Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.

Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Anna was the greatest hostess at Tara House. She made us fresh scones our last day and packed them up to take with us. She drove us to the Latin Quarter one rainy evening, so we wouldn't have to take a cab. She made us great breakfasts with fresh fruit and many additional choices each day. Our room was very clean and comfortable and quiet. She is truly exceptional. We had a great stay and hope to return some day.

Excellent b&b. Have stayed here several times over the years. The house is spotless and so comfy. Location is excellent to Salthill prom and to the city. A bus goes from outside the door into city.

Lovely b&b. Highly recommend to anyone staying in Galway.

We were two tired couples on motorcycles and were told of this place and so glad we searched it out. We were six days into our tour of ireland, now we are home i can say it is the best place we stayed in. The owners Michael and Anna were the most welcoming nicest people, nothing was too much trouble, if you wanted something they could supply it. We didnt want to stay in the busy Galway center so went to Salthill. Good decision. Salthill has the best pub ive been in, Oconners, and Lohans is good for food and wine that you buy from thier off licence next door.
When i go back to Galway i hope i can get in there, its excellant. Biker friendly and Anna on both breakfasts brought me baked beans, a rareaty in Ireland. Steve, Pat, Anthony and Anne.

Tara Housr is exactly what a BnB should be, an amazing welcome, you leave as friends!
Our room was spacious, what a relief to not have to bump into each other or the luggage, it was very clean, with a kettle, ironing board, hair dryer, bref, all you commodities might need.
Anna was such a lovely host, very charming. And so accommodating, we had to leave early for a Aran Island tour, and she cooked us breakfast earlier than she normally does!

A very nice stay!

This B&B was pricey, but very nice. Our host Anna fawned on us. Rooms were small, clean and cozy, and the full Irish breakfast was top notch. It is a short walk to the shops and restaurants and other action in Salthill.

We truly enjoyed our stay in Tara. Michael and Anna are warm and very friendly, you feel as if you are at home. The room was very spacious, extremely clean and affordable. Anna serves a gorgeous Irish breakfast that readies you for the day. I feel blessed to have stayed in their home and look forward to our next trip to Galway.

I've always thought that the best part of visiting Ireland was what I call the B&B experience. More than just a bed for the night and a meal in the morning. But being made welcome and to feel that you were visiting old friends. And feeling reluctant to leave. So if you want that experience, this is certainly the place to visit.
Walk to shops and restaurants.

In the Salthill area with bus stop outside. Not too far from town and within easy walking distance of pubs and eatieries of Salthill. We stayed in a spacious diouble room with good-sized ensuite. Anna, our hostess, was extremely helpful and friendly.

We recently stayed in this B&B not for the first time and were again really happy with our stay at Tara House. The rooms are spacious, spotlessly clean with all you require for your stay with a large comfortable bed, good shower, nice TV, tea & coffee etc. The breakfast you receive each morning is perfectly cooked and delicious. The thing that makes your stay at Tara House is of course Anna who is kind, friendly, approachable, helpful, cheerful and the list goes on. I do not think anyone could welcome you better. What I noticed is it was not just me who felt this way as I overheard guests complementing Anna throughout my stay. Not our first time to stay at Tara House and won't be our last. The location is also perfect for Salthill or Galway only a couple of minutes walk to both, also a bus stop located outside if you don't fancy the walk.

Myself, daughter Kellie and my mother Teresa arrived to a very warm welcome from Anna for a two night stay. Our room was downstairs just across from the dinning room which was so convenient for my 82yr mam. The room was very clean with all amenities and bus stop right outside the door. The breakfast is delicious with freshly made brown bread which we all loved. We will definitely be back again. This was Mam's fourth time back. She loves it so much.
