Norrie and Pat are incredibly friendly, thoughtful and communicative. They took fantastic care of us and there were multiple occasions of their hospitality going beyond the expected standards. Their house is in a very calm spot, surrounded by trees and fields, but still close to the center of Killarney. Jump in the car and you're there in 5min. The house itself is authentic, very Irish, very warm and cozy. Our room had a nice view on the garden and the bed was very comfortable. Everything was clean and inviting. Norrie serves a wonderful breakfast with varying elements. She made us bread and scones and we also enjoyed her pancakes and a typical Irish breakfast with sausages, black & white pudding and rashers. Overall, we would have loved to have stayed longer than three nights. Returning to Norrie and Pat after a day's trip felt a little like coming home.…
Norrie is an amazing host, who was so kind and helpful all along our stay. She shows so much dedication to her guests; she picked up us at the train station, dropped us at the national park and to our car later. The rooms are a bit old fashioned but comfortable. Her breakfast (we had pancakes) was also very nice. If you are looking for a very authentic b&b to stay and meet lovely Irish hosts, that's the place to go.
The owners of this property are veteran B & B-ers. Their experience shows in the design and details of this comfy, elegant home minutes away from Killarney town center. Breakfast is served in an airy conservatory. Wish we could have stayed longer.
My first time in Ireland, such a beautiful country, but if anyone is looking for a place to feel at home, I highly recommend the Alderhaven Country Home. The rooms are comfortable, the food is excellent, and Norrie will make you feel like one of the family.
Tucked away like you are in the country yet easy access to destinations. Norrie and Pat were so welcoming and their assistance in planning day trips was excellent! Saw a couple of great places that we otherwise may have skipped. Their home is lovely and the room was quite comfortable. The traditional Irish Breakfast got us off to great start before sightseeing each day. Would love to go back someday! Thanks Norrie and Pat!
Norie and Pat have created a little pocket of Heaven near Killarney. Their home is beautiful, and has everything a guest could wish for. The first thing you see when you drive in is roses, flowers galore. And so much green! The rooms are top notch, with views of the mountains. As you eat breakfast you are entertained by the antics of the many rabbits that call the Alderhaven grounds home. Norie is so lovely and gracious. Don't miss her pancakes - they are THE BEST.
Norrie and Pat are wonderful hosts to this tucked away B&B that is close to all the main roads and destinations. The rooms and space are clean and offer a great view and comfort of that "home" feeling. The traditional Irish breakfasts can't be beat and get you off to a great start. Norrie is even accommodating for substitutions if you don't eat eggs like me. Norrie went above and beyond to help and arrange the best stay and trip possible. We are thankful for such a welcome in Ireland!
We spent two nights in this lovely house and it was the best accomodation during our two week stay in Ireland. We felt very welcomed and appreciated. Location is far enough from town centre and therefore it is very quiet and felt like countryside. And yet it took us only 30 minutes to walk to the town centre and it was quite nice way to explore surroundings. Thank you very much for having us.
The drive into Alderhaven Country Home from the street is an amazing journey from the suburbs of Killarney to a secluded gem of comfort and hospitality. Our hosts were very welcoming - tea and biscuits in the front garden in the sun - and made excellent recommendations for a very interesting stay. They also booked us on a bus tour of the Ring of Kerry - they made it very easy for us to enjoy their area.
We spent two nights at this cozy B and B. The owners, Norie and Pat, could not have been more helpful or friendly. They had wonderful suggestions for us to do in the area. The breakfasts were outstanding. A full Irish breakfast on day one and wonderful pancakes on Day 2. It wasn’t right in the center of Killarney, but was on a secluded, quiet country lane. If you didn’t have a rental car, walking to town is not really an option.
