Detailed Reviews
This was the best hostel i've ever seen! Very modern, clean, friendly and the beds were very comfortable. To be honest - it felt more like a hotel!
There aren't that many facilities here but that's to be expected from this sort of stay.

Was so surprised by this hostel it is excellent, very clean and safe. Staff very friendly and helpful. Felt more like a hotel than hostel. Kitchen facilities are excellent. Would definitely suit family travel around Ireland.

A basic hostel that does the job. 3 Lakes Hostel could seriously benefit from some renovations before the state of it continues to decline further. Carpets were stained, leak in the shower etc. Guest facilities like the lounge and dining room were overcrowded and would benefit from additional seating. I found it difficult to find any privacy while here. Though the hostel is conveniently located opposite a SuperValu, it is also basically on a roundabout and quite a distances walk from town. Travellers with a car would benefit more from this hostel than those on foot like myself. It is also important to remember when booking that 3 Lakes is also a budget hotel so at times, there are many young families staying. Not the atmosphere for solo travellers.

We've spend only 1 night in 3 lakes Hostel and we couldn't be more happy with accommodation.
Hostel is conveniently located across the street from Super Value (you can do you breakfast or dinner shopping), it has large common sitting area to relax ( you can watch your own Netflix on a large screen) and canteen. You're welcome to cook in the kitchen - all you're being asked is only to clean after yourself. Fair enough!
Breakfast is continental (cereals, toast, juice) so you need your own products for cooked breakfast.
We stayed in a family room with private bathroom but I believe most rooms have private bathrooms. Room was quite large, clean with fresh sheets, towels and basic toiletries in bathroom -what else would you need?
For a small charge you can also use washing machine and tumble dryer if you want, and if you get soaking wet you can dry your clothes on a string dryer above the bath.
All I would maybe recommend is to mount few hooks in the room to hang coats. It's not a biggie though.
Definitely will come back.

stayed here with 2 more when all else failed as Killarney was booked out with ROK and munster final. was a little sceptical about staying in a hostel as have not stayed in 1 previously, I was very pleasantly surprised that the hostel room was very clean and spacious with its own en suite. the staff were very friendly and couldn't do enough for us. This hostel is adjacent to hotel Killarney to which I stayed previously and we had the use of the leisure facilities. I would recommend anyone to stay here

I stayed in the 3 lakes hostel for one night as I love Killarney and I couldn't afford a hotel so we decided to try this new hostel.
There was nine of us three teenagers four adults and two children. We were given a large room with five sets of bump beds. The room was very clean and the bathroom was beautiful also. You could still smell the newness of the place.
The kitchen and the chill out area is fab. It caters for all ages.
The only thing is that there was no little table in the room which we felt we could have done with.
