Stayed in this hotel for 5 nights during our trip to Killarney and enjoyed every minute of it. The hotel was spotless with all Covid precautions in place. The view from our hotel room was overlooking the lake and the the National Park to the front of the hotel was beautiful. The food was lovely especially the breakfast which was varied and plentiful and the staff were very friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend this hotel and visit again. The only thing is I would take my own hairdryer the next time ,the hotel one was really bad.
We stayed in the self catering accommodation. There was some things we loved about the hotel, the accommodation was lovely and quiet, the staff was both helpful and friendly. The grounds were pleasant, the hotel is close to the town The things we did not like about the hotel, there was a smell of mold/damp in one of the bedrooms it was so bad we had to sleep with windows open to creat a draft. On our first morning in the hotel we had breakfast, it was terrible, we cancelled dinner in the hotel after having the breakfast, just in case it was representative of the standard of food provided by the hotel. On our second morning we chose not to eat breakfast in the hotel also.
Lovely hotel just on the outskirts of Killarney. It has excellent facilities;pool, gym, 9 hole golf course, tennis, playground, bike hire. We eat in both the bar and restaurant and the food was excellent. Beautiful views over the lake and mountains. Staff are very friendly. Bedrooms are basic but very clean. Ample free parking. There is a lovely walking trail all the way to Killarney town. Would highly recommend this hotel.
We stayed in the Castlerosse Hotel foe 4 days in early Sept 2020 and in these troubled Covis times everything was so well planned that all the staff, who were most helpful, deserve a big thank you. I must comment on Dinner on Tues 8th........I started with the Black Pudding and Panchetta Bacon which was very very nice but the Poached Paupiettes of black Sole was the best fish course I have had in many a year. It was superb with it's surround if Prawns and the Prosecco sauce was a plate licking experience. Hope it is on the menu next time we are there...which will be soon I hope
This is not a 4 Star Hotel. Just back from a 2 night stay. Hotel is outdated and in need of an uplift. Room lacks some basics (glasses, iron, extra pillows blankets etc). Dressing rooms also badly in need of an uplift. Food is simply AWFUL. Ate in the bar and ordered a basic bacon cheeseburger with fries (charged extra €2.50 for 1 slice of cheap bacon and cheese). It was shockingly poor with cheap bread-bun and poor quality meat. My partner ordered chicken burger and she described it as a sub-standard Supermacs! Chips were like reheats you would get from your local Chinese. Breakfast was no better. Over-cooked eggs benedict with the worst liquid hollaindaise sauce I've ever tasted. Don't even get me started on the presentation! By reading several other reviews I'm not the only person to leave such negative reviews of the food. How are these chefs allowed get away with this at a so called 4 star hotel?! My partner also enquired about beauty treatment. She was informed that there is only 1 person offering all treatments across 3 hotels and that there was nothing available for the 2 days we were there! Pointless service! Staff as a whole were nice and friendly but certainly in need of training to be called 4 star service. Overall, a very disappointing experience. My recommendation would be to stay elsewhere. There are much better hotels in the Kilarney area at similar pricing. I certainly won't be going back and it is never in a million years a 4 star hotel. Only positive is the location. It is set in beautiful surroundings but this is insignificant to the hotel itself.…
