We have stayed here many times, almost every year. We been in a tent and a caravan. The site is well maintained and clean. Ideal for families. It seems to be the type of campsite that attracts a friendly bunch. We love it.
Lovely site surrounded by beautiful countryside and we even saw a few wild bunnies ! Clean facilities and very friendly site. We would highly recommend for family camping. Bring earplugs as near road for a good night's sleep.
We chose this camp site because it's the cheapest around and stayed for 4 nights. It's clean and well located, near Killarney and shops (SuperValu). The shower are clean but strangerly the meter (€1 for 7 min) is located outside of the shower! This is rather awkward if you're too slow to shower... It lacks a few sinks in the kitchen and tablets in the men's toilet block. The main drawback is that it's located near a very busy and very noisy road. So if you're camping, take ear plugs or expect to be woken up very early in the morning, and several times during the night (I still wonder why most Irish and UK roads are made of such a coarse gravel wich makes them very noisy). This is not the place you'd want to stay to enjoy a quiet break but it looks like it's the best value for money around.…
A quiet, peaceful site with no children running about and no barking dogs. We only intended to stay 4 nights but stayed 10, because of this. Convenient to Killarney, ring of Kerry and Gap of Dunloe (which is stunning but best to view after 7PM when jaunting cars have finished). Jerry, the owner is just lovely and has a wealth of knowledge about County Kerry. Nothing was ever too much bother for him. Facilities are basic but were quite adequate for us. Seamus, also lovely, keeps the toilet block clean and although the showers required €1 for 7 min by inserting the coin outside the shower (which was a bit strange) they did the job. The camping kitchen provides a place to do dishes and an area for campers to eat. There is a microwave, fridge, kettle, toaster and tv for use. Jerry keeps a tight ship but this was only so guests could have a pleasurable stay. Many of guests were of the more mature age and go back year after year. We would definitely recommend this site and would return without hesitation. Perfect for our needs.…
This camp site refused to take our reservation for a young family of 4 in a tent because they expected to be busy on the weekend we wanted to book (June bank holiday) and they wouldn't have room for our dog!?!? Our dog, by the way, is a small cavalier king charles cross breed. When we asked if they would take our booking if we came without our dog (thinking perhaps we could leave our dog with family), they never responded at all. Very poor service and incredibly unhelpful.
Visited while passing through Killarney. Very pleasant owner, site was spacious and clean...really enjoyed our time here. It is a distance for walk to town...we walked in and got taxi back.Hope to come back.
A small tidy campsite and caravan park on the edge of Killarney. Facilities basic, clean and reasonably maintained. Lots of water and electricity points. Designated pitches well spaced. Small play area. Lots of trees for shade and shelter. Showers 1 euro for 7 minutes; lots of hot water but weird that have to go outside to put in money so if want to add a second euro have to open door to outside world! Lots of hand written signs saying "don't do this" and "no that" - a bit unwelcoming. On main road so quite a lot of traffic noise. Free unrestricted wifi. Discount code on website and added in extra night at same discounted rate. OK for a short stay.
Stayed here for 4 nights as a base for Kerry, campsite is very clean and inexpensive with good natural wind breaks and good drainage. Exactly what you need in a campsite. The local pub/restaurant is aprox 1km down a busy road and the centre of Killarney is an hours walk away with 2 or 3 buses a day calling outside the main gates/nearby roundabout. All in all a great base to tour Kerry and at just 24Euros a night including electrical hook up you cant go wrong.
We visited this site in 2007, 2010 and 2011 and now again in 2014. Its a beautiful peaceful site run by a an exceptional Irish citizen, Jerry. Always very welcoming and helpful as ever in every way. The location just outside of Killarney is ideal for a base for touring the South West of Ireland. The toilets, washrooms showers and prep room have always been spotless. All pitches are hardstanding and level with well matured trees, bushes and shrubs everywhere, for tenters it is superb with great areas to camp. Jerry has always got time for anyone no matter what they want and is a walking encyclopaedia so can tell you pretty much all you want to know. Can't wait to return, first class. 5***** You will not be disappointed whatsoever its a great site.
