Okay, this is going to be a long review, because there is much to tell. So kick back and join me on this journey to excellence. This boutique hotel (29 rooms) is one exceptional gem after another. From the greeting on first arriving, to the rooms, to the service, to the food, it was one of the most memorable stays we have ever had. Let me go into the details. LOCATION -- The hotel is located in the center of the action in Killarney. Within walking distance are lots of shops and numerous excellent restaurants. THE ROOM -- Our room was spacious and well-appointed, and the bed was top-notch. Many places to plug in your electronics and charge your devices. (USB-A, though, so bring those kinds of cords.) There was a coffee maker and a hot-pot for tea. Lots of room to spread out. THE FOOD -- The breakfast is included, and what a breakfast! A number of wonderful choices, each more scrumptious than the last. Included was a stacked tray of goodies. (See picture below.) Truly a breakfast in keeping with an upscale boutique hotel. THE AFTERNOON TEA -- We signed up for the 4:00 PM high tea, and were completely delighted and enchanted with the experience. Another stacked tray of sandwiches, petit fours, and pastries, which the chef said we wouldn’t be able to finish. (He was right!) THE SERVICE -- This is the pièce de résistance of this review. The service in this hotel is absolutely on point. Every person we interacted with was pleasant, professional, competent, and ready to help. The staff at the Royal Killarney were fantastic. Each and every employee, from the door man (bell man) to the manager to the bar tender, really tried to make my family stay great. The rooms were very nice, a bit antique, but the bathrooms were modern and well appointed. The food was very good and even the entertainment was what I wanted to hear being in Ireland. I will come back and stay in the future.

So much to see and do in Killarney. The carriage rides, the Muckross House Tour and the city itself was a delight. The hotel hotel was also very nice. The best part of the hotel was the staff especially John! Just a delightful man indeed. Ever cheerful and seem to be there at the moment when you needed a helping hand. We really appreciated all his efforts on our behalf.

We had the most amazing service here, they went above and beyond for us, we had mentioned our anniversary and they put a dessert plate with happy anniversary written in chocolate in our room, they also suggested many places to go around the area! We would highly recommend this hotel!

This is a quaint and boutique style hotel. We stayed in one of the suites and it was perfect. The breakfast was freshly cooked to order and the evening meals excellent. The rooms and decor are rather dated but that only adds to the ambiance of the place. The greatest asset this hotel has is the friendly and efficient staff who were so obliging and attentive.

This hotel is so beautiful, charming and convenient. The staff is very friendly and the reception/concierge is so very helpful in booking excursions. They are very knowledgeable and help craft a tour to you. We wanted more active adventures and it fit the bill perfectly. The accommodations are spacious and comfortable.

Great atmosphere and excellent service in this lovely old hotel. The restaurant food and service also outstanding which includes the breakfast . Rooms in the front can be subject to street noise but we knew this in advance and we still prefer street view rooms.

I went with a child to have the afternoon tea. I was told to book in advance to avoid disappointments and I thought that would be because of others guests. But we were in fact the only ones having the afternoon tea. I also indicated that it would be me and a child but we got the menu for two adults. Luckily, I could pay for an adult and a child considering that the child hardly ate anything. The food was ok. The lobby was ok. Reception kept our luggage while we were eating. But I wouldn't recommend it.
