A wonderful place to stay, clean, comfortable. Hosts were so nice and gave some great ideas for food, and what to see in the area. The breakfast was so good with many choices. Room was very spacious, clean and a comfortable bed. Great Choice!
Gleann Fia is a peaceful, magical property tucked away in the trees yet close to downtown Killarney. Bluebells in the Fairy Glen next to the river, watching deer as we dined on Brigit’s delicious homemade brown bread and marmalade, honey from Conor’s apiary and his eggs made to order are some of the reasons why I will return! The Victorian County Home is filled with beautiful antiques, fresh flowers and original art. Our four rooms were sanitized, immaculate, and fresh. They were elegant and smart with modern bathrooms. Crisp pressed linens on comfortable beds and air dried towels - no detail overlooked! Bridget and Conor were professional and warm, willing to please and made us feel comfortable. Conor gave us valuable advice in regards to our itinerary. We loved our stay and feel like we made forever friends - a favorite Ireland memory! Thank you, and we will be back! Melanie Boyer…
Very Nice and guiet Guest House. Conor and Bridget O'Connell are very kind people and the Breakfast with homemade jam, honey, yuoghurt, müsli and, and, and..😋 😎. Conor very helpful by telling about rutes to drive and places to visit. Only a short walk (for me 25 minutes) to town center😁
We spent five magical days here in May 2022. It's a traditional B&B in the best sense of the word. The room we had (5) was ultra spacious, beautifully decorated, and extremely convenient. All amenities were of the best quality, and cleanliness was meticulous. The location worked perfectly for us: it's a 25-minute walk from the center of the town, and indeed on the way back, at nighttime, it's best to use a taxi (8 euro). But if you have a car, as we did, it's perfectly located. The surrounding land, with the beautiful stream, is simply magnificent. Relaxation at its best. We also appreciated the lounge, with the honor bar. And breakfasts were superb, even for someone like myself who avoids all the elements of "full Irish"... All in all, a charming place, excellent value for money, a place we'll try very hard to come back to. Very highly recommended.…
Amazing setting, lovely facilities, great service. Rooms are spacious, the honour bar is great although the tins of beer and Guinness are overly priced. Highly recommend to anyone looking to book in Killarney
When we arrived at Gleann Fia ,tired and weary after a long car journey, Conor showed us around and suggested we have a cup of tea and biscuits in the lovely bright Conservatory to the side of the house as soon as we had settled in. This is available to guests at all times along with an Honesty Bar, and is a very comfortable place to spend some time. The Lounge alongside also was available to relax in, with a selection of books to browse. Our bed was comfortable and breakfast outstanding with local and homemade produce, and, the star of the show, Bridget's brown bread, which she was kind enough to give us the recipe of. Gleann Fia is near enough to, yet far enough from Killarney to be an ideal place to stay.
I went down to Killarney to do some hiking in the nearby MacGillicuddy Reeks, and stayed 4 nights at Gleann Fir. What an excellent choice! Conor and Bridget were very welcoming, and in this day of the COVID virus, they had sanitiser everywhere, and the rooms were sanitised daily. At breakfast, they had a big buffet, but following the rules, I requested what I wanted and they brought it to me. Conor had a weather app on his computer and each day was able to tell me what to expect on my hikes. When I came back wet and muddy, Bridget took my boots and gear to a drying room to get them good and dry, she even stuffed my boots with newspaper. The room was lovely; it was so quiet, out in the country, and yet not more than a few minutes to drive into the heart of Killarney. The breakfast was almost entirely from local produce, including their own honey! They had a lovely conservatory to relax in, with every conceivable beverage. I could not ask for a better place to stay in Killarney.…
We stayed at Gleann Fia house for six days recently. Gleann Fia is an excellent venue for a holiday. The proprietors, Conor and Bridget treated us grandly and made us feel totally welcome. Their understanding of the local area is excellent and were able to give us very useful information on places to visit. Breakfast was excellent with a variety of locally produced honey, yogurt, jams to complement the range of cereals and cooked food. On account of the Covid 19 restrictions, staff brought breakfast to us at our own table. Accommodation was spacious with regular supplies of clean towels etc. Cleanliness was of the highest level . Rooms were spacious with ample provision of storage space. Furnishings and decor were in the classical tradition in keeping with the rest of the house. On account of the Covid 19 restrictions, certain additional features were in evidence. Sanitising facilities were at every few steps, along with supplies of paper towels etc. During our stay at Gleann Fia, we never felt at even the slightest risk from the virus. From our arrival till our departure, our say at Gleann Fia was a delightful experience, complementing the natural beauty of County Kerry. Set in its own gardens and woods with a river running through them, Gleann Fia exudes the natural goodness of the environment. This is a feature which Conor and Bridget develop in their service to visitors. Being only about a twenty minute walk from Killarney town, Gleann Fia is near enough to the town to be easily accessible but at the same time is far enough away to be free from the noise and bustle of a lively town. All being well, we hope to stay at Gleann Fia in the future. To anyone wishing to have a warm, comfortable and tranquil stay, I would strongly recommend Gleann Fia..…

By far the best guest house we have stayed in. Beautiful large comfortable room decorated in a stylist mixture of old and new. Lovely lounge and well stocked honour bar, where you help yourself and feels welcoming and comfortable. Breakfast was beautiful, cooked to order with all locally sourced and home made produce. The service is exceptional and the atmosphere is one is relaxed comfort making it very easy to spend time whether in the lounge or rooms chilling out. €7/8 in a taxi into Killarney where there is an unlimited choice of bars and restaurants. Wonderful walks and sightseeing locally. Conor and Bridget are exceptional hosts with an eye for the detail. Would struggle to stay anywhere else when next back in this part of the world.
