Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This review is not personal, but relates to family and friends. John Keane is the most accomodating gent I have ever known. My family was traveling in the Tralee area in mid-June. I contacted John from the US and arranged a voucher for my son and his family. Things were flawless. The dinner was perfect. You just can’t ask for better service. John Keane is a true gentleman.

This stay was booked months ahead of time. We were driving a rental car on a loop route all the way around the island of Ireland. We drove from Doolin on Monday, May 22, 2023 and were delayed first by the Doolin Ferry being late, then by the Shannon Ferry to arrive much later than we expected, arriving about 8 PM instead of 6 PM. The owner of Keanes, John greeted us at our arrival. He said we were late, I explained why. I asked if we could get some snacks since we had not eaten for about 6 hours. Even though the kitchen was closed, he offered to make us some deep fried Haloumi, a Beet Salad and French Fries. He cooked it himself for us and waited on us until past 9:30 PM with a couple of glasses of wine as well. I know he did not have to do that, so it was very kind. This is a wonderful nicely appointed B&B, with a full bar and restaurant. The view is spectacular with a sheep meadow just beyond the premises, a cattle pasture beyond that and the water of the ocean bay past that. Our room, also with this view was great. Breakfast in the morning was unsurpassed quality and huge variety. We loved the smoked salmon. John was also there early in the morning serving us anything we wanted on the breakfast menu. We loved watching the little lambs in the meadow romping and playing. This place is very highly recommended by us. Thank you John for treating us so well.

An amazing hotel. In a great location for touring The Ring of Kerry and Dingle. Breakfast was lovely and set you up for the rest of the day. The owner John was more than helpful with advice on where to go and what to see. Our room above the patio had amazing views and was very comfortable. Thank you John for a wonderful 5 day stay.

From start to finish the owner made us very welcome. Made sure we had everything we needed without being invasive. The setting, food, service and ambiance could not have been improved on. We stayed overnight in our motorhome, with permission, and had one of the best meals whilst on our three week WAW tour. Thank you for the wonderful hospitality.

We recently had dinner in the restaurant of Keane's of Curraheen on a couple of occasions. The food was absolutely delicious ( cooked by John, the owner). Any dietary requirements were attended to and the service by John and his staff was excellent. The scenic setting of the restaurant is also a bonus with decking to the rear to sit outside on fine days, overlooking the sea. I definitely recommend eating here. There is also a bar and a beautiful fire for those chilly evenings.

Nice, small, 5 rooms country-style hotel. Rooms country style minimalist furnished with all you need. Due to travel purposes, we used only breakfast services. Because it is a small hotel it is served and you can choose from the menu and get as much as you wish. Gret for short stay, especially if you are planing visiting sorounding area like Kerry ring road.

Now, I could repeat the all the positive things about Keanes mentioned in other reviews, but I want to take this opportunity to laud and applaud what real customer service/care looks and feels like. After a long drive and a booking nightmare (my fault) at a previous guesthouse, it was just a relief to pull into Keanes. When I told John about my previous booking error, he didn't just nod and mutter a sympathetic sentence. Nope. He took all of my remaining four bookings and called each one to make sure that I hadn't repeated the same mistake again. I'm still a bit opened mouthed in awe. John didn't have to do this for me, but his kindness and generosity enabled me and my party to continue our journey without any worries about the bookings for our accommodation. John, all five of these stars are for you. Again, thank you so much.
