A stay of three nights. Very clean and comfortable. Best location for walking to everything in town. The breakfasts are terrific. Everything and anything you could ask for in a beautiful setting. The staff, Shelly and Marie, are cheerful and accommodating. Jim at the front desk is extremely helpful, friendly, cheerful and knows all about Killarney. Would definitely recommend and would stay here again.
A group of 11 of us stayed for a weekend. A great house to book for a family gathering or walking groups, with great walks around the area. It's very central. The house was spotless and our lovely host, Jim, couldn't do enough for us.
Room was very nice and clean. We had roof window. In room we had everything what is necessary. Room was enough big. Beds were comfortable and sleeping was good. Breakfast was in another hotelwhat is very close. Breakfast was good and big enough. Hotel is placed in good place. Everything is easy reachable by foot. Lady in reception was very very nice. She was so helpful and sweet. She helped us with advices. We appreciate her good attitude to us.
Decent stay for a reasonable price. The room was very small but worked for us. The room seemed clean. Found it odd that to lock/unlock the door from the inside, the key was needed. The check in process at The Fairview was a little strange as he asked us to “sit and he would be with us in 10 to 15 minutes” even though there wasn’t anyone else waiting.
The title B&B is a little misleading because this house is actually owned/operated by the Fairview Hotel located right down the road. When we arrived we rang the bell and were told via intercom that we had to walk down to the hotel to check in which was fine except that the guy at the front desk was a totally crabby jerk! We had our car parked in the front lot (room for two) and he told us no one was able to park there but by the end of the night two cars were there. The B&B itself was nice, we had the master bedroom which is large with a walk in closet, comfy bed, and very large bathroom with a tub. There is outside noise from the street but it was tolerable. Breakfast is at the Fairview in the morning, it was freshly made and included in our stay. The city center is just a short walk and we really enjoyed the city. We would stay there again.…
We were looking for a pet friendly place to stay for 3 nights(2 adults and 1 child with our little pet dog) in Killarney. Having stayed in The Fairview on a number of previous occasions, I was delighted to find that they operated a B&B just meters from the Hotel which accommodates pets. The apartment is beautiful, with comfy sofa and chair in the large living room, exposed beams and lots of antique ornaments around the apartment. There is a huge kitchen with a big old style fireplace and a patio to sit out in the sunshine. Jimmy was extremely kind and pleasant to deal with and Breakfast was delicious, which was served from the Hotel restaurant. The room was serviced each day, and they even washed the dishes for us! Located right in the centre of the town and only a stroll from the train station, this was definitely a great find and we can't wait to go back.…
You do not get breakfast unless you pay extra for it and walk a hundred yards down the road to eat it at the Fairview hotel. We were upgraded from the standard room to the master bedroom for one night out of our two night stay. The room was noisy as it faced the main road then we had to pack our bags to have them moved to the standard room we requested. The standard room small with a small bathroom. The biggest problem was that the room had no windows apart from an electricity controlled one in the roof which automatically shut if it rained. Yes the night was warm with rain and the window shut so we were in a very stuffy hot room. As there are many other accommodation options in the central city area I would advise checking them out.
I stayed here for 3 nights in July and can't speak highly enough of the place... Staff were warm and friendly on arrival... The room was spacious and spotlessly clean... The breakfast are the best with a wonderful choice and all cooked fresh... Everything is within a short walking distance of the torn... I'll be back!!
Had a great 2 night stay here while hiking in the County. Couple of tips, the room heating is controlled from the nearby Fairview Hotel and dosent come on until 1730. Room is very clean and well serviced. Location is excellent. Short walk to pubs and restaurants. There is free parking for 2 cars outside the premises. Early arrivals get the pick. The nearby car park is only 3 Euros for 24 hours. Breakfast is in the Fairview Hotel and is very good. All in well worth the money.
This is actually the downstairs apartment of what was once a townhouse. The townhouse has been divided into various rental spaces. Renters upstairs can be distracting, depending on how considerate they are, but seemed to often slam the doors shut. Downstairs, where we stayed, the floor plan has a living room, dining area in the full kitchen, and the bedroom between those two spaces. The bed is elevated and surrounded by a railing. Other strange décor choices include a mix of furnishings that look like a hodgepodge of stuff someone gathered from garage sales, etc. But, the strangest arrangement was the outdoor shower. There is a toilet and tiny sink inside the apartment, but, for showers, you have to go just outside the kitchen about 10 or 12 steps where a tiny shower was installed inside a room with the washer, hot water heater and other utilities. Weird. I suppose that had to be built in the courtyard area when the property owner divided up the upstairs for other rental spaces. And, if you want the breakfast part of the B&B, you walk down the road to the Fairview Hotel and partake there.…
