Its immaculate cleanliness and well-maintained facilities consistently earn high marks. Professional and friendly staff contribute to an inviting atmosphere, replete with cozy sitting areas and live music.

Detailed Reviews
We have been at the Lake Hotel before so we were confident that we would feel safe during our stay. The hotel have a Lake Care Policy that outlines all the steps they have taken to ensure guest and staff safety. This was very reassuring to read prior to staying as I was a little bit anxious. Rooms are spotless as per usual, they have removed all unnecessary soft furnishings and magazines / literature. Staff will only clean your room during your stay if you request it. Staff are visibly sanitising common touch areas such as door handles, lift buttons etc.. Breakfast needs to be booked, so they can accommodate everyone safely. We used to be able to select from the buffet but that is all changed now, a waiter takes orders. Tables are cleaned between guests. We completed the guest information via email prior to arriving so all we had to do was pick up the keys. We had deluxe lake view rooms which are so worth it.. We were able to enjoy lunch on our balcony during the fabulous weather looking out at the mountains and lake. A truly relaxing experience. Thank you!

We stayed at this beautiful hotel for two nights, but I wish it had been a longer stay. Located in the Killarney National Park, right on Lough Leane, with direct access to all of the walking tracks to explore the natural beauty, this hotel makes the most of its location with sweeping views of the lake and snow capped mountains beyond. In the style of a country home, the decor is beautifully done, and our room was spacious, comfortable and very well appointed, with all the amenities you’d expect from a four star hotel. The bed was huge, and very comfortable, extra pillows were delivered on request. There was a very comfortable seating area, desk area and a balcony with wonderful views over the lake and mountains. The bathroom had all the amenities we needed (shower gel, body lotion, shower cap etc), with double sinks and separate bath and shower. Breakfast was served in the restaurant overlooking the splendour of the lake and mountains. Fantastic choice of food, both hot and cold, and also a selection cooked to order. We ate dinner both nights in the bistro, where there was a good menu to choose from. Our food was delicious, and all served with a friendly smile by the amazing staff, especially the very charming Josh! The most special thing about this hotel, apart from its location, is it’s wonderful staff. We enjoyed our stay very much, and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it.

The hotel itself is on stunning grounds and the staff are so welcoming and friendly. The room was big and spacious and had a stunning lake view, with a large bathroom and beautiful shower. We ate lunch in the bar and the food was very nice and service was quick. We didn't have any options past 8.30am for breakfast times to dine, even though we arrived at check in time, so were advised to get breakfast via room service. I was disappointed to be charged for this as it was at the hotel recommendation and also considering social distancing guidelines it seems this charge could have been waived rather than a €20 charge to have breakfast in our room on 2 mornings. This is really the only negative of the whole experience. Covid measures are clearly sign posted and sanitiser is available throughout.

We stayed at the hotel on a 2 nights B&B plus one dinner package. The meal was well worth it and worth paying for in the package as is €50 for three courses normally so the package is good value compared to B&B prices for other hotels in the town. Highly recommend eating in the hotel for dinner.
The location is amazing and we had an opportunity to sit our on the terrace to enjoy a drink with the amazing views of the lake and mountains. The hotel is set in fabulous grounds and is located a short cycle/drive from the Killarney National Park.
We had a "Wood View" room and on reflection would have happily paid the small surcharge for the "Lake View". Room was fine but nothing special. Well appointed and maintained with Tea/Coffee making facility, Hair dryer and Iron. The walk in shower was great.
All staff we met were friendly and helpful and considering they were all operating under the Covid-19 protocols they were very good and professional.
Will certainly look to go back and definitely want to eat here again.

Stayed here for a staycation for my 30th birthday, hotel was absolutely fabulous. We got the room with the jacuzzi bathtub in the room overlooking the beautiful grounds and lake, would highly recommended, splashing out a little bit more of this amazing luxurious room. Everything was spotless. Views from the balcony are breathtaking and so peaceful and tranquil, you'd actually think you were away abroad. We were very fortunate to spot a lot of deer on the grounds from our balcony! We ate in the bistro both nights, food was lovely, there is outdoor seating also on the terrace.
Hotel staff were lovely and friendly, especially Catherine on the front desk, we dealt with her for checking in and out and she was so nice and helpful! Thank you for organising my flowers! :)
There is plenty of food to choose from for breakfast and all very tasty and filling, lovely views of the lake from the breakfast dining room also. The only thing that was messy was the way the breakfast was organised, due to the new covid procedures, you need to queue for the buffet which is served by 1 or 2 members of staff who are serving different stations one by one and then you need to order juice/toast off the waiters after you sit down etc I think table service for breakfast could be a better option, as a lot of the staff seemed to be confused with the current breakfast system and were forgetting drinks orders or forgetting the butter for the toast etc which was located back at the buffet, which you would need to queue again for, if you were to get some yourself. It was hard to catch the waiters as there were so busy going between all the tables, so sometimes you'd be left waiting for milk for tea or butter for toast etc I saw the 2nd day, they had slightly changed the way some things were done, I know it's all trial and error as all this is new but I think table service would probably be an option that would work quite well for breakfast.
All in all a wonderful stay, would highly recommended this hotel to anyone looking to get away from it all, you won't be disappointed and it is so near to all the lovely scenic places. There is a bike rental and spar shop about 5mins walk up the road from the hotel. We will definitely be back for another stay and next time we will stay for longer!

