The service, often described as friendly and attentive, enhances the experience, although a few guests have noted occasional lapses. Spacious and modern rooms, particularly the family suites, receive commendations, though some suggest certain areas still require updating.

Detailed Reviews
The hotel has great facilities for children which include a play area outdoors, an indoor play centre and a swimming pool with different areas depending on the age of the children. They also put on entertainment for children.
The cleanliness of the room could have been a bit better but the hotel is kept very well, the staff were very pleasant and helpful and the location was great as it was only a short walk (about 10 - 15 mins) into the centre of town.

This hotel is fabulous for kids. Loads to keep them entertained between the soft play area and supervised playroom. Pool is lovely too. My daughter loved her stay and made lots of friends. Room was spotless and really comfortable. The weather wasn't good so we didn't use the parks but they looked really good. Staff are lovely and the lady who checked us in yesterday was so nice. We had dinner yesterday evening in the restuarant I did feel like it was a bit unorganized no one came over to us for us to be seated for ages even though it wasn't busy. the pub was really good and the band was amazing, I would nearly stay there again just for the band! Only small negatives showers in the changing rooms were FREEZING I saw loads complaining over it. The shower in my room wasn't working properly either and when I went to ring the reception I realised that wasn't working either. All in all I would defiantly return positives out weigh the negatives.

Adoption of COVID-19 Safety Charter from Failte Ireland, the National Tourism Development Authority, was a major factor to choose Hotel Killarney.
The protocols well implemented, from fewer tables in the restaurant to face coverings and hand sanitisers in public areas. I felt safe and comfortable.
The family bedroom was very spacious. There is a basic kitchen with fridge and microwave, very convenient for families with children. There is a playroom for toddlers and a good swimming pool for families.
The hotel is well located. Ross Castle, Muckross House and many attractions along Ring of Kerry are within a short drive.

My friends and I had a horrendous experience in Hotel Killarney. I’ve never encountered more rude staff in all of my time visiting hotels. Our greeting from the manager had no polite entailments whatsoever, all he did was threaten to kick us out playing on the assumption that we would be loud or have parties purely because we were young. We also found the restaurant very disappointing and terribly over priced. After food my friend and I found ourselves still very hungry and dissatisfied, which is ridiculous after all paying 18-20€ for a main course. The cleaning staff also never supplied fresh towels or cleaned our room over the duration of our 2 night stay. All in all we found the stay appalling and I wouldn’t recommend hotel Killarney to anybody, especially any young people.

First the positives
I found check in and the reception team very smooth and easy to deal with, we booked one of the larger family rooms with a kitchenette, while the room was very comfortable and ideal for travelling with children I would not recommend this hotel for anything else the bathrooms could do with being fully renovated and a good lick of paint is needed. it was a great base for discovering the local area with reception giving out an amazing pack with suggestions of things to do
Now to the negatives,
The service in the food area was abismal, we went for dinner here liking the look of the menu as it had something on it that would suit every member of the family.
We were first brought to a dining hall that smelled of damp. Where we had the most incompetent waiting staff ever, we were waiting 20 mins for drinks, we had ordered a 7 up and it took the staff 3 reminders to bring this. Once our orders were taking for mains which were only average, we were ready for dessert we were left sitting there for a further 20 mins waiting for someone to clear our table and offer us dessert at no stage were they overly busy, in the end we gave up and asked for the bill, explaining to the manager why, he didn't seem to grasp that we were disgruntled so we gave up an left, and ate in kitty ó seas the following night where it was amazing. After paying 65 euro for dinner and drinks we felt it was poor value for money and that all staff could do with major retaining in the hospitality sector
Would not eat here again and the poor service would actually put me off staying here again which is a shame as I've stayed here a few times over the years

Great service staff and location would highly recommend this hotel for a family holiday.
Family suite was spacious and had all we needed in it.
Under current guidelines everything was organised very well and we found it more relaxing.
Maybe when things get back to normal booking a slot in swimming pools and only allowing a certain number in at one time will be kept on in hotels.

