This was my second time staying here the last time was about eight years ago. Very lovely receptionist really friendly and helpful. Check in fast got two card keys for my room. I paid €155 for the night including breakfast which I have to say was delicious, but the only thing that Les it down is the outdated decor of my bedroom. It just feels like you’re sleeping in somebody’s spare room. I remember writing the same thing in the last review in particular about a duvet cover and coincidentally it was the very same duvet cover this time, so it’s been hanging around a long time
I have to say the cleaners do an amazing job the room and ensuite were absolutely sparkly. I couldn’t forward it at all. They were tea and coffee making facilities in the room and a hairdryer but the socket outside my bed was broken and did not look safe so it needs replacing or else covering

I think with the amount of choice nowadays and everything has gone up so much in price you like to feel like you’re staying in a little bit of luxury for the night because this B&B is great friendly and great location. It doesn’t feel luxurious having said that it wouldn’t stop me going back .

The rooms are definitely not as advertised on the website. Our room smelled damp and musty, may be due to being closed for awhile, but unacceptable nonetheless. In the morning we were making tea in the room, filled the kettle and switched it. The smell that followed was absolutely unnatural and lead to the entire room filling up with a stench we could not get rid of. I dread to think what was in the kettle before we switched it on but it definitely had not been cleaned before our arrival or for a long time before that.
The breakfast room was crowded even though we had booked a slot for breakfast as per Covid guidelines. None of the staff were wearing protective equipment of any sort, and we also witnessed the waiter setting the tables with a stackof cups propped under her chin! Unsanitary in any circumstances!

Glena House seemed nice and worked out at a brilliant price for 5 of us, but once we arrived, we knew it was too good to be true.

From the moment we walked in, it was a disaster waiting to happen. Firstly, they did not have our booking, but as the place was empty, they had 2 rooms for us. The rooms are dated, they’re cold and the worst part they smell.

Our room was not so bad (1 double and 1 single) but the room next to us (1 double) had this horrid sewerage smell the minute you walked in.
Alongside the bad smell, a member of our group opened up the kettle in the room to see curdled milk, an unbelievably bad smell came from it, which caused her to throw up. The toilets also leaked across the floor which is something nobody wants to see. The noise of the traffic from outside is clearly heard as there are gaps in the windows, also causing draughts. This makes it hard to sleep.

The place was dirty, and cramped. No Covid-19 measures put in to place whatsoever. Breakfast was open plan - cold part was buffet style (which is not allowed anymore due to the virus). The fry is extremely salty, tea bags are of poor quality.

Overall, staff are not very friendly, no corona virus measures are in place, rooms are extremely old. Whole place needs a complete revamp or to be knocked down.

I would not recommend this to anyone.

I was pleasantly surprised by this B&B. You get all the comfort, clean-ness, pleasant staff, excellent service, and excellent room conditions that you would expect from a well run hotel. Plus free car parking outside, and within 10mins walk to the centre of the town. Just one thing though, bring foam ear plugs, as the noise from the road can be loud if sleeping with the windows open.

The breakfast is perfect, with a great range of choice. The fry was cooked nicely, not greasy at all. If you wanted to eat in the B&B in the evening, the B&B will happily allow you to order a takeaway and eat it in thier dining area, using thier utensils etc.

So if you can't afford a hotel, this place is a perfect option and will feel exactly like a well run hotel.

I stayed at The Harmony Inn, Glena House for two nights in October during a tour with Intrepid Travel. I booked a single supplement and had my own room with a king sized bed on the first floor. While the staff were very nice, I don’t recommend staying here. It is in serious need of refurbishment. The carpets are old and dirty looking, the bathtub had rust stains, the curtains were old and shabby looking, and the bed was very uncomfortable. I could feel the springs on the bed sticking into my back, the pillows were as thin as paper, and the comforter was far too thick given the weather (and not being able to open the window due to rain and being on the first floor). There was no sheet, and the room was stuffy. I didn’t feel the room was cleaned very well. It smelled musty, though there was a strong scent of air freshener. There was old water in the kettle, and even after rinsing it out, it smelled like something was burning when I turned it on.

A very old hair dryer was provided. There was a plug behind the nightstand next to the bed. If traveling from another county, an adaptor may be needed. There was no safe in the room, no way to lock valuables, and no privacy for the door. Perhaps I could’ve declined housekeeping at the front desk, but I locked my luggage instead and left it in the wardrobe. Only one bath towel was provided - no hand towel, no bathmat, no washcloth. A few small bars of soap were the only bathroom amenities provided.

When I returned one evening around 10pm, there was no one at the front desk and the door was unlocked.

The location was okay. It is close to the Killarney Brewing Company, and town proper is a bit further.

Again, the staff were very nice. A man at the front desk offered his umbrella to a fellow traveler, and a woman at breakfast made good, scrambled eggs one morning and gave me fresh toast. However, I recommend staying elsewhere if possible. Paying a little more would be preferable for increased cleanliness and comfort.

The only reason this place isn't getting one star is because the people working there were so nice and breakfast was decent. The place is so shabby, just not at all anywhere I would stay ,(I didn't book it, it was part of a trip through Intrepid).

There was no elevator so I had to carry my bag upstairs (it was in Ireland for weeks so it was heavy). The entire place had really old carpet which did not look clean, especially in my room where it was stained. I wore my socks because rhe carpet was so gross i didnt want to step on it in bare feet. The bed was old and lumpy and the bedding cheap children's bedding (with doughnuts on it inexplicably). The bathroom was tiny and the shower just didn't look clean, also the shower door didnt close all of the way. The bath soap was horrible. The towel was tiny. It was cold one night so I turned on the heat and could smell burning dust which send my allergies into a tailspin so I had to turn it off and just be cold.

And to top it all of, it's a little bit of a walk into town. Do yourself a favor and skip this place...opt for a bed and breakfast instead if you don't want to spring for a nice hotel.

My partner and I stayed at this accomodation for one night on the 18th August. The cost was e129.05 for a double room on the ground floor. Everything felt so cheap, from the paper thin toilet paper, ripped towels, two tiny bars of soaps were provided but no shampoo. The room floor was very stained and the bed was extremely uncomfortable with pancakes for pillows. We barely slept.

We went out for the evening and when we returned at about 11pm, there was a stench of weed at the entrance and throughout the corridors. There was no staff presence at all apart from check-in and breakfast time.

The breakfast wasn't great , again cheap ingredients for the Irish fry and I think I was given green tea instead of standard tea as it was undrinkable.

Not what I expected for 129 euro per night and for a 'luxury guest house' as described by Harmony Inn. As an Irish citizen I am actually embarrassed if this is what we are producing for our tourists at a rip-off cost more akin to a low budget hostel.

I am giving one star as the staff were very pleasant and the location is good.
