It's really a good hostel, only very view things were not so good. It's sad, that there is only one toilet/restroom for more than 12 (?) beds and the shower needs a little renovation. But the guy at the reception was really nice guy :) (PS: We think that some reviews are a little bit overdone :P ) cheers

Simple and basic amenities, just what you need to drop your head and in a great location. Nice hostel staff and adorable pub next door called The Shire. Wifi doesn't reach some of the bedrooms upstairs but friendly staff and easy on street access

Friendliest and most helpful staff in Ireland Made to feel welcome by all staff Lodgings and rooms are what you pay for and I slept well bed was fine and shower hot. I read a previous review complaining seriously do not stay in Hostels if your expecting 3 star.. Breakfast was good.... Highly recommended

We stayed in a private room in the Sugan hostel. The idea is very nice: the shire, lords of the rings, mordor,... And the staff is very friendly. The establishment however needs refurbishing. Rooms are very basic and not very clean. The common areas as well could use some fresh paint and new furniture. Strangely, we didn't really mind so... More

It is not what it looks like on the outside. The shower sprayed water all over the floor. I should not have to use a hair dryer to dry the floors! There is mould everywhere. Ceilings, washrooms, kitchen, kitchen utensils, counter tops... This place needs to be shut down by health inspectors. The redeeming quality and the reason why I... More

The sign in the bedroom states, "If you need anything call into the Shire, and the lads will help you out." True to form, the lads who work there were both charming! Kevin and Shane are the most helpful lads we've ever met. They carried our bags to our room, offered advice about the town, and even procured us coffee... More

Love the place. If anything they need more LOTR things in the pub! You can even read the books. Hostel is very traditional old timey looking Irish home. Buen ambiente, le falta más decoración del señor de los anillos por lo demás genial, la gente es muy amable. El hostel, es normal aunque no muy limpio. La situación es excelente.

As a Lord of the Rings fan having a bar called the Shire part of this place and it being LotR themed I thought "yeeesssss I need to stay here!!!" Very disappointed. Loud, crammed, wifi is no good, pub doesn't have food, in general rundown. The staff seem friendly enough. No way to get from common room or pub from... More

We stayed there for 3 nights. The location is great. The room was a small twin bedroom with very uncomfortable beds. The room and bathroom wasn't very clean. The hostel's bar is a great bar that also functioning as the hostel's reception. The staff are nice and friendly but there's no body to talk to in the morning.

I often stay in hostels around Ireland so I know exactly what they are like but this was below average. The room was an 8 bed but it was very small. There wasn't much space for bags etc and when it with strangers it's a bit too small. The room was dirty and the paint was peeling off the walls.... More
