Nestled in the heart of the town, Killarney Towers Hotel & Leisure Centre is lauded for its exceptional service, especially the commendable breakfast staff. The central location is a hit with guests, offering easy access to local attractions and Killarney National Park, though some note noise disturbances. While the vibrant bar and music scene adds to the atmosphere, the decor receives mixed reviews for being somewhat dated.
Rooms are generally celebrated for their cleanliness, yet opinions on size and noise vary. The leisure center and the value of the amenities, including the breakfast, are often highlights for visitors.

We really enjoyed being so centrally situated in Killarney and would definitely stay again..the bed was super comfy and the pillows were best I have had..magic sleep. The breakfast was excellent value and staff were eager to please. The bath was great as being of limited mobility I found the design easier to get out of. There is a busy car park across the road but we always drove around until we found a space. I did find the pool a little cool for my liking but soon warmed up in the steam room. We ate dinner in the adjoining pub. So good experience all round

This hotel was very central to all the lively music bars and restaurants. It also had their own bars either side of the hotel and the prices were very competitive with the local bars. We loved O’donaghues and the food was also very good. There was a car park opposite the main hotel entrance which charged €1 per hour 0830-1800 and it was free on a Sunday. As we were out in the car during the day we felt the charges were reasonable. Breakfast was really good and the rooms were comfortable. Only minor issue was the drinking water was not replenished in our rooms daily.

We stayed 2 nights b&b Hotel in ideal location right in the center of Killarney bar has music every night bar food was fab and bar staff too.
Check in was fast and no issues My husband up graded our room the room was fab with a jacuzzi hand made products tea and coffee machine
We had a fab view (I joke )of a corrugated slanted roof from our window the window whistles in the wind and the noise of the rain off the roof could be quiet annoying but it didn’t effect our stay we stayed. Kinda what you can expect from a city hotel
Over all we had a fabulous stay

We stayed in the Killarney Towers for two nights in September 2024.
The hotel is in a perfect location. It is right in the middle of town and you do not need to get into your car to go anywhere once you check in.
The staff are really excellent. From the moment we arrived they were exceptionally helpful and always had a greeting and a smile.
Breakfast was very good and the breakfast room was very spacious so never any issues getting a seat.
Unfortunately for us, noise was a really big problem. We stayed in room 162. To be fair to the Killarney Towers they called us in advance of our visit to forewarn us that we would be staying overhead the bar and it could get noisy.
On the Friday night there was no music in the bar. On the Saturday night the music went on until 2am.....this we could deal with. However the problem came from upstairs - the sound proofing between rooms, in our area of the hotel, is really bad. On our first night the upstairs noise started at approx 5am. It sounded like there was somebody rearranging furniture from 5am until 8am. It was so bad that I jumped up a couple of times absolutely certain that there was somebody in the room with us.
On our second night (Saturday) , once the music from the pub stopped at 2am, we could clearly hear conversations from guests in the rooms above us. We could hear almost every word. It went on for ages.
We are a couple with three small kids. The purpose of our visit was to have two quiet nights away and get some sleep. We departed the Killarney Towers almost delirious with sleep deprivation. We flagged the noise levels with the on duty manager, as we checked out. She was very sympathetic to our experience and we were assured that they would look into it and revert to us within a day or two. We await the response.
Killarney Towers is a nice hotel in a great location with fantastic staff, but the noise issues ensure that we are unlikely to return.

Lovely Hotel friendly staff .Easy check in . Nice & comfy rooms . Situated on main street, easy access to all areas .Stayed over on Valentine’s Day .Booked 1 night dinner b& b . Leisure centre staff very helpful & friendly. Only issue was at dinner , which was a big let down especially it being Valentines night. Booked for 7 pm . Basic menu which I except as was on package . No offer to up sell to valentines menu which most people seemed to be having. I ordered steak which was an extra €9 supplement . No issues with this either. Ordered wine . I had red as was having steak I thought.Few mins later I was asked again by server was I having the steak medium rare which was correct. Then 5 mins later I was informed they had ran out of steak . At this time there was probably 16 people in the restaurant eating.Around us they were table of 4 eating chicken and fish and table next to us weren’t having steak either , so I couldn’t understand how they could run out of steak at 7 pm on a Friday night. We were offered a free glass of wine each complementary . My wife got hers , I didn’t receive mine. Food in general was poor . Mussels were overcooked and the sauce was thick and off putting, came with soggy white toasted bread . I ended up having salmon which was only ok. Breakfast next morning was much better and wide selection of hot and cold food. I would stay here again but definitely wouldn’t be having dinner . Really need to up your game in the evenings.

