This b&b is a beautiful new building with surprise, surprise views of the Atlantic. Celine & Enda are wonderful hosts who went above & beyond. We were upgraded to an enormous bedroom which was very much appreciated given the mountain of biker gear we had. Stay here stunning b&b, stunning location & great hosts.
Was initially impressed by the exterior and location. That was it. The bed was totally uncomfortable, the owners non - existent, the host, if you call him that, was useless. Felt uncomfortable the whole time there. Breakfast, while good, was served by the host employee who smelled of bad Turkish cigarettes. There are very many B&Bs I the area. Check them out first
We were lucky to get the last vacancy and we were very pleased with our choice. The owner was very pleasant and helpful. The room was clean and warm. The bed comfortable. View of the Atlantic Ocean from our room. Breakfast was full traditional Irish, cooked to personal preference. Friendly owners. Would recommend.
Had a lovely stay this weekend. Room spotless. Staff so friendly. Very comfortable. Fabulous ocean view from our room. Perfect base for visiting the area. Salthill has lots to offer also. Great restaurants and pubs.
We stayed here two nights at the beginning of our visit to Ireland and were very pleased with the rooms, the views of the ocean and the cliffs and the cattle right out our windows, and the easy walk to the little town and to the ferry to the Aran Islands. I would certainly return here for the peace and quiet and the views.
We paid for two nights for a family room and only stayed one. Employee not owners never greeted us but quickly had us sign the payment authorization THEN took us up upstairs and immediately left. No one asked us how we liked our room and when we left early, no one asked if there was a problem or why we were leaving when we paid for two nights. I felt as though they already knew. Wish I had taken more pics to show the dismal breakfast that we didn't even stay for. Little refrigerator in room had an open Red Bull drink in it, cigarette butt in corner, stained rug, old, VERY DATED furniture, outlet issues, no soap or shampoo in bathroom for shower, that also had a lot of mold in door, tv would not work for us and remote missing back side to it, and in all honesty, the general appearance of the lodge was unkept. They don't have enough parking, which required us to park on the street (albeit a dead end), and we had no view at all except of a house next door. The water is not directly across the street and when we did walk to it, it did not look as though shown on their advertisements. Ended up leaving and going to another hotel. Additionally, the hotel is quite a hike to Galway but going the other way to town, manageable. Be forewarned- this place is a tourist trap, imo.…
I stayed with my partner and our two daughters wasn’t the cleanest and we had breakfast but there was hairs on the food which made us all sick just looking at it the, woman who checked us in wasn’t a bit nice would never ever stay here again.
Stayed here for a week and thought the place was lovely, really pleasant staff who go out of there way to help. Would recommend to a family looking to for a nice place to stay, a ten minute walk from the heart of galway and right on the Prom
We were taken in by the 8.5 score on Booking.com, we really should have looked a little deeper. This is B&B that seems to be a shadow of it's former self. The positives - Location, sea view, balcony for some rooms. The negatives... Things started badly at check in. We were checked in by intercom - there was no sign of anyone in the building, we were given the code for the door and told which room to was ours. The room was OK, nicely decorated, we had a balcony, and a sea view. The bed wasn't particularly comfortable. The bathroom was shabby and dated, and really wasn't very well fitted - there were very slippery wall tiles on either side of the shower tray that you couldn't really avoid standing on due to the way the shower door opened. The shower itself was dreadful - you could either have warm (not hot) water, or water pressure, you couldn't have both. During the time we stayed, nothing was replenished - I had to go and ask for toilet paper - even though the seemingly sole employee claimed to have been in our room 10 minutes earlier. We never had breakfast there - we went into Salthill and ate. On the Saturday when we checked out, there was no sign at all of any staff, or breakfast on offer. We left out keys on the hall table, together with the keys of everyone else who had checked out. In short, we wouldn't stay there again.…
Not really great, they make you feel a bit unwelcome. Not that clean but not terrible Shower wasn’t great It feels like a family business but they are a bit tired of it. They were not in when we arrived, I had to be calling in order to be able to pay them and it was like I was annoying then. Very small town family business, if you like it, go for it.
