Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

After reading lots of great reviews last year we decided that we would like to see this part of Ireland and there was only going to be one place on my list and that was here , I booked it as soon as the booking season opened , and when Covid hit and restrictions put in place I didn’t think we would get to go , however when restrictions were lifted and we got the all clear we couldn’t wait to arrive .

After a beautiful scenic drive from Dublin to Kerry we arrived to a warm welcome , I had pre paid before I came so I just had to leave a €10 deposit for the key fob for the electric barrier . We were directed to our pitch which was fantastically located right beside the kids play ground which meant I could relax in the evenings while I watched my kids have the time of their lives .

With beautiful spotless clean facilities , and free showers and a hair dryer , and a campers kitchen there was nothing more you could ask for .

11 pm curfew is exactly what I look for and kids playground was locked up at this time , there were families sitting outside their tents having quiet chats with no excessive noise after the curfew time which is perfect for my little family .

With Tralee and Killarney on your door step ,and the ring of Kerry not so far away either and day trips to inch beach and Dingle it was a holiday to remember .

With great service from the family owners and Two crying children when leaving yesterday it’s a testament to the beautiful campsite and a holiday my kids will cherish forever .

Thank you woodlands we will most certainly be back to visit again soon

Arrived here one day after the park reopened after the Covid 19 restrictions. Wow what a beautiful park. Quick check in and then could pick our own pitch. This park has to be one of the best. The facilities are great and everything is spotlessly clean. There was endless hot water for free showers and the toilets were always spotless.
We had a problem with our awning and the owner was very helpful. We ended up taking it down due to a very windy night and he kindly stored it for us until we were leaving. There was a great mixture of ages from couples to full families. Children seemed to love it there as there is a lovely playground and beautiful smooth tarmac roads throughout where they could cycle safely. There was always plenty of hand sanitizer and great bin and recycling facilities. Very peaceful at night and very handy to shops.
Overall a great park and run by a very friendly professional family. Looking forward to a return visit.

Just leaving after spending a fantastic week here. This site is such a credit to the owners, it is absolutely spotless and has everything you could need. Quiet at reasonable hour at night (owner around making sure of this).
Great playground, soccer field, table tennis, games room (pool & air hockey) tv room, campers kitchen (big freezer, big fridge, hob, kettle) hot showers all day with no extra charge. Very safe for the kids, flat cycle / scooter paths.
Really close to Tralee town, very short walk through gorgeous park with massive brilliant playground in it.
Beautiful scenery all around. Lidil & aldi very close by. Ideal base for sightseeing in Kerry. Definitely going to come again next year. Best site for a tent we’ve been to! Loved it!

I booked 4 nights Monday to Friday for our caravan and awning for myself my husband and our 4 children aged 2 to 11. When we arrived we were placed in a pitch which was next to the playground. The hard pitch was on a slope just below the gamesroom and the main building with toilets.the grass part where our awning was to be set up was completely water logged and muddy. As we were standing there assessing the ground a man who had been camping in a tent with his family came over to us and said I hope u like muck and that his tent was getting flooded from the run off water from the hose people were using to clean off their equipment up by the games room and laundry room. We were there in a red warning storm. When we initially set up our awning it was covered in muck from the start the more we walked around the murkier it got our children were constantly slipping and falling in it destroying all our clothes. As we just arrived we said this is it we will make the most of it and stay. On the third night of our stay storm Ellen came and our ground was getting more flooded and when we went up to the toilet area the whole place was flooded where tents had been the night before all the people in tents had left before the storm but apparently after heavy rain the Sunday that whole area was flooded too and those tents got completely flooded up by the toilets and those people had to abandon their tents for the tent. After storm Ellen all that flood water by the toilets ran down the slope where our caravan and awning were and completely flooded our awning and turned it into a really horrible mud mess we couldn't walk in our awning without falling we decided to leave that day as we couldn't live in that anymore. As I went to check out I told the owner about the state of our awning and to not let other campers go in that area man the owner I assume just said well I cant be accountable for the weather and that plot was all he had left at the time. And basically laughed at our situation. He was rude and did not care about the condition. I walked away before i said something I would regret. As we were packing up the rest of our stuff I decided I wasn't going to let this go and while we were driving out I went back In to reception and a lady was in there and told her about all the muck she gave me a refund for the night we left early. I am just appaled that with the corona virus they had every site full people were using every plot the first 2 nights we got there tents were on top of each other we had a walk around and every site was taken. We were put into a muck site and were expected to just put up with it. We as a family have been camping for years starting in tents and now a caravan and we have camped in all weathers and never have we had to deal with a site covered in muck. They have a problem with flooding by the toilets and drainage and thats why we were totally flooded and mucky. I would not ever go back to that site again I would Not under any circumstances recommend that park and the owner is rude and uncaring.

