Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

What a wonderful place - everything was first class - from the warm welcome, the down duvet, the décor and what a fantastic breakfast! The view from the dining room is beautiful - can't wait for my next visit to Salthill.

My girlfriend and I had a few days to spend in Galway and we stayed at the Claremount House for two nights. It was a great place- great breakfast in the morning and we got great advice on where to go. I would highly recommend this B&B for tourists or anyone passing through. Thank you for a great stay!!

We stayed at Claremount House recently for 2 nights. We found everything very satisfactory. Our host was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good and the rooms spotless. The bedding was luxurious -with big fluffy quilts and comfy pillows. Some people make a big thing in reviews about the petrol station next door but it really doesn't effect the b & b at all. Our room was at the back of the house and very quiet. Our friends were in the front room and they also found it quiet. We were surprised that tea and coffee wasn't available in the rooms but we obviously overlooked this in our research. Having said this our host was happy to make us a cuppa when we came in after dinner one night. We recommend this venue to anyone.

If selecting this B&B, bear in mind that the tripadvisor map does not currently show the correct location - this needs to be fixed as it is misleading - we expected to be easy walking distance from Galway city centre but instead paid an average of €10 each way in a taxi to go into town. The map shows the location being on the Seapoint Promenade, but the B&B is in fact 30 minutes walk further out from the city than that - great perhaps if you want to be based on that side of the city depending on your sightseeing plans. If you look up the Spinnaker hotel, that gives a more accurate reflection of the location as it is across the road from that. The room was relatively small but immaculately clean and with quality comfortable beds and a great breakfast. We found it to be a bit cold at times, but we were there during pretty bad weather.

Comfortable, clean room, delicious breakfast in a room with grand view of Galway Bay. We were so comfortable there we extended our stay to three nights. We felt like Anna went out of her way to make us feel at home. She made reservations for us to catch the bus to the Aran Island Ferry, gave us tips for restaurants for dinner and pointers about the area. We felt like we were leaving an old friend when it was time to go.

We had a truly lovely stay at Claremount House. The owner, Anna, had her hands full with her own large family and their schedules, but that didn't in any way stop her from putting her guests first. The room was lovely and immaculate and we truly felt welcome.

My boyfriend and I went to Ireland for St. Pats and stayed in Dublin. When we went to the west coast, I wanted to experience 'real' Ireland so we decided to stay at a B and B. We went by reviews just like you and were so happy with the Claremount House. Owned by Steve and Anna who have a young daughter who got involved with baking brown bread for people who stay. They were awesome. Gave us tips on where to go, helped us with taxis and made the best full Irish breakfast. Rooms and bed were clean and just what you need since you're not spending much time in the room. Restaurants aren't too far to walk and town was about a 10 minute drive. There is a pub directly across the street which was perfect too. The buses that do tour groups were willing to bring us directly to the hotel which was a big deal since taxis are somewhat pricey. Enjoy the stay and bring a raincoat : )
