Ballyseede Castle is a fun, beautiful property in a great location to start off or end a tour round the Ring of Kerry or Dingle Peninsula! We arrived around 10pm, but Christopher kindly opened reception back up for us and showed us our beautiful room. The decor was lush but understated, with some fun and funky touches throughout. We had a delicious cooked-to-order breakfast in a beautiful stone room, and Esther and Vilte were fast, friendly, and perfect staff. The highlight of the castle are the two dogs, Hope and Molly, who are friendly and have the full run of the place. We loved our stay here and would certainly come back.
I wish we could have stayed longer!! Everything about Ballyseede was lovely...the staff, the grounds, the rooms, the food. Our room was so comfortable, I would have loved to spend more time just lounging there. However, the grounds were beautiful! There were animals to visit, dogs to pat and a path to explore. We had a great dinner with interesting options to taste! The breakfast buffet was just ok - but that could have been due to everyone (tour bus) showing up at once. We ended up ordering breakfast off the menu and it was delicious! If you stay here, definitely make enough time to really explore!
Very elegant throughout. The beds were very comfortable and spacious. The gardens are beautiful. The hotel is tucked away in a private setting that makes it feel that much more special. The staff was very friendly and quick to help. You feel privileged and special to stay there - what an experience!
I would really like to recommend a beautiful hotel I just visited, Ballyseedy castle hotel Tralee co.kerry Ireland..Upon entering the castle was greeted by a wonderful staff member, Esther, couldn't of been more obliging, offering to give me her knowledge of the castle which is fascinating by the way, enjoyed a wonderful coffee and continued to walk around the beautiful grounds..It's no wonder that this castle is an award winning hotel, it offers luxury accommodation, award winning food, woodland walks, and having staff like Esther, very welcoming atmosphere..Can't wait for my next visit, hope to stay longer next time!! Sinéad kehoe..
Stayed here in early May in one of the Jr Suit rooms. The room was very large and stunning, great views in every direction. The dinner was the best food I have eaten. I got the Hen's egg and beef. This was the best egg/beef I have ever had. I was completely blown away by the quality of the food.
My daughter and I stayed one night at Ballyseede and it was one of the highlights of our trip. After checking in our spacious castle family room (with two full sized beds, as requested even though not guaranteed), we ate dinner and drank wine in the pub. The server was very personable and chatted with us about his stay in the states. We loved the charming castle dogs and enjoyed loving on them as they roamed about. The staff were very accommodating and quickly helped us get our very heavy bags up to the third floor (castles have no elevators of course) and out to our car when we checked out. The view and the room were beautiful! Breakfast was delicious and made to order with plenty of bread/party products on buffet. EXCELLENT!
We had three well appointed rooms to experience our one night in a castle in Ireland. We enjoyed the gardens and both dinner and breakfast in a lovely dining room. But what makes the stay enjoyable is the staff and Molly, the Irish Wolfhound. We will always remember how well we treated by Ester and her kindness in giving us travel tips and taking our picture outside the castle.
There is nothing bad I can say about our stay. This was probably our favorite accommodations of our entire 10-day trip. The Superior Room was beautiful and very spacious. The bar area was nice and relaxing. Typical bar menu with a little flair; small plates, sandwiches and desserts. The breakfast was amazing and cooked to order along with a buffet of pastries, bread, cereal and yogurt...the scones are top notch! The grounds were beautiful as well with trails leading to a larger public trail system. The two dogs on site are very calm and well behaved, however, the little white puffy groomed one (Bichon?) will sit at your feet if you have a little food...but in a cute way. The Irish Wolfhound will just lay there and enjoy the outdoors with you. The cleanliness of this hotel is next level! There was always a crew working at keeping everything spotless. We truly felt like royalty staying at this Castle!…
We visited Ballyseede Castle over the weekend for a family wedding. On the outskirts, the castle is amazing, set in the countryside with lots of woodland, fields and wild flowers. This can be appreciated by the many walking areas around the grounds and the large amount of garden furniture, allowing guests to kick back in the garden and take it all in. Great after the wedding meal. The reception rooms allow guest to wander unrestricted and experience how life was lived many years ago in this castle. Our room was a large double with a great size bathroom and a wonderful large, powerful shower. Room are quiet and so comfortable. The food was excellent. Great choice and staff were friendly and efficient. I could not fault my stay at Ballyseede. I would like to have stayed for a longer period as it is an ideal spot for chilling out and destressing. It does not have that panic and rush of other hotels. Highly recommend for anyone who wants me time to wind down from the stresses of life and get back to nature in a safe environment.…
One of my favorite hotel stays ever. Truly memorable castle experience and the room price was very reasonable. The common space and castle rooms are gorgeous with beautiful gardens. Breakfast was included and was terrific. We also had a delicious dinner at the castle with terrific service. Staying here was like visiting an extra attraction. My whole family agrees that it was one of the top highlights of our one week vacation in Ireland.
