We were worried with it being a castle it might not have had everything a new modern hotel would have, but it really had everything you need and more. It really was luxury and loved the beds!! The staff were extremely friendly and very professional from the moment we checked in. It just had a very warm welcoming atmosphere in general. The food was incredible and again not as overpriced as you would expect compared to restaurants in other premium hotels. We found it great value for the quality of food we were served. Having breakfast each morning in the stone room just added to the whole experience too. We both really loved that room! We went for a walk in the woods nearby which we'd really recommend if the weather is good, and you have to take the time to meet Mr. Higgins, the castle's own Irish Wolfhound. Overall 10/10 experience and will 100% be returning for a staycation this year whenever we can!

From arrival, I felt like I was in another world. I've stayed in castle hotels before but this was next level. The decor and ambiance is beautiful, but there are quirky features which make it so personal, pets to step over, family photos, hot air balloon lights, local staff (esp Esther at breakfast service-fantastic), elusive wolfhounds outside... Amazing. Very special venue. Lovely food and service. New Wing stunning, but I suggest room 304 in original part, huge and beautiful for friend's getaway.

We had a vegan wedding at Christmas at Ballyseede Castle, and I just wanted to say on behalf of my husband and myself how blown away we were by how accommodating and incredible every member of staff we came into contact with was in both the lead up to and during the day of the wedding. The staff gave us such a wonderful set of memories that we will treasure for a lifetime. The food was incredible, the service was amazing, and when we were nervous or anxious about anything, we found that it had already been dealt with or anticipated. I cannot state enough how impressed I was with the staff's professionalism and warmth in all areas, from Mary when we were dropping everything off and corresponding, to the wonderful wait staff and bar staff who were so kind and helpful, to the staff members who went above and beyond and helped to keep me relaxed before I walked down the aisle, even going to grab my vows out of my purse for me when I realised I had forgotten them! For anyone planning a vegan wedding, I would very highly recommend Ballyseede, as the canapés were inventive and delicious, including a vegan cheese board and wonderful selections of tofu and garlic hummus crostinis, as well as chocolate dipped strawberries to go with the mulled wine and hot chocolate that was sourced for our guests. The meal was incredible, with the risotto, lasagne, salads, soups, and apple and pear crumble all standing out for us and those with us. Our only regret is that we couldn't eat more, and had to leave some of the beautiful food behind due to the incredibly generous portion sizes, we counted seven different types of potato in the side dishes alone, and they were all delicious! Finally, I need to state how impressed we were by the Covid related protocols in place. All staff wore masks at all times, there were several alcohol gel stations in easy reach, and every precaution had so clearly been taken without creating a clinical or stressful atmosphere. It really put our minds at ease and I will never be able to thank you enough. Thank you so, so much for everything you did for us and our families, the decor of the castle, the beautiful food, the genuine kindness of your staff, stunning grounds, and gorgeous rooms will be spoken about in our family for years to come.

The hotel is lovely, beautiful old castle. Food is good and reasonably priced. Just a few things that left a sour taste, but these in our opinion were the servers fault not the hotels. We ordered coffee, we got tea. We ordered soup, no spoon, had to walk around looking for a server to get one. Final straw was ordering a toasted sandwich on brown bread, it came made with white. In my humble opinion, the server was more interested in making jokes and being funny than making sure we received what we ordered. We could see the annoyance of these errors of the other servers face, as she had to correct them. Beautiful place but because of this we could book somewhere else in the future.
