Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Nothing short of Excellent.
Rooms are as good as you will get in a 5star hotel and your host has an excellent attention to detail and a wonderful welcoming personality.
Parking outside, only a few mins drive or taxi to the centre of killarney
Can not recommend enough

Nice clean and comfortable room. Hostess and host were attentive and helpful. Our rental car had a mechanical failure and the hosts were very helpful to us as we sorted that out. One note - although this is a B&B, they do not actually serve a breakfast, but do have a large kitchen that's available with tea and coffee.

Very large and warm room, great kitchen facility for self catered breakfast. Hazel was a warm and welcoming host. Parking right outside our room, walk to pub across the road and down a little. Very quiet area and we had a great nights sleep. Not in Killarney and there is a lot of competition in the area, however we would certainly stay again and probably for at least 2 nights in the future.

I can't recommend this B&B or Hazel enough. The house is beautiful, the rooms are clean, spacious and beautifully decorated. Hazel is so helpful and friendly. It's less than 5 min in a taxi to town which makes it an ideal location. Highly recommend this property!!

Wonderfully friendly and helpful hosts; nothing was too much trouble.
It was great to be able to help ourselves to tea/coffee whenever we wanted in the guests' kitchen and we also liked the help-yourself breakfast as we are not big eaters in the morning and usually end up paying full price for less food. Also, being a coeliac I have to be very careful with my food and Hazel certainly came up trumps.
Both her and her husband were a mine of information on the area which added to our enjoyment of the short stay we had there (2 nights).
Would definitely go back.
Well done them!
Jenni and Derek.

Booked the Apartment and one bedroom for 2 nights beginning of June and actually liked it so much that we extended by one night. Area is really quiet. The apartment with its own fully equipped kitchen served us very well, living room/bedroom was huge and perfect bathroom. The owners even allowed us to use their BBQ which was brilliant as there is outside seating behind the B&B. It was the best nights sleep in Ireland in any Hotel or B&B we stayed in. The couple owning the B&B were super friendly and even gave us chocolates after we extended by one night. Nice touch - they know about hospitality.

We stayed one night in Hazelbrook.
Hazel was very friendly and had some good tips for us.
The rooms and the bathrooms are very tidy and the beds are very cosy.
The prize was ok, Breakfast means self service.
So we can recommend this B&B.

We've been to Ireland (and Killarney) and have stayed in nice hotels and friendly B&B's. This time we decided to stay a little out of town and chose Hazel brook, but shouldn't have ignored some other reviews. We were greeted when we arrived, but that was pretty much it. Didn't see anyone again not even goodbye or to pay the next day (just left money) which was strange and uncomfortable. Its not like we left early the next day at all (and cars were there) so it was really odd. For a place to sleep was clean with nice decor, but really strange feeling the whole time for being in someone's home. Not at all what we hoped for.

Response from Hazelbrookkillarney, Owner at Hazelbrook Killarney
Responded 25 Aug 2015
Hi Thank you for your review .You are correct when you outline that Hazelbrook is not a bed and breakfast in the traditional sense . My property description outlines this . I offer guest accommodation and I also provide a kitchen that all guests can use free of charge . I decided to develop this system after surveying a large number of guests and it has proven to be a great way forward . It allows guest flexibility and freedom to enjoy Hazelbroook and the surrounding area in a very relax fashion . I am delighted that you found the rooms clean and modern . I upgrade all the rooms during 2015 . There is not a 24 hour reception but I am here to answer any questions you may have about Killarney ,Dingle or the Ring of Kerry as the property is on the gateway to all these great routes . I hope you return sometime in the future and explore this great place - Killarney . Hazel

My husband and I stayed here on the May bank holiday weekend. We had such a wonderful time! The place was warm and immaculately clean throughout, our bedroom was bright and fresh and decorated in such a modern way that I came home with inspiration to redecorate our own place! :)
When we arrived on the Friday night we were greeted by the owner, Hazel, who was so friendly, we just felt right at home!
We're already looking forward to our next visit!

We stayed 2 nights and really enjoyed our stay. Hazel was very nice and helpful. Everything was very clean and decorated nicely. It felt very homey. There was a nice little pub and restaurant just down the street. Was nice have coffee tea muffins and cereal in the kitchen. Would definitely recommend this place.
