Stayed here for two nights during storm Helen the location is great 10 mins walk to Killarney. The hotel had a very relaxed atmosphere, nothing was a problem. The staff were great supporting Covit19 etc.nothing was a problem .

The hotel/ rooms maybe needs a mild freshen up, the bed was very comfortable.

We ate in the restaurant the 3 course meal. The menu was very good value, not Michelin, but very good quality and well presented

I would Recommend a stay here if you were in this area. Very good value

We returned to the Cahernane House Hotel after are previous wonderful visit in 2016 and it was even better. The property has been tastefully refurbished, and Coach House had been developed to give extra rooms. As soon as we entered the tree lined driveway up to the Hotel you feel the Hotel is a special place. We had booked to stay in the Cahernane House Hotel for 4 nights. From the point of our arrival to departure we enjoyed a very warm welcome from all the staff and felt home from home with attention to detail. The Hotel has buckets of character and is definitely a great place to chill out and relax. The accommodation was spotless, excellent, and spacious. We enjoyed a fantastic, varied breakfast menu for 4 mornings. The dining experience was a silver service extravaganza, with food presented as good as any Michelin star restaurant and very reasonably priced. If you decide to experience the dinner in the Hotel, I would recommend the quail starter and the fillet of beef main course. The basement bar has a good selection of whiskeys and gin to sample and the local Killarney craft beer on draft. An atmospheric place to have a nightcap, or even a pre-dine drink. When hopefully we return to Kerry, and hopefully not as long since our last visit the Cahernane House Hotel will be central to our travel plans again.

Needing a break after being restricted in Dublin for several months we decided to book three nights here. We booked a room in the main Manor House as opposed to the Coach House and were given a room at the top of the stairs, above the reception. It is a grand old house which has been kept with the original decor. There are also lots of fine art prints by famous Irish artists on the walls. The house sits at the end of a long drive from the main road into Killarney. It is close to the banks of the Lough Leane and only a short distance from Muckross House and Torc waterfall.

The first night we chose to eat in the Cellar Bar. The dinner menu is the same as that in the restaurant although the prices are slightly more if you choose to eat upstairs in the restaurant. The food was good and their was a good selection of wine available. Our only criticism was the service, which was slow. We think they were one waiter/bar person short. It was a bank holiday weekend and the hotel was full. We also ate in the restaurant for breakfast and dinner and the service was excellent. Due to Covid measures a time needs to be booked for breakfast and the popular times book up fast during busy periods.

Our room was very comfortable, with a nice table and chairs by the window, looking out over the drive and lawns, where we saw a herd of deer on the first night. The bathroom was spacious and the shower was excellent.

It's a lovely hotel and ideally located for exploring the Killarney National Park.

From the moment we walked through the front door, my family and I were treated like royalty! Every single person we encountered were extremely friendly, willing and gave their all to accommodate our every need. Eimer at the front desk gave us a tour of the property and provided valuable information about the surrounding area We stayed at two adjoining rooms in the Coach House, which were recently refurbished and finished to a high degree. The service at restaurant was top notch! I would like to make a special mention of Mr. David O'Brien who went out of his way to make our stay most memorable.. Overall the hotel has a very relaxing feeling and I would highly recommend this magnificent hotel, in this beautiful setting in County Kerry.
We will definitely be back!

Stayed here at the end of last summer 2020 and loved every second of it. Decided to go back again since we were so impressed. Booked directly online with them so we got free champagne on arrival. I rang during the week a few days before arriving to request a room that had access to a bathtub and Emer the general manager was very friendly, took my request on board and made sure we got our room with a bathtub. The room itself was stunning all round and had a super comfortable bed and as requested a large bathroom with a claw foot bathtub and huge shower. The gardens and landscape are very well kept with amazing views in all directions. We dinned in both the cellar bar and the Herbert restaurant, the food was amazing in both as there are different options i would recommended trying both. Todd and Darragh kept the drinks flowing in the bar. Breakfast in the morning was perfect and we were well looked after by team. I really cant say enough about Cahernane House and i don't see myself booking anywhere else when I'm staying in Killarney.

We ended up staying here over the weekend because more popular hotels like Ballyseede Castle and Adare Manor were fully booked. We booked a superior room in the manor house due to all the beautiful photos the hotel posted online. The hotel also noted the rooms had recently been redone. Overall, I regret staying here and would definitely recommend looking elsewhere for the price.

Location: The hotel is located right outside the town center. This was good as the actual town was really packed all the time. It was also very close to all the Killarney attractions making it a good place to go the national park or the ring of Kerry drive.

Room: The rooms do look like the images posted online by the hotel but the devil is in the details. They did a good job with some aspects like the beautiful chandelier, drapery, bathroom, and wallpaper. The hotel didn't really redo some of the more core aspects like the windows, floors, wood pieces on wall/ceiling, furniture, etc... This made it so when you looked closely, you could see a lot of the wear. There was also a weird smell in the entire manor house that wasn't present in the other areas (e.g., garden wing). There were tons of switches in the room but they didn't have any labels and what they turned on/off wasn't clear or intuitive.

