We stayed here for one night in August and wished we could have stayed longer! We were driving around Ireland and this was one of 5 B&B's we visited. It was by far the best! Alan and Serena provided us with lots of suggestions for dinner and the rooms were wonderful. We were traveling with our twin two-yr-olds and the triple room was perfect for us. The room was the cleanest of all our stays and the water pressure and temp on the shower were perfect compared to other B&B's. The price was excellent. It was on par with all of our other B&B's but it was leaps and bounds above the others in comfort and quality. We want to visit Killarney again in the future just so we can stay here longer! The only suggestion, add a few children's movies to the DVD collection. We loved the DVDs you could borrow to watch in your room but we wanted to put in something for our children and couldn't find anything. If you're going to Killarney, stay here!!

My Wife and I had Visitors from South America and wanted to show them the wonder of Killarney.
At fairly late notice we found it difficult to get a hotel so began looking at guest houses in the area.
Luckily we found Sika Lodge which proved to be a huge hit with our guests and ourselves.
Serena was charming and welcoming, Rooms were spotless and spacious ( Great Showers ) and had a great nights sleep after a busy day touring around.
The Breakfast was delicious and although the House was full to capacity Serena always made time to chat. The house has lots of extra touches such as DVDS in every room, access to a nightcap and a spacious deck area to name a few.
We were all delighted that we had come across such a lovely house and to be truthful, I have stayed in worse supposedly 4 star hotels at exorbitant prices.

A Gem of a find!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Well done to all involved...We wish you every continued Success

I spent three weeks traveling around Ireland with my parents this June. We stayed at B&B's all over the country, and Sika Lodge rates right at the top. The home itself is beautiful and perfectly located. It is right outside the city center and at the start of the Ring of Kerry. What more could you ask for? The condition and decor of the rooms and common areas was perfect. It was obvious that they had really taken the time to update and decorate the rooms within the last couple years. The rooms were contemporary without losing comfort. They each had nice flat panel televisions with an actual HD picture. No hideous SD stretched on a HD TV. There was a complimentary bottle of water that was refilled each day along with a small treat, a Kit Kat in my case. The owner, Serena, was friendly, enthusiastic, and very helpful with plans and food recommendations. She talked about being a foodie and it showed at breakfast time. We were always given five choices, including a full Irish breakfast, delicious pancakes, potato pancakes with black pudding, and even some vegetarian options. The presentation and flavor of each meal was excellent. A great way to start the day! I would not hesitate to recommend this B&B to friends and family and strangers on TripAdvisor. I would also not hesitate to stay here again. Not sure when I'll make to Ireland again, but if I am near Killarney I will be staying at Sika Lodge.

My wife & I stayed at Sika Lodge B&B in Killarney, Ireland, from 22 May 2014 to 25 May 2014. The accommodations were terrific, the morning breakfast was wonderful and, most of all, the proprietors, Serena & Alan Delaney was fabulous people. In particular, Serena (who is on the premises most all the time) gave us suggestions on where to go and what to see. Since we did not arrive with a set itinerary we were most appreciative of her suggestions. Serena suggested we hike the Gap of Dunloe, a 10k walk through a mountain gap in the forest of Killarney that ended with a boat ride through the lakes (3) of Killarney. It turned out to be the highlight of our holiday. I couldn't more highly recommend staying at Sika Lodge...you'll love it! Bill & Glenn, New York, USA

The Sika lodge is well situated for visiting Killarney and surrounding countryside. It is modern and attractive. Serena welcomed us and was most helpful for our stay her advice on restaurants and areas to visit was smack on. We walked into town for Tapas in a few minutes along the edge of the park very beautiful.
To get to perfection two issues neither of which would stop us returning first the hot water was in short supply and I had a Luke warm shower, second the bed had seen better days with pinging noises from the springs.
The breakfast was excellent and we left with an excellent overall impression.

Friends and I stayed at Sika Lodge recently and had a fantastic experience. The rooms were incredibly clean, big, bright and really comfortable - and the showers were the best I've used in a B&B, better than most hotels!

Alan and Serena were fantastic hosts, they were so helpful with great tips on restaurants and things to do in and around Killarney. From the time of booking right through to leaving after our stay, they could not have been more delightful to deal with.

We availed of the new Fancy Pants Tea party as we were a group of friends that had not seen each other in a while so it was a lovely way to spend an afternoon catching up. The spread was nothing short of AMAZING. We had smoked salmon, cakes of all sorts, chocolate covered strawberries, homemade ginger lemonade and some prosecco, we left the table absolutely stuffed!

And then there was the breakfast, it was delicious. Great choice and so tasty.

I would really recommend this B&B, I will be staying here again when I am back in Killarney!

