Very friendly and inviting staff. Excellent food in quality and quantity. Very relaxed and comfortable atmosphere in hotel. Stunning views of Lake and mountains. Great to sit by log fire and relax and chat to other guests.
This is a gem of a hotel with the most amazing staff. Comfortable would be an understatement to describe this hotel. Food is absolutely fantastic in both the bar and the restaurant. Would highly recommend a stay here. Thank you to everyone at the Lake Hotel for making our stay most enjoyable.
We have been to The Lake hotel a few times, excellent experience every time , very helpful staff in reception, dining, bar and service staff. We will be back there soon. This visit, we stayed in a different side of the hotel, with balcony, still excellent.
Absolutely beautiful hotel and experience. The staff are fantastic, so welcoming and friendly. Our server at dinner was a gem , unfortunately didn't get his name. Food was like nothing we had before. My husband is a chef and he was blown away by the presentation and flavours!! The views and peacefulness is amazing. 100% will be back
This is by far the nicest hotel I have ever stayed in. The room spotlessly clean the bed was very comfortable. The view from the balcony onto the hillside and ruins combined with the lake were brilliant and definitely worth taking a few pics of
Have yet to stay over in this hotel, but went there for dinner two nights in a row when in Killarney with husband and children. The food was absolutely spectacular, the flavours In everything were just amazing. I would highly recommend a visit here if you are in Killarney. Superb! Staff were lovely too, so helpful and friendly!
We went here for our wedding anniversary .it was one of the best weekends to date .Hotel staff were so friendly and attentive ,rooms were beautiful overlooking the lake and ruins of the McCarthy castle .live music in the lounge and overall a very rewarding stay .
All amazing, a true retreat, Great location, ambience, rooms..pretty much everything you expect you have it here at this hotel: the view, the comfort, great staff, great surroundings. I could say it was perfect!
We really enjoyed this hotel as an extended family. The staff were so helpful and friendly. The history was lovely read, lovely walks around the hotel. The breakfast and bar food were lovely. Thanks for great memories.
Myself and my husband often visit Killarney although this was our first time staying in this hotel. It did not disappoint.. The hotel is well located although as the weather wasn't great we decided to use taxis in and out of town. However in nicer weather it would be a pleasant walk back into the town. There is plenty of on site parking and the hotel is situated on the shores of Lake Lein. The greeting at reception was friendly and efficient and we were staying in room 425, a Deluxe room with Lake view. The walk to the room is a little complex as you take the elevator to floor 2 and then walk the length of the building to another elevator which takes you to the fourth floor. This may be a slight problem for anyone with mobility issues however I was happy to clock up the steps with my fitbit. The room was large, bright and well appointed with breathtaking views of the lake and surrounding mountains. There was plenty of wardrobe space, comfortable armchairs and footrests in front of a TV and a corner bath in the room which overlooked the lake. The bed was extremely comfortable and the room had all the little touches you would expect. My husband was delighted with the shower pressure and the room was the perfect temperature. There was a Dyson fan if required. Although we were dinning elsewhere that evening we did have a couple of drinks later that night and again the staff were lovely. Jason in the Devils Punchbowl bar was lovely and ensured we got a taxi to get to our meal on time.I thought I had lost my glasses while at dinner and the receptionist went to the trouble of calling the taxi company and the restaurant to check. I subsequently found them in the door of my car so apologies to all who got caught up in the hunt. Breakfast was served until 10.30 with no need to book a time slot. It was excellent. The view from our table looked out on Castlelough Castle which is situated in the grounds by the lakeshore. The hotel displays many items detailing the Hubbard family history who have owned the hotel since the forties but also mentions the Hilliard family who were the previous owners. The hotel has plenty of little nooks and a library so even if the weather is miserable you can easily relax with a book or complimentary paper. We didn't have time to check out the fitness suite. We were able to avail of a slightly later check out which was appreciated and braved the blustery conditions to check out Castlelough Castle before we left. Just before we left we were gifted a limited print by Niall Huggard Photography of the " View from" the lake hotel and this was a lovely touch it shows the deer beside the lake and we had encountered them there last night. So it's a special memento. I would recommend this charming old world stylish hotel for anyone looking for excellent service in an amazing location.…