Cleanliness: The room was not that clean. The windows let in a lot of bugs which died and were scattered around the room and bathroom. The bathroom was also not cleaned well. We could see hair and grime from previous usage on the tub.

Service: The staff were friendly and seemed to be available. We didn't really interact with them much.

Others: Breakfast was okay but nothing special. One of the waitresses wasn't wearing an actual mask, just a face shield. The internet was extremely slow and didn't work at all most of the time we were there.

Price/Value: We ended up paying almost $700 for 2 nights. Comparing that to what we are paying for other hotels (Ballyseede, Mount Juliet), this place is definitely not worth it.

Room Tip: Avoid rooms in the manor house. They are not well sealed and are already degrading.

A warm comfortable period house full of character and pleasant helpful staff .We stayed a full week here as our base and were more than happy with this house hotel.
The bedroom and bathroom were both sizeable with a rainforest shower in the bathroom ,lovely. We had a freshly cooked breakfast each morning , good choice range, a bar meal and evening drinks all on site all served by friendly local staff.
Desmond.

Hi, our stay was lovely. Emer & the other man on the front desk were fantastic, friendly & cheery which is what’s needed at every house / hotel. I’d give them 5 stars for this along with its cleanliness. Spotless rooms & linens too.

Our one and only complaint, the breakfast & food wasn’t anything of a 4 star rating. Hugely over priced (€200+ more expensive than beautiful restaurants in Killarney town) but waiter guy with long hair was very pleasant & helpful. Breakfast seemed as if to be all deep fried which made us want to eat out even though our breakfast had been paid for with the room.

Overall view, if staying - don’t eat there unless they change their prices.

I am not a fan of hotels as they tend to be impersonal and a little “cold”. None of the above applied to Cahernane which felt like home from the moment we passed the front door. Everyone we met tried to their best to help us and make us feel comfortable.
We were really blown away by the room just above the hall door. Beautiful big windows all decorated in a style sympathetic with the period of the building. Often when a hotel tries to do antiques they get it quite wrong-to my eyes I stress. But again, here at Cahernane someone was in charge of sourcing some really beautiful tasteful and compassionate pieces which add to a very authentic and homely atmosphere. It was almost as if they had been left there by the original owners, the Herberts.
The other thing which must be mentioned was the standard of cleanliness,in the room in particular and the hotel in general. I wished my own house was as clean and well presented as this! Beautiful shower gels, shampoos and soaps simply topped off the experience. Did I forget the beds? You’ll want to buy one. Amazing comfort and luxury from which to enjoy the lovely picture windows and views over the garden beyond.
We had arrived with no booking for dinner but were accommodated in the same style we had already enjoyed in our room upstairs. We started with nibbles and a drink out in the garden and progressed to a window seat in the restaurant. Here we were treated to a most delicious memorable meal by a variety of servers each one as friendly and homely as the other.
We really loved our stay. It was only a weekend but it felt like a week with every moment enjoyed to the hilt!
A big sincere thank you to Manager Emer Corridan and all her team. There’s something lovely about this place.

My daughter and I stayed here in August for 4 nights.
The whole stay was excellent from start to finish.
The building itself is absolutely beautiful and so well presented. The reception area is in the main building, staff were extremely helpful, friendly and efficient and nothing was too much trouble. The gardens are magnificent too, complete with a tree swing overlooking the countryside.
Our room was in the Garden wing at ground level which meant we had a beautiful little patio area outside our room, luckily the weather was beautiful so I spent most nights sitting out there sipping my vino and listening to the sounds of nature. There were deer in the field beside the hotel and it was just wonderful to be able to observe them, (they usually made an appearance around 8pm) . Back to our room, it was pure luxury…. starting with the beds which were THE SOFTEST I have ever experienced in a hotel, you literally sank into them, decor was classy with stunning feature wallpaper above the bed. The bathroom was so elegant and stocked with Elemis products, a real treat. A Nespresso coffee machine completed the room. I think a small fridge would have complimented the room even further.
Breakfast was in the main house in a beautifully decorated room overlooking the garden through huge original windows. The menu was extensive, the full Irish , pancakes and the salmon didn’t disappoint. Again staff were very friendly, attentive and efficient.
Bikes are available free of charge. We availed of them every day and cycled out the muckross rd taking in Muckross House and Torc waterfall.
The addition of a basket on the bikes would have been handy for a water bottle, coat etc.
This is a simply beautiful place to stay, location is fantastic and the surroundings are just stunning.
Highly recommend.

Good comparing to others with much lower quality. We stayed at a larger hotel literally down the road on a lake. Setting for dinner was fine but the room was little better than a gulag’s.

Hi twosassyk, we are 2kms from the train station so if you have luggage, the easiest way to get to us is by taxi (approx €8). The train station is also in the town centre so the journey time to walk in is about 20 minutes. A lot of our guests walk into the centre and take a taxi home. We also have complimentary bicycles which you are more than welcome to use when you are here. Its less than 10 minutes cycle to town. If you have any more queries, please let me know. Kind regards Emer Corridan General Manager
