Detailed Reviews
We stayed at Oaklawn House B&B in March and had a wonderful time! I was surprised that this B&B was not listed here yet, as it has won many awards in the town of Killarney. The rooms were beautiful, ours was toward the back of the house, everything in wood. The beds were great. The breakfast was wonderful. There were sitting areas all around the house, and well maintained gardens. Oaklawn is very close to town, all of a five minute walk to some great food and entertainment! We stayed in several B&B's on our two week trip, and Oaklawn House was definately toward the top of the list. We would definately stay there again!

Shh! Be very quiet when you stay here. The walls are very thin. We could hear all the bathroom sounds from the room next door. Having said that, the room though was clean, comfortable, had extra blankets and pillows as needed and had plenty of shower space. No washcloths though. I prefer a washcloth when showering.
It is centrally located so it's easy walking distance to the bars and restaurants and the park.
The owner, Rosemary, can come across as being a bit harsh. However, get to know her a bit. She is a wealth of information and friendly. I give her credit for all the work she does to keep the house running as smooth as it does.

Beautiful B&B with a fabulous cooked to order breakfast. Hospitality is the byword at Oaklawn. Close to downtown, yet tucked snugly out of the way off the main road. Can be challenging to find, but worth the hunt for this treasure. Hint, the side road to the B&B is located directly across the road from the Amber petrol station. Our hostess was thoughtful and kind. We hope to return, but until that fine day I highly recommend this wonderful B&B.

Killarney has so many options.... this one should only be used if there is any other option. Very clean, but very minimal and much of the furniture broken and unkept. Breakfast was very minimal and burnt. The owner was very rude and abusive to such a degree that we had to change hotels... litterally running to get away. I have traveled all over the world in a variety of 5 star to hostel type lodging. I would have slept in my car the next night had we not been moved to a new hotel. I feel as a customer, there is never a reason to be abused by an operator in a high volume tourist area.

I had read reviews about Oaklawn house so was reassured that it was a nice place. However, i was thoroughly dissappointed with the service in particular. Oaklawn itself is clean and within close proxomity to kilarney. However, i found the manner of the lady there very rude. Maybe we just caught her on a bad day but i assumed with all the other competition out there in Kilarney, that service and hospitality would come top of the list. She kept ringing us to see when we would arrive and were we sure we would be taking the room, how more sure could we have been. The next morning, we got a loud knock around 10.00am on the door telling us to get up that she needed the room. She had not mentioned this when we were checking in. My sister and I hurried to have showers etc. During the course of this, she knocked our room door a further 4 times. All we wanted to do was get out of there. I then opened the room door and she was standing in the hall waiting for us, we had about four bags and my sister had to collect her car down the town. As i was on crutches, i really struggled with my bags and felt it so rude that we were not offered any help when bringing our bags out. I had to stand in the porche area while my sister got her car. The lady did offer me a chair after about 5 minutes but i felt she was so disrespectful and rude towards my needs. These are the main points but i am so annoyed to even right more. I will never stay here again.

Stayed at oaklawn nice property near the town bit dated but acceptable. Got a knock on the door at 10am without being given notice that we had to check out by that time. Was all a bit rushed to be honest. Nice lady runs it bit stand offish at first but nice once you get talking to her. The 10am knock on the door would put me off staying here again

Oaklawn is definitely a 4 star B&B and a perfect location to walk into town and enjoy the evening. Our group of 10 enjoyed the ambience and comfort of the B&B. IrishTourism, Tina O'Connor, booked this wonderful stay along with our 2 week whirlwind drive of Ireland. We also had IrishTourism book our driver and van. Wonderful stay at Oaklawn.

When we arrived in Killarney we came from a different direction and just missed it as the access road looks like a driveway so we turned around and bam it was there. Oaklawn House is tucked back in on a keyhole type of street so it is very quiet yet just a short walk to the City Center of Killarney. We liked the fact that we did not have to drive anymore the first night there as all the excitement was a short walk away. Our Hostess, Rosemarie, is a very warm and delightful women and an excellent cook as the breakfasts were to order, fresh and tasty. Our room was up in the back and was comfortable and very quiet. This is a perfect place to base yourself to enjoy the City of Killarney and surrounds. Thanks Rosemarie!

We stayed at the Oaklawn B&B and had a wonderful time. The property is very clean and well maintained. The best part is that it is very close to town so it's a short walk to shopping, pubs and sightseeing. If you're driving it's a short drive to Ross Castle and the nearby lakes. Our room was nice, small bathroom but everything was clean. Breakfast was great and Rosemary was wonderful.

I was happy to stay again at the Oaklawn House in Killarney. The B&B is just as I remembered, which is a great thing. The B&B is located just a short stroll to the city centre and all the shops, pubs and restaurants in Killarney. It's a short drive to Killarney National Park and Ross Castle, and an excellent place to use as a base for other short trips in the area.
Our host, Rosemary, is a nice lady who welcomes her guests personally, and she is ready to give suggestions for food and activities in the area. Her breakfasts are excellent and send you off ready for a day of sight-seeing.
You would do well to stay at this lovely B&B!
