Nice lobby and public areas. Receptionists very friendly and professional about sanitising to comply with covid 19.
The room was dated however and didn't seem the cleanest. Tea and coffee in the room was poor and provided from a plastic zipper bag which was a bit strange. This was possibly due to covid but still not good presentation and appeared cheap and not reflective of the price of the room.
Hotel is beside a busy road so this was loud at night time. As there was no air con, the room was very hot and we had no choice but to open up the windows but this didn't lead to a great nights sleep.
We didn't have breakfast in the hotel so can't say anything about that.
Lots of parking available which was good and about 15mins walk to the centre of the town.

Stayed with my sister here just this weekend, on arrival, I was met with a very abrupt woman who insisted I book my breakfast time there and then,, I can understand with covid things need to be controlled but her manner was abrupt,
Also had to pay upfront on arrival, and still give credit card details 🤔

Room. Dated, clean, street view, comfortable bed, dated shower, small towels and very little of them, shortage of plugs and none near the beds for phone charging.

Food and drink
Breakfast : excellent
Dinner in bar was nice not fantastic but nice. Service from bar and breakfast staff was good.

Drinks at the bar : expensive. 16.90 for a West Coast cooler, Bacardi and coke. Bit much in my opinion. Considering we were getting the same drinks down town for 11.70

Staff at reception, don't expect them to go over and above for you, it's rigid, cold felt and not welcoming.

** forgot phone charger was rang by a lovely girl who said I'd left it begind and I called back to be told sorry I'm dealing with a guest ill call you back. (she didn't) different girl. On my ringing again I was informed after spending 250 for the room and probably another 100 there for food and drinks we would now have to give card details to pay for postage of the charger.
2.00 euro they wanted from the card, after all d money we left there,

Also don't use the vending machine on 2nd floor it takes the cash but does not dispense items. That vending machine ows us 1.60 or a mint aero.

All in all I probably would not return,

Stayed here for one night at very short notice. The price for off season was amazing.

The room was very clean and comfortable. And although it was close to a main road there was no discernible traffic noise.

Will definitely choose the riverside again without hesitation.

Breakfast was a combination of cold choices on a buffet arrangement with hot selections ordered at the table and served promptly. The food was good quality and was piping hot.

I really can’t fault anything and would recommend this place to anyone.

Looking forward to our break after everything. The best of the hotel is the reception area. The rest of the hotel a little tired. Family room not very spacious. One of the receptionist very nice and helpful but the second girl not so. Booking breakfast was a bit of a pain because you only got what ever time was left. We had 7.45 on one morning and 11.00 on another. We were here for four days and the rooms can't be cleaned towels and toilet paper etc left outside your door in a plastic bag. We went sightseeing and had something to eat arrived back at the hotel and could not get a drink unless we paid 9 euro each for something to eat. We were a family of four so 36 euro before we could get a drink at the bar. We declined as we had already eating. We did book the bar for food on another night so we could watch a match but because of the only booking time left we didn't get to see all of the match. The whole experience was very poor.

Reasonable priced hotel a 5 minute walk to the town , clean rooms good staff , big spacious lobby to relax .
Breakfast was served with a booking time to make sure no congestion each morning . I,d assume when restrictions are finally lifted you can go down anytime .
Had dinner in the restaurant one evening, battered fish and chicken pasta dish . Very nice.
Few beers in the bar ,the lads were all friendly and polite .
The room was 316 large room on the corner. Spacious and clean lots of storage . Wardrobe with safe . Tea and coffee with kettle .
Iron and trouser press . TV is a bit on the small side . Bed was very comfortable.
It is close to the vending machine just outside which can be quite loud when people use it late at night . When the bottle drops maybe some foam padding in the box to stiffle the bangs .
I would stay again as its a reasonable price to pay for what you get.

After a long year myself and my partner were really looking forward to a break away! I have to say that this hotel is in the perfect location for touring the county and such a beautiful area. Upon arrival we were greeted at reception by two lovely receptionists, under such circumstances they made us feel at ease and welcome at the hotel.
The room was nice, could use a lick of paint and fresh carpets as there was a lot of staining on both the walls and the carpets.
We had dinner in the bar the first night and the restaurant on the third night! The food was incredible and the service was even better! Special mention to I think his name was DJ who went above and beyond for us for dinner in both the bar and the restaurant on both nights and was there for breakfast also, also a special mention to Anna who at breakfast each morning was attentive and helpful. Nothing was too much for the staff in this hotel!

So disappointed we our stay.. The staff were lovely.. and rooms were clean. I feel if people are paying good money to stay at your hotel they should be able to sit and relax and after the appropriate time be able to get a drink sent to their room after 9pm.. we are the type of couple that go exploring the area we are in.. which was fantastic .. but then having to go up town to get food and a relaxing drink is just a pain.. I understand we all have to follow the guidelines but the guidelines say notting of closing bars in hotels at 9pm..

From the walking in the door this hotel just felt like a home away from home. Both myself and my wife were given a very Warm welcome from Aoife as she checked us in...the roome had was spacious and had the highest level of cleanliness inside. All our nervousness around restrictions for covid were instantly relieved at the level of care the staff showed and followed throughout our entire stay. Gearoid who was the manager that was there at the time, made us feel completely at ease and very welcome. The food and service was brilliant and would recommend this venue and we will most definitely be visiting again soon.

Hotel requires some investment in both rooms & common area. Bedroom was old fashioned, carpet was dirty & bathroom was grotty. Breakfast was average - fruit was tinned and we were charged extra for Americano/lattes coffees. Overall, I wouldn’t recommend this hotel, it doesn’t feel like a 4 star.

My husband and I have returned from a 3 night stay at this hotel. My parents also stayed for 3 nights. The hotel is nice and in a very good location. Great that there is parking, especially important for my elderly parents. The staff are friendly, efficient and helpful. The bar staff really stand out though. They are always on the go, serving, clearing up, and keeping the fire going. The fire was a Godsend. Nothing is any trouble for the bar staff. They go above and beyond to ensure that you are served quickly and that you are comfortable. Well done guys and girls. The food is very good. During our stay, we had all our meals at the hotel in the bar. There is a great choice of food, it is of good quality, served really hot and nicely presented. A suggestion would be to have a few different things on the specials menu every day. It would make it more interesting especially for people like us who took all our meals in the bar. The rooms are comfortable, although the furniture is a little dated. Our rooms were at the front of the hotel and were noisy due to the traffic. The road outside is quite busy. This didn't pose a problem for my parents as they are hard of hearing but it was a bit noisy for my husband and me. The room was very clean and well presented as was the bathroom. The shower was not very powerful though and it made it very difficult to rinse shampoo and conditioner from hair. Other suggestions for the hotel would be to have it warmer as it can be a bit chilly. Also, some nice fresh flowers in the lobby would look good as would a nice scent that you notice as soon as you walk in the front door. I didn't notice any background music in the lobby during the weekend but I did so on Monday and it really made it a nicer place to be. All in all, a lovely stay and a very nice hotel. You won't be disappointed.

can we book a ring of kerry tour at the hotel
Answer from Gearoid Murphy
Killarney, Ireland71 contributions90 helpful votes
Yes you can! The receptionists will look after any trips you want! There's loads of options but if it's just the ring of Kerry it's 25 euro total and you leave a 7 euro deposit at the desk and the rest to the driver! Can book the night before and they pick you up from the hotel at 10 in the morning just after breakfast!
