Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Found plenty of locals enjoying a relaxed Sunday lunch which is always a good sign along with a friendly and cheerful landlord!
Very good menu with the usual Irish Beef along with turkey / ham and chicken...a few minutes to wait for a table and chance to read the menu and order our drinks. Nice atmosphere and typical pub decor with various sports showing on screens round the walls. Seated at our table and food arrived quickly, excellent portions, tasty and hot. Finish with some very good deserts and coffee...very good value at €12 for mains and €4 for the desserts

Location a bit out of the way. But if travelling from/to Cork and Kerry a good place for a stop to eat or stay.
Staff very attentive and friendly. Service efficient. Good choice on menu. Presentation of food good. Quality very good. Prices acceptable.

This place was like a welcome beacon on the road as the first thing we saw was a sign which read “Food served all day” and it was exactly what we needed after a long and rewarding day’s hiking in gorgeous County Kerry. The food was excellent, delicious and very reasonably priced and we were well looked after by a lovely waitress called Jessica who was attentive, helpful and good humoured. Ticks ALL the boxes and will be our default stop henceforth on visits to the Kingdom.

We chose to stay at the Kerryway as the prices were more reasonable per night (after a couple of €25-30 taxi journeys to Killarney, the money we saved was negated anyway!

Big room with en-suite but the impressiveness was to the naked eye only. Long hairs found on the bedspread, floor was filthy - walked around in bare feet for 5 mins and my feet were disgustingly dirty and full of hair! Cobwebs and spiders in the bathroom, a god awful rug in the room which EVEN to the naked eye was filthy. Just felt dirty, dirty, dirty. Complained and was told it had been cleared. What a joke!
Tv in room but didn’t work, bed was uncomfortable.
Honestly folks, just don’t.

Stopped on our way to Killarney for some food. Sat outside as we had our dog with us. They were so helpful and accommodating brining out some beef ends for the dog. The food was lovely and would definitely recommend to all and we will be stopping in again.

Stopped off for a bite of lunch after a lovely few days away in Kerry. Have eaten here many times but it is NOT what it used to be. Firstly , staff were not wearing masks or face shields. Older gentleman (maybe owner/manager) had a shield which was not properly pulled over his face. Bar was grubby , uncleared tables, yet it wasn’t busy. Had a couple of toasted sandwiches which were ok . But the chips was awful . I mean vile ! Tasted like the oil they had been cooked in had not been changed in months ! Kids had baby bowl (ok) and goujons & chips. My daughter didn’t eat the chips they were that bad !
Unfortunately won’t be stopping here again for a bite to eat. Will travel on to Ballyvourney in future and eat there.
Ye really need to comply with the Covid regulations guys & also clean up the bar !! Not acceptable !

We only stayed one night but everything there was amazing.
The room was small but had everything that we needed, the mattress was really comfortable and the shower was great.
After we dropped our things into the room we had dinner, which was very tasty. We ordered the vol-au-vents and the leg of lamb roast. Which we are still talking about now. It was absolutely amazing. And also the pints of Guinness were top class.
There was a problem with the electricity in the rooms, we ended up having no power for around an hour. But the staff more than made up for that small inconvenience. Completely out of their control of course!
Special mention to Paddy, who went above and beyond to help us in anyway. Gave us free drinks while we waited in the bar that did have electricity, told us that there was a room free of charge in their sister hotel only 10 minutes away if the problem was not fixed within the hour, provided my partner with a private area with electricity so she could finish doing her hair and make up before our night out etc.
Electricity came back on within the hour and they couldn't be more apologetic and accomodating for us.

Will definitely be back again for our next trip to Killarney hopefully very soon!

My partner even forgot her license in the hotel room and the hotel posted it back to her free of charge to save us driving a 4 hour round trip to get it back.

Don't ever fall for room number one, the kitchen extractor is outside the window, which wouldn't be so bad if it was decent double glazing but they seem to have fitted the only double glazing that doesn't keep out noise or keep in heat, which may not be so bad if they weren't on a main road with noisy traffic and an extractor like a jet engine. The food was average but more than average price. The first room I got, the lock didn't work, the curtains are tissue paper so most will wake at 6am and the TV is unfathomable. Impossible to get a programme out of, even Netfix which is allegedly on it. I drive trucks and my office books me into some cheapsh😄t places, this is worse than motorway services at a much higher price. If it's not raining, better to sleep in a field 😥

Had dinner here with a few friends, we had it booked just to make sure we could get a table with only outdoor dining being permitted due to Covid. The staff are lovely, friendly & helpful. Our food was amazing full of flavour & plentiful. Very reasonably priced. I highly recommend this restaurant & looking forward to returning soon. Parking is ideal & it’s ideal for families
