I should be clear that the three star rating here is meant to indicate that this is a perfectly average, acceptable place to spend a night while you're traveling through. The rooms are small but comfortable, and the king bed was a very nice option. The room and bathroom were clean and well maintained. They offer a large communal bin of supplies like shampoo and deodorant, which is a nice touch. They only put body wash in the room (no shampoo, unless the stuff is meant for both, which you wouldn't know as it is not labeled). They also offer free, cold bottled water which we really appreciated. The morning service was incredibly friendly (thanks Margaret!) and it certainly appears that the hotel cares about their guests comfort, but the initial greeting was short, cold, and made at least one of our traveling companions feel as though we were imposing upon the woman by asking questions about nearby tourist locations. The coffee needs a significant upgrade. The breakfast they offer is basic, but generally fine. The biggest problem with the property is the property itself. The location is far from ideal. The hotel is in a commercial area, with construction across the street and, more of an issue, a yoga studio next door that invites middle aged women who enjoy loud, expressive conversations before an early morning class. The rooms are a bit stuffy and warm, so leaving the windows open was pretty much necessary, and the yoga squad definitely woke me up early. Further, It is farther from the city center than most options. It's still walking distance, but it takes some time. If you're staying for a night or two this is a perfectly acceptable option. If you're trying to spend some time in the city you could probably find something more suited for that type of trip.

Stayed for just one night and would definitely recommend staying here. Ciara was so welcoming and helpful when we arrived. The room (family room) was just great. Complimentary tea/coffee/hot chocolate with the lovely added touch of mini muffins which were definitely enjoyed! Breakfast was so tasty and cooked to perfection. Yogurt and fruit is a must, as are the pancakes. It was reassuring to see the covid cleaning procedures (eg, at breakfast bar) yet, not in your face which was great. A very short stroll to town centre. We'll definitely be back, without a doubt! Thanks to Ciara and team.

I would definately recommend to stay here. Ciara was so welcoming upon arrival. The room was modern, clean and the bed was so comfortable. At night the house is really quiet and peaceful. There is a tv room you can use to your own liking also. There is a hamper you can use upstairs and it is such a nice treat if you forget your own shampoo, deodrant etc. In the hallway was tea, cappucinos and little muffins to use and eat when you want to which was another lovely treat from Killaran House ❤ I would highly recommend to book in for breckfast. Definately the best ive ever had. It was cooked to perfection. My son loved his pancakes too. The waiting staff was so polite and accommodating. Overall a 10 from us 😀

I received a friendly email a couple days before our stay politely inquiring about checkin. Checkin was accompanied by a map with restaurant locations and write ups. The hallway has a station for borrowing adapters, forgotten toiletries, spare heaters, and kettles for making tea. I’m overly impressed at how they go out to make us feel welcome.