Fiona, We have had the wettest summer in 10 years. Unfortunately we can't control the weather. Grass gets mucky when wet. We did offer to move you to another pitch but you declined, saying you wanted to be near the playground so that you could keep an eye on your children. On a seperate issue, there is nothing wrong with having every pitch occupied, even during covid 19, as our pitches are at least 6m apart and our guests can be socially distant. I could go on about many other statements you made above, most of which are entirely untue, but really, all that is left to say is that we wish you the very best of luck with your future camping holidays elsewhere. I hope the sun always shines for you. Warm Regards, Jane,

We camped for 9 nights and this was our first time in Woodlands. The location is not only the perfect gateway to the Ring of Kerry but also benefits from immediate access into Tralee town, which meant we always had lots of options available to us to make the best of our stay. hats off to the owners who have clearly invested heavily in ensuring the park is in pristime condition. This made our stay both safe and relaxed. Highly recommended !

This was our 4th and final camp trip of the season and our 1st time in Woodlands, i'm glad we saved this until last, we got a great pitch close to the playground and pitch area which was ideal to keep an eye on our 5 year old. Facilities were spotless and very friendly owners, its great to see a team take so much pride in what they do. this camp site will be added to our list of places to return to year on year. Small playground suited our 1 yr old. It is so close to Tralee Town, a 10 minute walk through Rose Park and you are there, very close to Aquadome and Cinema for those unpredictable Irish summers. Highly recommended camp site

We travelled here for a week-long stay in our caravan and we loved every minute of it. The site is clean, spacious and safe and the children had a ball, so much so that they didn’t want to leave Woodlands to go anywhere else. The management and staff are on hand at all times to make sure everything is running smoothly. We particularly appreciated the new family bathroom which made showering the younger ones much easier to manage.

I camped here with my wife and two kids, aged 5 and 6.

We were in a tent and the location for the tents was right beside the kitchen which had covered picnic tables, very handy. Also right beside toilets and showers.

The site had a lovely playground, small football pitch and basketball hoop and a small forest walk.

We loved it! The place was immaculate and immaculately well run. We’ll definitely be back.

Just on way home from Woodlands,we had the most amazing camping experience here.
This campsite is a little gem & so well kept, the owners are so friendly & helpful,we had to pitch tent in torrential downpour & they helped us out with towels & mops etc..they are lovely people & go out of their way to make your stay enjoyable. It looks like they are constantly reinvesting into the campsite as their facilities are exceptional, great laundry room, great campers kitchen & the bathrooms are constantly being cleaned by the lovely Martina. Great playground & football pitch & lovely little forest area for the kids,my three ( 6yrs,8yrs & 9yrs ) absolutely loved it here & made so many friends. I cannot find anything negative to say about Woodlands. We didn't get the weather & yes our pitch got muddy but I've seen alot worse. I 100% recommend Woodlands & we cannot wait to return next year. Thank you all so much.

I have not stayed on many campsites in Ireland as I have my own and rarely get away when the other sites are open but it’s nice to be able to give a personal view of other sites when fellow campers ask. Woodlands has been recommended to me by several who have stayed on my site.
Short picturesque walk into town, nice dog walking areas. The shower block and indeed all communal areas very clean and lots of sanitisers. The motorhome service point is well thought out. Each pitch that I saw had ehu and a water tap available. The campsite is quiet at night and the roads to it all very accessible.
I was parked close to reception and the WiFi was good.
I liked it and would happily recommend it to others.
