Greta is a superb hostess who made our stay very enjoyable. She’s such a warm person and loves her guests. She had great dinner recommendations and directions to the old town area. We enjoyed a guided tour of the Ring of Kerry, thanks to Greta’s suggestion. The rooms were clean, beds were very comfortable and good water pressure in the shower. Breakfast was excellent, thanks to Alfie. We love her scones. There is a small fridge right by the entrance where one can store food that needs refrigeration. Thank you, Greta and Alfie, for a memorable stay.
We spent three nights in this comfortable B&B in a quiet neighborhood within easy walking distance of old town Killarney, the train and bus stations. Breakfast each day was a highlight with cherry scones baked by host Greta a special treat. Greta truly enjoys her guests and makes you feel like one of the family. A great place to stay!
My husband and I stayed at the Albert House for 2 nights in May. The location is an easy walking distance from the train, buses and the happening town. Greta is a warm and welcoming hostess full of positive energy. Mr. Greta offers 5 tasty breakfast options and Greta makes delicious cherry scones. What a relaxing and wonderful place to stay because it is a great example of the kindness you get in Killarney.
Prior to our upcoming trip to Killarney, I reached out to Greta to confirm our arrival time. Her prompt and friendly reply set the tone for a lovely stay in her B & B. The accommodations were spotless, the food delicious and her ability to go toe-to-toe with one of our traveling companions, who by nature is quite a tease, kept us entertained throughout our stay. Greta offered a dinner suggestion that worked out beautifully on Easter Sunday and when we told her about some of our plans, she made suggestions that were very appreciated and helpful. In addition to this, the location was a short walk to dinner, shops and pubs which made our evenings fun and easy after full days of sightseeing. Don't miss out on Greta's hospitality!
We spent 3 nights at the beginning of our tour of Ireland at Algret House. Greta set the tone for the rest of our trip right from the beginning! We called 24 hours in advance to confirm our approximate time of arrival, which was appreciated by Greta. I hung up the phone and told my husband I love her already. We were greeted with the warmest welcome we received in all of Ireland! The room was clean, well appointed with all the necessities, and had a beautiful view. Greta gave us a map for our walk to town, and a few recommendations for dinner. In the morning we enjoyed a delicious breakfast prepared by the very talented Alfie, and Greta presented us with delicious freshly made cherry scones. We were disappointed to have to leave this wonderful place, as we were made to feel right at home from the beginning! If we ever find ourselves in Killarney again, we will absolutely stay at Algret House! Thank you very much Greta & Alfie for a memorable beginning to our trip!…
From her welcoming smile to her caring and accommodating nature, Greta will make your stay at her B&B as delightful as it gets. Very clean, very convenient to the town center (8 minute walk). One very welcomed surprise was to discover an espresso machine (K-cup style) in our room. Lovely!
Greta was the most lovely host! Breakfast was delicious and she couldn’t be more accommodating! The room was perfect with a lovely sized en-suite bathroom and was especially great to have the fan in the room before we arrived. Would definitely recommend and will definitely be back for Greta’s Cherry Scones!
Very comfortable beds, and a good size room. Excellent shower, big and powerful. Absolutely delicious breakfast with great vegetarian options - Greras cherry scones are unbelievable! Close to town but still quiet area. Greta is an excellent host, and it was fabulous value for money
Such a lovely place, we were warmly welcomed and Greta was so helpful when booking and arriving. Rooms spotlessly clean, comfortable and bathrooms and hot showers were a luxury as we had been camping. Friendly , hospitable and fantastic breakfast & service. ( not a problem finding vegetarian and vegan food options for breakfast either- we all left full and well fed) Very short walk into Killarney too. Great Value.