I have just had a fantastic stay at this wonderful family run b&b. I dont often write reviews, but i feel urged to share my experience of my stay. Herewith I aim to explain all my thoughts on Sika Lodge:

Rooms - the rooms are modern and very nicely decorated, in a good, not cras way. The bedrooms are light and airy. Each room has a new flat screen tv and DVD player (with access to Alan's extensive DVD collection for those rainy evenings. The beds were impossible to get out of, they were so comfortable!!! There are tea making facilities, thick carpets and lots of storage space for guests in each room.

Ensuite bathroom - all rooms had Ensuite showers, we also were fortunate enough to have a bath too.  There were all the soaps, vanity sets, and towels that anyone could need. The shower was hot and very powerful.

General b&b - Serena does a wonderful job on a daily basis on the tidiness and general upkeep of the b&b. There is a sitting room, which has a library with a range of lovely books. Like the rooms, the b&b is very homely and comfortable. The extra touch of a free nightcap of Irish Whiskey is a very nice touch.

Parking & cycling - we did not have a car as we took a coach from Cork to Killarney. The purpose of our trip was a cycling holiday. We hired excellent bikes locally from O'Sullivans, who were great. At night Serena and Alan allowed us to keep the bikes in their large garden shed. For those who drove, there is ample space for parking. By the sounds of it, if renting a car, it is best to book early.

Location to town - as I mentioned we arrived by coach into Killarney. It is a brisk 30 minute walk to Sika Lodge from the coach station. It is a 15-20 walk to the heart of Killarney town. However, most people drive, in which case it is about 4 minutes to town. There are taxis if needs be.

Location for sites - Killarney is a lovely town, albeit a tad touristy. However there are amazing sites. Before arriving I downloaded an app called Killarney on my iPhone. It is absolutely fantastic and I recommend it to anyone for any length of stay. I would recommend a short cycle into the national park, stopping by at Mucross house, Ross castle and Torc waterfall. This can be done by any level of cyclist. More challenging, for cycle or by car/horse and trap is a beautiful trip up to the gap of dunloe, the on through the black valley to the Moll's gap, ladies view and for a bit of extra distance the ring of Kerry. One day we rode the 175km round trip to   Dingle and around the peninsular, this is not for the feint hearted. For those with a car, don't miss this, the peninsular is absolutely breathtaking.

Local bars and restaurants - we took Serena and Alans' recommendations very seriously. There are loads of bars and restaurants to pick from sependihn on budget and taste. Head to the smokehouse for a phenomenal steak, go to Courtney's for drinks (and get beaten at darts by locals) and eat at Pay as you please, where you do just that!

Breakfast - oh the breakfast, what a breakfast. Every morning we were greeted by a vast selection of freshly baked muffins, cakes and tasty goods. There is freshly made fruit salad and lovely fruit juice. You are given a choice of very nice tea or coffee. To top it off, you can choose from pancakes, full irish breakfast, eggs and bacon, French toast or a smoked salmon bagel. I went for pancakes nearly every day as they were heavenly.

Serena & Alan - as you may have gathered already, Serena and Alan are amazing hosts who go out of their way to help you with suggestions of restaurants, sites and things to do. Their ability to go the extra mile is Sika Lodge's unique selling point. When booking, Serena was extremely helpful with booking out bikes and quick to respond to emails.

Value for money - the place is amazing value for money, I would come back in a flash to stay in Sika Lodge.

The moral of the story therefore is, if you are comin to Killarney, in a family, as a couple, or with a friend, stay in Sika Lodge and you will have an exceptionally comfortable and lovely time, thank you Serena and Alan.

The Sika Lodge is lovely! We stayed there for 3 nights in September while on a 15 day trip to Ireland. The location is fabulous, borders the Killarney National Park. We walked into town every evening for dinner and it's just a perfect 20 minute walk. Serena, the owner, is just so sweet and welcoming. She spent lots of time sharing things to do and suggestions, she was just a delight.
Our room was lovely and the breakfasts were yummy! I would highly recommend the Sika Lodge, you will not be disappointed. It was a highlight of our stay.

Stayed there for a couple of nights in August and absolutely loved it! Killarney is a great location to stay when visiting the Ring of Kerry, with plenty of things to do, wish we had more time there!
Sika lodge is a very comfortable B&B, very tastefully decorated, located right on the Ring of Kerry route and about 15 min walk from the Killarney town center. Excellent internet connection all around the house (which, as we noticed, is not often the case for B&Bs in Ireland).
Serena is a very welcoming host! We have arrived earlier than normal check-in time and were immediately accommodated with no problem. She gave us some very helpful hints on the activities around and some good restaurants in the town. And Serena's breakfasts is something special - we were waking up in the morning with a lovely smell of her pancakes! :)
