Every Christmas for the past 20yrs a group of friends get together to have our annual Christmas night out which falls on me to organise for them. This time I decided to try the Victoria House Hotel and what a good choice it turned out to be. From the moment I walked into the Hotel to explore the possibility of having our annual get together there I was made to feel welcome and this continued throughout the whole process. In other words they were a pleasure to deal with. I requested that we would like to have our pre drinks reception in the main bar. This was done and on the night they reserved tables ans seating for us around there lovely fireplace. I chose the wines for the dinner. The two white wines were in ice buckets on the table when we went into their restaurant for dinner. Also on the table were the two red wines as requested, The dining room staff were pleasant, attentive , with a good interaction with our party. The quality of the meal was excellent and not one complaint received from any member of our group. The only thing that I could hear were compliments. After our meal we retired to the main bar where the women sat around the fire while the men ended up by the bar counter. Again the bar staff were excellent. I have to mention the staff at the reception desk in that they were brilliant to deal with at all times and to the General Manager Sinead and all staff in the Victoria House Hotel, thank you foe a job well done

My wife and I decided to staycation at home this year and selected Killarney as our destination. Spoilt for choice my wife chose the Victoria hotel after reading reviews on all the possible options, the customer comments about the service, food & staff were the reasons we eventually selected this small boutique hotel.
From the minute we checked in we were treated like old friends, nothing was too much trouble for Maura who was manning the reception desk, she was very friendly, efficient and extremely knowledgable about all things in Killarney as well as being fully observant of the social distancing rules etc still in force in Ireland.
We had been given a complimentary upgrade to a Deluxe Room which as well as being very well furnished and spacious had a large jacuzzi bath, a real bonus after the 300 mile trip to Killarney.
Maura recommended that we eat in the hotel as other venues only had outside eating areas unless you were a resident and that there could be long queues as venues operated on first come first served basis. Normally we would have varied our eating options but after the first night we were hooked, the food was superb on the 5 nights we dined in the hotel, freshly cooked and very flavoursome. We have stayed in top hotels in the UK, Europe and America and never experienced the level of service that we had in the Victoria, it would be unfair to single out anyone as they all provided excellent service. I really loved that your breakfast was cooked to order and not from a buffet, every morning was a delight. If you are ever in Killarney you will not be disappointed if you visit the Victoria. We are already planning another visit in the coming months, well worth the 600 mile round trip.

My husband & I booked this hidden gem for 8 friends to stay & celebrate a birthday on sat night. We were greeted with the warmest of welcomes by Maria on check in.
All four rooms were cozy, comfortable & spotless & decorated with a keen eye for being restful with functional dimmer lighting not to mention the luxurious baths.
Our food at dinner was to begin with..full of choice….from prawns pil pil to Lamb nachos & sea bass & steaks cooked to perfection.
Not to omit the perfectly executed espresso martini 🍸 beautifully served by our friendly & efficient waitress Treasa. I cannot finish without mentioning the seamless breakfast service & from rhubarb compote to Eggs Benedict & home baked breads 🥯 served by Sean.
Victoria House is a truly hidden gem in the kingdom
Can’t wait to return.

I recently stayed here and found it to be really well located. It was modern and clean throughout and the rooms were a decent size.

The bar menu had a lot to offer and the food was very good quality and served quickly once ordered.

Upon leaving I received a call from the hotel advising me I had left my mobile phone there a couple of hours prior. We agreed that I would pay for postage and it would be sent.

10 days later I still have not received my mobile and called several times trying to get an answer. Eventually someone answered and I was told to call back the following day as they had no idea when the post went out.

Today I was told it is still there and that it would be posted tomorrow. I told the person that I was given the impression as I was paying for delivery that it would at least be sent in a timely manner. I also don’t think it’s unreasonable to ask them to waive the fee for this delivery considering the delay. This was refused and I was told that it was my fault for leaving it there and there’s nothing that could be done.

