Norrie and Pat are incredibly friendly, thoughtful and communicative. They took fantastic care of us and there were multiple occasions of their hospitality going beyond the expected standards.

Their house is in a very calm spot, surrounded by trees and fields, but still close to the center of Killarney. Jump in the car and you're there in 5min. The house itself is authentic, very Irish, very warm and cozy. Our room had a nice view on the garden and the bed was very comfortable. Everything was clean and inviting.

Norrie serves a wonderful breakfast with varying elements. She made us bread and scones and we also enjoyed her pancakes and a typical Irish breakfast with sausages, black & white pudding and rashers.

Overall, we would have loved to have stayed longer than three nights. Returning to Norrie and Pat after a day's trip felt a little like coming home.

Our stay at Alderhaven exceeded our expectations! Norrie greeted my family of seven and was so incredibly kind and hospitable throughout our 3 night stay. Her breakfast was delicious, and she was so attentive- remembering throughout our stay that we had one person in our party who was gluten free. Pat shared some wonderful stories about his family and Irish history, and encouraged us to visit Cobh, which we ended up doing and loving. Overall just a wonderful stay with incredible hosts who felt like family after our time there.

Norrie and Pat were welcoming, enthusiastic and helpful hosts. My family and I spent four nights at Alderhaven country home and absolutely fell in love with the place! Everything is clean, beautifully decorated and wonderfully cozy. Norrie really makes you feel like you’re at home, and she was happy to share recommendations for local spots and sites to visit. I couldn’t recommend this place more - we’ll definitely be back!! Thank you for wonderful breakfasts and such a warm welcome to Killarney!

Norrie is an amazing host, who was so kind and helpful all along our stay. She shows so much dedication to her guests; she picked up us at the train station, dropped us at the national park and to our car later. The rooms are a bit old fashioned but comfortable. Her breakfast (we had pancakes) was also very nice. If you are looking for a very authentic b&b to stay and meet lovely Irish hosts, that's the place to go.

Our stay at Norrie and Pat‘s BnB was more than perfect! The room was clean as well as very comfortable.
Norrie was the best hostess you could wish for! She has a very warm and welcoming character and made sure we were comfortable all the time. Most of all, we enjoyed the fabulous breakfast.
All together, the stay felt like a warm hug from your gran!

Norrie could run a five-star hotel, she is a true professional. Her house is impeccably kept, the linens are the best I've ever encountered in a rented room, and the breakfast service is wonderful. Her pancakes are famously delicious. She's a top notch host and gave me wonderful advice on how to make the most of my short time in Killarney. Highly recommend!

Hosts Norrie and Pat make you feel so welcome it's hard to leave. Great food, full Irish breakfasts and plenty of choices for my vegetarian Niece. The rooms were clean and quiet and the park like setting was amazing. In town yet surrounded by trees, pastures, a yard filled with rabbits and even a Pheasant that dropped in for breakfast each morning.
We spent 4 nights at Alderhaven as we used it for our base in exploring the Wild Atlantic Way. Besides the usual terrific spots such as the Cliffs of Moher, Dingle peninsula and the Ring of Kerry, we also visited the Beara peninsula on Pats suggestion. Stunning scenery on an unspoiled and nearly deserted location. An unforgettable drive thru tunnels, over bridges and along rugged coastlines. Ireland only cable car awaits at the end of the peninsula to take you to Dursey Island if you have the time.
Tips on the local attractions in Killarney from Norrie were also spot on. From the gardens of Muckross, Ross Castle, Torc waterfalls and even the best local pubs (we loved Murphy's for the music and Failte for the food). Ask her where to pick up the best Jaunty car for a ride thru beautiful Killarney National Park!
We are already planning our next visit!

We came to stay here for two nights on our honeymoon. Alderhaven was the perfect place for us in Killarney. It has a country vibe (there was a horse grazing next door!) but is just minutes away from all the shops and pubs on the main street. Norrie was very accommodating. She had some delicious tea and biscuits ready for us when we arrived late in the day after a long trip from Galway. She even booked us an amazing Ring of Kerry tour and taxi that came to the house to pick up and drop us off. Rooms were very clean and the en suite bathroom was as well stocked with soaps and shampoos. The home-cooked breakfasts were the best start to our day (she makes some scrumptious pancakes!). We definitely recommend Alderhaven to anyone staying in Killarney!

We had driven from Dublin to Killarney (which was an adventure to say the least) and managed to survive driving on the opposite side of the road and the numerous round abouts! To add to the many missed turns at the round abouts, we missed the small Alderhaven Country Home sign and had to make the last "lets turn around...again" of the day. As we drove thru the beautiful canopy of trees heading to the country home our exhaustion from the drive was forgotten and excitement took its place are we got closer to our destination...were not disappointed. Charming, absolutely charming. Norrie is as delightful as her home and makes you feel welcome the moment you step into her foyer. We arrived late so Norrie gave us a quick tour of the house and took us right up to our quaint little room. Small room for three and all our suitcases but doable and clean (and Norrie did offer one of us a room that was available). The breakfast room has a wonderful view of a pasture complete with a horse on one side and a clothes line with laundry drying in the breeze. Breakfast was wonderful, choice of the pancake breakfast or the egg breakfast, also has fresh baked soda bread that was delicious. She also gave you a choice of cereals that also included oatmeal. Great location, not too far from town and close enough for day excursions. We only had one full day since we arrived late the first night and decided to explore the Dingle Peninsula over the Ring of Kerry which circles the Iveragh Peninsula, a much larger area. Both were recommended by other quests we met at breakfast. There are many areas to explore in this area of Ireland, I only wish we had another full day, better yet a week to do and see things at leisurely pace. Do your research of the area so you don't waste your time deciding what to do. On our way back we stopped at the local supermarket and picked up some food for dinner to enjoy in the sitting room and were also joined by a wonderful family. Also know that if you need any laundry done you will have to go a short distance to the outdoor laundry machine...yes outdoor. It is located out front of the large grocery store (I think Tesco?) with a large and small washing machine and one large dryer; plan accordingly. We would definitely stay here again, as our hostess was warm and friendly, our beds, cozy and comfortable, a peaceful view with a delicious breakfast to start our day, along with friendly chit chat with other quests...what more could you ask for? WONDERFUL B & B!