We had such a great stay in Hotel Killarney, our first trip since Covid-19 began. We stayed for 5 nights. Itt is absolutely ideal for kids with the pool, playground, indoor jungle gym and crazy golf, so when it was raining our 4yr old had plenty to do. Our family suite with really spacious and the two rooms made the longer stay much easier with a baby and child. Our room was extremely hot, even though the heating wasn't on, we got a fan but it was still roasting, it was the only downside to it. Also we had an issue with our cot and no mattress which we addressed with reception on checkout. Other than that I cannot fault the hotel. The housekeeping staff are so accommodating and friendly, always smile and say hello. We ate one evening in the bar area and the staff were lovely and food was gorgeous. Breakfast was average, it did the job. Breakfast staff were ok, always seemed under pressure which is understandable due to Covid-19 restrictions. Reception on our visit were just OK, reception is the face of the hotel, the first interaction you have with the hotel, it doesn't cost a thing to have a welcoming smile on your face and a friendly demeanour. Overall I would highly recommend Hotel Killarney for families, it is extremely clean, great location and fantastic amenities.

Stayed in July 2020 as a 5 of 2 adults and 3 kids (8,6 & 3). Stayed in a family suite, very spacious room with a separate living area and fridge and microwave which came in very handy with the kids. Room was quiet low on toiletries, 2 shower gel/shampoo given between 5 of us for our arrival, not a show stopper but something to be mindful of for the future. The pool area was lovely and you had to book your time in advance the day before, you couldn't use the showers afterwards but we wer made aware of this before our trip. The hotel is ideally located in Killarney for site seeing, its about a 15min walk into the town with footpaths the whole way. There is a kids softplay area and play room and movie room which you need to book your kids into but again its ideal, our kids used the big soft play area & 1 adult has to remain for the 30mins duration. The kids really enjoyed it. We ate lunch and dinner, food was nice. You had to prebook for breakfast and you wer allocated a seat and then queued up for the buffet and it was served up to you, tea/coffee, juices and toast wer brought to your table by your server. All in all a great stay, this was our 2nd time staying here and we will return again.

First of all, it's great to be back! We stayed here on mid-term 2020, and just returned to stay again 2 years later.
I've been here many times, with friends and family. The last few visits have been as a Dad, with my wife & 3 kids in tow. This time, we stayed in 2082, suite with adjoining rooms, for a Fri & Sat night. The suite is really rather good, 2 modern tvs, couch, 3 beds, kitchenette with toaster/fridge/sink, a good fit for a couple with 3 kids. The wifi was phenomenally improved from 2 years ago, downloads now at 94mb, uploads about 80, excellent.
With 3 kids needing entertaining, this hotel has a good amount to occupy them. We went to the pool on both days, found it clean, well run, and good fun. It can get quite busy, but we managed to enjoy ourselves even with the large numbers. It has a jacuzzi, and a very good and hot compact sauna. Also has a steamroom which we did not use. There is a games room with some video games and air hockey, and a playroom where kids play football. Outside, there is a crazy golf course, with putters and golf balls supplied.
Breakfast was buffet - bacon, fried/scrambled eggs/beans/waffles/pancakes/waffles etc, and has cereal, toast, juices, all the usual suspects, all well stocked, for a well busy breakfast room!
The staff were very friendly throughout the hotel, one tall dark haired chap stood out in particular, seemed delighted to see us anytime we met. The atmosphere did seem 'happier' compared to previous visits.
The hotel is situated just on the periphery of Killarney town, a short walk, or a cheap taxi fare will get you there in no time. So, it is also a good base if you plan on exploring Killarney and other Kerry landmarks. See you soon again hopefully!

We had a nice stay at the hotel for 3 nights. The hotel itself is basic and dated but it’s clean and staff were friendly and helpful. Our bedroom was spotless but no air conditioning but we were able to open windows and the shower always had warm powerful water. The stuff overall were nice and helpful and the systems they have in place works well for social distancing etc. I felt safe while staying there. It’s was good value for money. Thanks Killarney hotel we will be back with the kids again

No, and it was absolutely roasting in the room.
There was music in the bar from Wednesday to Friday nights, we moved on on Saturday, but I assume Saturday would be a given!
It wasn’t my cuppa tea, we went into town most evenings!
HI, as per legal requirements children are not permitted in our bar after 9.30, however, they are allowed in our lobby after that time.