If the hotel had been upfront about the delay it wouldn’t have been so frustrating. The real kick on the teeth after spending considerable money there already, was still paying delivery after waiting what will be two weeks when it does arrive.

I wouldn’t recommend returning purely based on the petty charge and delay. I know Kerry is a few hours from Dublin but sending post once a month is nothing short of ridiculous.

Stayed in this fabulous boutique hotel last week for 2 nights and will definitely be returning. Loved everything about it. The decor throughout is unique, luxurious and maybe a little quirky. Maura on the front desk gave us the warmest welcome and offered lots of advice on what to see and where to go which really added to our experience. We dined in both nights and enjoyed dinner and drinks. The breakfast was sublime and I bought brown bread to devour at home. I didn't catch the name of the lady in charge of the breakfast room but she was a little whirlwind. I was exhausted just seeing how she managed everything. The staff throughout were professional, friendly and attentive. The Alder bedroom was beautiful. The toiletries were lovely and included toothbrush kit and shaving kit just in case. There was a personalised welcome note and chocolates too. The owners have set a high standard and our experience actually surpassed my expectations. Congratulations to all working in the Victoria.

Stayed here for 3 nights and had 2 evening dinners there too. Beautifully decorated throughout and great attention to detail in every aspect of the hotel and service. Bedroom and bathroom very comfortable and well supplied. Staff all exceptionally friendly and professional. Breakfasts and dinners delicious ... we especially liked the rhubarb compote with yoghurt at breakfast. In current Covid environment we were very happy with level of cleanliness, there were plenty of sanitisers, and staff all were visors or masks. Excellent addition of lovely outdoor dining area. Great location, on doorstep of National Park, and also close to town. We walked up Torc Mountain and around waterfall one day, and rented bikes from beside hotel another day. Overall, couldn't recommend Victoria House Hotel highly enough.

The Victoria House Hotel, a small boutique hotel on the outskirts of Killarney has class and character. It is taking every effort to make you feel at hone but also adhering to strict Covid guidelines. The sanitation spray is everywhere for you to use. The staff are wearing visors or masks and so helpful that you feel they already know you. The girl at the reception desk was very efficient and professional and helped when we forgot to pack a toothbrush. We had a double room and it was very clean. The food was very tasty and well presented. Over 2 nights, we had the chowder, the prawns and the salmon and crab tian for starters followed by the curry, the roast lamb and chicken. Our desserts were strawberry and rhubarb crumble and Eton Mess, . Breakfast in the hotel had great variety and was very tasty. The yoghurt and fruit are presented in fancy cocktail glasses and the brown bread is so moist and tasty. Great Fry.

By far, the BEST experience I’ve had in years! The Victoria combines old world charm with exceptional customer service in a true family atmosphere. Special kudos to Maura who made my wife and I feel like family, assisted with dinner reservations in Killarney for a party of 11 as well as expert directions.

As we finished dinner, my daughter (who was staying at a nearby hotel) mentioned that she’d like to take a steak dinner to my granddaughter, Noel volunteered to deliver the meal to my granddaughter so it would be fresh. Never have I experienced such “over and above” service!

We’ll be back in Cill Airne in April 2022 and will not stay anywhere else!

Came here with my husband last weekend.
The hotel was nice on arrival the girl at reception was lovely we got to our room I was so disappointed there room was dark.dated and needs to be done up there the carpet didnt look very clean the bed is way to hard and the nriq wallpaper and curtains are very dated we were expecting something a bit more modern.
The food the first night easnt great any cocktail we asked for they didnt have and at €12 a pop just aswell very expensive.
Dinner the second nite was alot nicer. Breakfast wasnt nice at all 3 times I.told her my order and still got the wrong thing I asked for smoked salmon and scrambled egg on a bagel so I said it to the girl I asked for the smoked salmon and scrambled egg not just the egg then she came out with a blob of smoked salmon on another plate that was the only thing i ate as the egg was horrible the next morning i only asked for tea and toast i couldnt be bothered with anything else.
All in all the hotel was ok not what we expected so we wont be staying again