We opted to stay here for a two night stay in the midst of Covid . Though normally we stay in the heart of Killarney Town , we choose The Lake for some well needed rest and relaxation. Firstly as regards the current Covid restrictions , we found the hotel to have all regulations in place, with copious amounts of hand sanitizers throughout , social distancing measures were in place and strictly adhered to. From the moment we arrived , we felt comfortable and protected.
The hotel itself is situated on the lake with stunning views . We opted for a deluxe Lake view and were not disappointed. The room itself was extremely comfortable and spacious . It has all the amenities you would expect , the tea/ coffee making facilities were basic , it would have been wonderful to have a Nespresso machine in the room . The bed was extremely comfortable and the jacuzzi bath was a real treat , after a day of cycling around the National Park.
We ate both in The Bistro and Castlelough Restaurant . Both had glorious views of the lake, the food was divine and presented beautifully. We particularly enjoyed the Castlelough experience for a wonderful dinning experience.
Their are lots of seating areas sprinkled throughout the hotel and we loved the general ambience. The outdoor hot tub was divine to soak up the views.
At this point I want to commend all staff for their professionalism during what must be a huge learning curve , dealing and adapting to the new rules and regulations. We were welcomed warmly and treated in a courteous and friendly manner throughout our stay. I would have no hesitation in recommending The Lake Hotel.

We were celebrating our anniversary so booked a couple of nights in this hotel with a deluxe lake view room. It was also our first time in Killarney and first post-lockdown trip so we really wanted to treat ourselves! We were surprised to find out they upgraded us to the master deluxe lake view room which was absolutely fabulous, we felt so spoiled! There were rose petals and chocolates on the bed when we walked in which was such a special touch. The room is very spacious, has super comfy large bed, and has a balcony with *breathtaking* views, plus a jacuzzi! Absolute luxury. There's a seat on the jacuzzi facing the window so you can enjoy the beautiful view. I spent so much time looking out and loving how peaceful it all was. The lake, castle ruins, mountains, wildlife... it was just unreal. Gorgeous!!!!!!!!!!!! The hotel really is a special destination itself.
We also felt very safe at this hotel. There was hand sanitizer everywhere and all staff members wore masks. Service was great as everyone was very helpful and polite. It was a bit hot and you aren't supposed to keep the windows/balcony door open at night because of the proximity to the lake and associated flying insects, but to counter this the room had one of those fancy Dyson fans which are very quiet and kept us cool - very happy with that. Good sized mini-fridge provided in the room too. Breakfast and dinner were delicious and the room service was quick! The afternoon tea was scrumptious, would highly recommend that, the presentation was really lovely too.
This is without a doubt the best hotel we've ever stayed at and I can't wait to return!!!!

Stayed here for 3 nights and found everything very satisfactory. Location on edge of Killarney Town is excellent - away from the hustle and bustle, adjacent to the lakes and Killarney National Park/Muckross House and Gardens but yet very accessible to all attractions in the town also.
Bedroom was very comfortable and clean with great view over the lake.
Breakfast very good on all three mornings with a great range of continental style and cooked breakfast options. Lots of gluten free breakfast options available for me.
We ate in the restaurant on one evening and the meal was outstanding. One of the finest meals I have ever eaten. Service was exceptional and the quality of the food was amazing. I must mention the blue cheese ice cream!! Again there were lots of gluten free options and accommodations available.
Lots of Covid-19 precautions in evidence throughout the hotel with hand sanitiser provided as required.

We booked 2 rooms for 4 nights in February. My wife, daughter and I had one room, and my father had the room next door. The rooms were of a very high standard with a few extra touches that make it that little bit more special. The view from the rooms was spectacular and the added value of a balcony was well received, although we didn't get to use it much due to the weather, but that's not exactly the hotels fault.
Check in was fine, the staff were very polite and professional and dealt with my check in very quickly. In general the staff were very pleasant, however on the first night I went to the bar for a drink, and with the exception of an English guy, whose name escapes me, the staff appeared somewhat aloof to the point of being rude. After a long day driving from England to Scotland, catch the boat to Belfast, then drive from Belfast down to Killarney, that is the last thing you expect. Due to this I didn't venture down to the bar that often.
Breakfast was good, with a decent choice and was very fresh. The breakfast staff were attentive and accomodating. My wife and daughter ate in the bistro, and stated is was nice and the service good also.
Killarney is a lovely place to base yourself if you want to explore Kerry, and the town centre has plenty to offer.
With a wide variety of hotels to choose from in the local area, I think perhaps next time we may look elsewhere to stay where our customer may be a tad more appreciated.

Dear Guest, Thank you for taking the time to write a review on your stay with us. We are delighted to hear you enjoyed your time with us and in Killarney. We are disappointed to hear that you found members of our team to be unpleasant. This is most unusual for us, and is very disappointing to hear. We always have and always will put our guests first, and we always insist on going the extra mile. Your comments and feedback will be discussed and addressed here with the relevant departmental Managers. We would pride ourselves on offering a warm, Irish welcome and helping all our guests have a lovely holiday with us but I can see this was not entirely your experience. We would love to have the opportunity to welcome you again. Kind Regards Guest Relations Manager

We stayed early February for 3 nights and as the hotel wasn't busy we were upgraded to a deluxe room which was a wonderful surprise after a 300 mile car journey.
Room was large with jacuzzi bath and setting area. Staff were excellent throughout our stay. Staff at breakfast were not only friendly but helpful with suggestions for sightseeing places.
Breakfast was buffet style with plenty of choice, view from our room and the breakfast room was stunning.
All in all an excellent place to stay and would think of no where else if ever in the area again.

The laundry needs to be given in before 9:00 am and you get it back at the end of the day by about 6:00.
