We stayed for two nights in this excellent B&B. The hosts Anna and Steven made us feel at home the minute we stepped in. What's more, they are fun people to talk to and get to know. The rooms are very clean, the breakfast is outstanding. A short walk brought us to the promenade along the sea. We took a bus to Galway town center avoiding the hassle of find parking. Bus stops near Claremount House. We would very much recommend Claremount House to anybody visiting Galway.
We spent 4 nights in this lovely B and B, and were sad when it came time to leave Anna and Steve. Anna greeted us warmly, with a cuppa and snack. Her breakfasts were lovely; it was the best brown bread I had our entire stay. It’s a great location - you can walk along the promenade in Salthill toward Galway or easily hop a bus. Spotless, comfortable, friendly, helpful. Highly recommend. ***Book directly with Anna rather than go through a third party booking. And have at least one brew at Oslo’s; great staff and food.
The room was clean and quiet, the breakfast was filling and delicious (especially the fresh berries and scones), and the location is convenient. It is not in the middle of Galway but is walking distance to Salthill restaurants. We stayed two nights and tried the nearby golf course restaurant the first night. Great food there. Ann welcomed us with tea and/or coffee when we first arrived and we eventually met the entire family so we really did feel at home. Ann and her husband were able to give us excellent advice on places to see and routes to get there.
We enjoyed our stay here very much. Ann was very welcoming and greeted us with coffee and biscuits on arrival. Once we had settled in she showed us to our room which was upstairs and had a lovely view of her back garden. Everything was sparkling clean and the breakfasts were great with generous portions of everything you could want. Claremont is outside of the main centre of Galway - maybe 15-20 minutes by car - but we had our own transport and enjoyed the experience of living in a "real place" in Ireland as the B and B is set in a cul-de-sac in the outer suburbs of Galway and the neighbours waved to us when we took a trip into the city centre which was really lovely.
Galway is a beautiful city and a don't miss for a walkabout, shopping and pick a pub for a pint or two. Anne is a terrific host and provided us with excellent options to visit during our short stay. The accommodation is very good with excellent beds and a very nice breakfast with homemade breads. Anne keeps everything super clean and we'd stay here again. The bus ride back from town is the 402 west and stop at Joyce's grocery store. Thanks Anne 😊 Happy Canadians
Stayed in Claremount House for one night bed and breakfast, house situated close to caravan park in salthill, spotlessly clean, comfy beds, super breakfast. Anna dropped us to salthill as it was raining. Would highly reccommend.
Very helpful and unbelievable kind hosts. Good location near a beautiful beach area of Galway just outside of the main area of town. Nice breakfast We stay here again in a minute. Highly recommended.,
Very nice to place stay, rooms are clean with nice décor and comfortable beds, with a good sized ensuite shower room, not forgetting a wonderful view I was with a group of four other bikers and we were very well received considering that we arrived late ( around 8.50pm). Not having had dinner we asked our host Anna to recommend some where to eat, and she kindly suggested a pub not to far away. She phoned the place, got us a table and ordered a taxi for us all, after quick shower etc taxi arrived and one of our group ( who has to look the part with power and aftershave) missed it.!! Anna the owner kindly give him a lift to the pub where the food and Guinness was first class. We wanted an early start so Anna and her husband very kindly got up early to make breakfast ready…
Don't usually take time to write reviews, but I was blown aways by this charming bed and breakfast. Right on the beach, and a short walk from Salt Hill Promenade and the Galway pubs and downtown, this little family run B and B was charming, clean, and very relaxing. The proprietor Anna, made me feel like I was in the home of my own mother, with great food, advice on fun activities around Galway, and a truly giving nature. I stayed there alone, but Im sure it would be a great place for a romantic getaway, or a family trip, as it is right across from one Irelands most lovely beaches. The included breakfast, of your choosing was generous, with high quality breads, fruit, and meat. Also if your an animal lover, you might get a chance to glimpse Anna's two lovely, quiet,…
“Anna and Steven were the quintessential hosts of their exceptionally beautiful, clean, neat, and truly the best accommodations we have experienced in Ireland so far. (Not to mention most reasonably priced.) Many little details were not forgotten, on us: the panoramic view...overlooking the golf course overlooking the water; The food, the amazing Irish Breakfast could not have been improved on. The kindness of Anna and Steven will be remembered for some time. Cheers to all who stay at the Claremount House B&B! PS-the meal in the picture I took is already partially eaten, it has several delights sure to warm your spirit. (Fresh blueberries, strawberries, kiwis, tangerines, bananas, cereals, exquisite teas, and more. Not to forget the freshly baked pastries.”
