We recently went to a dinner dance here. On arrival the staff were very friendly and this continued throughout the night. There was a set menu on which was very tasty. Most of us had the beef. Maybe we are used to having beef well done as a couple found theirs a bit too rare - Mine was well done...

Arrived at this elegant hotel overlooking Eyre Square Galway, to a welcoming smile and lovely warm fire. Our room was ready even though we arrived early. The rooms are very comfortable and cosy. That evening we had a lovely meal in the Hotel restaurant. After 2 late nights in the town we had full Irish breakfast in bed which was...

We booked a 1 night dine and stay package. As you pull up the hotel looks impressive. Our room was not ready when we got here which was fine we put in our bags and went for a walk. When we came back the room was ready we were on the 5th floor. This is when things started to go...

We had a great time in Galway and the hotel played a big part. The staff from check in to checkout were brilliant. We had a meal in Gaslight Bar Saturday and my daughter wanted something that we had seen on the lunch menu. The staff made no fuss and made it for her even though it was not evening...

The Meyrick has a great location- on Eyre Square beside the railway station and right in the city centre. In the vernacular, it's "a relic of auld decency". Indeed it was the Railway Hotel, then the Great Southern (despite being in the West). The ashlar limestone front is wonderful- just don't look at the hideous rear appendages. The reception area...

Although the location is great, the hotel rooms are dated, and in need of an upgrade. We felt our room was hugely unwelcoming and the bathroom although clean was not up to standard at all.