Dear famiilyguy, Thank you for taking the time to share your detailed feedback. We’re so pleased to hear that you enjoyed the easy check-in, the comfy rooms, and the friendly staff during your stay. It’s also great to know that you found the location convenient and enjoyed your breakfast the following morning. We sincerely apologise for the disappointment you experienced at dinner on Valentine’s night. We can certainly understand your frustration with the steak issue and the overall dining experience, especially on such an important night. Please know that this is not the standard we aim to provide, and we will address the concerns you’ve raised with our restaurant team to ensure improvements are made. We also appreciate you letting us know about the wine service mix-up, and we will review the communication between our staff to ensure these types of issues don’t happen again in the future. We were on a 2 week Globus tour and stayed in many hotels throughout Ireland. This was the absolute worst room we had. NO ONE on a tour should be placed in these “closet” rooms. We all paid the same price and should be afforded a comfortable stay. The bathroom was the smallest that I have ever experienced in a hotel—I could brush my teeth and soak my feet while sitting on the toilet! A complete fail on both the hotel and Globus. Extremely disappointed!!

We had booked a three night stay at this hotel in early September for our family of five adults. One of the guests, my son, has intellectual disabilities/autism and had an unfortunate incident during the first night which needed the services of the housekeeping team. We immediately informed two members of the housekeeping team of the situation with my son, and offered to pay for extra cleaning required. We left the hotel and returned a few hours later and were spoken to by the duty manager, Stuart Courtney, who informed us that due to the state of the room, our holiday was cancelled, and we had to leave the hotel immediately. Stuart Courtney dealt with this in a way that showed total disregard for the feelings of others, lacked discretion, dignity, and compassion, in the public foyer of the hotel in front of other guests and staff. The next day, I emailed a complaint to the General Manager Brian Lawlor, who contacted me , five days later, after he had received a call from a researcher on the Joe Duffy radio show. During a telephone call with Brian Lawlor, he apologised profusely about he way we were treated, assured me that Mr Courtney had been severely disciplined, and offered a full refund, with a letter of apology to my son. If Mr Lawlor is unsure of this, I possess a recording of the call. Some days later I received an email from Mr Lawlor, offering a cheque for the cost of the holiday, denying that the hotel were aware of my sons issues, and stating the staff deal with these issues in a highly professional manner. I responded with another email, and have left numerous messages asking Mr Lawlor to contact me, with no response. We did receive a cheque in the post, for the amount of the holiday, in a plain hand written envelope, with no compliment slip or any reference to the hotel. Mr Lawlor has referenced in his correspondence that the welfare of my son is important to him and his hotel, so why has my son not received a letter from him as promised? This whole incident has had a detrimental effect on my son, who now feels he will not be allowed to go on holiday again, as if he has not enough issues with his mental health. A letter would have helped him put closure on this. From the start of this incident it has been with very unprofessionally by the hotel, and there is no point of Stuart Courtney commenting on this review asking me to contact him, I have left messages for Brian Lawlor to contact me, with no reply. I would not recommend this hotel, or any of the O’Donoghue group hotels if this is the way they deal with the general public and adults with disabilities.

Stayed 16th and 17th August for 50th Birthday and 20th Anniversary celebration. Booked 10 rooms as 15 of us and service was first class, with Sparkling wine, cakes and 50 balloon in room on arrival. Had dinner and drinks in O'Donoghues, which was very good, and the music was fantastic with Gearoid McCarthy playing a set. Also went in Pig Lane and the cocktails were great as well. Breakfast and all the pool facilities were excellent. We enjoyed our stay so much the girls are returning next year for Louise's Hen weekend. Can't wait.

The Killarney Towers Hotel was amazing! I'm only sorry that we never had a chance to use the pool or spa. The hotel is centrally located, with plenty of restaurants and shops within walking distance. We enjoyed a wonderful horse carriage ride through the amazing Killarney National Park, shopped on the pedestrian Plunkett Street, enjoyed the fantastic cocoa, donuts at Celtic Donuts. The staff were exceedingly helpful and friendly, and the rooms nicely appointed and air conditioned. A note (not a complaint, but worth pointing out) - the room comes with a deep soaking tub as opposed to a walk-in shower. This was slightly problematic for me due to a recent injury (not their fault - I didn't tell them!) If you are older or have problems stepping into deep tubs, just let them know ahead of time :)
