Stayed in Western Hotel just a week ago for two nights nd had a very positive experience. We had two days of hospital appointments and I asked for a nice room to which came the lovely reply "We will give you one of the nicest rooms in the hotel" which they did and this was a great start. We had a very positive experience and ate dinner in the bar both nights. Food was excellent. Breakfast was great and very reasonably priced at 12 eu and all staff were extremely pleasant. Parking is such a huge plus just off Eyre Square. The hotel seems to have got a lovely make over since I stayed there two years ago and I would highly recommend it. Thank you to alll. I will be back very soon! Mary Kearns
Myself and two friends stayed for two nights in February and going forward wouldn't stay anywhere else. The room was spotless, food was excellent but above all the staff were all fantastic. They couldn't have been more helpful and friendly. Onsite parking is an extra bonus. Love The Western Hotel ❤
Fabulous breakfast you couldn't fault it and Rowena and the staff were so cheerful and friendly you couldn't help but leave in a positive mood. Very central for buses to and from the hospital and for the shops etc. We will definitely be back. Rachel and Gerry
Have to say this little bar is a hidden gem in the city. Nice selection of food and the bar staff are so welcoming and friendly. Had a pork belly dinner. Drink selection where great and good Guinness . I wish I got the name of the staff that where working on Thursday 19th but it was 2 guys and a girl. I will be back again. Do not miss this spot.
Rowena was the jewel in the crown, what an asset to the team, excellent communication skills, helpful, welcoming, friendly and informative. The apartment was top notch, although the couches could do with upgrading, bathrooms and bedrooms and kitchen all good, apartment excellent, great view of Eyre Sqr. and Galway Bay, will be back pg.
The staff was friendly and the bed was comfortable. The only thing that bothered me was the security of the hotel at night, and especially going there alone in the dark was scary when you're still dragging a big suitcase behind you. The Eyre square is no longer safe at night and the street leading to the hotel was also suspicious. (drunks, drugged up shouting in the street in the morning..) Of course it's not the hotel's fault, but maybe I would have felt safer if there was someone near the door guarding.
Just back from 2 night stay in Western Hotel, Lovely spacious room and bathroom. Wonderful breakfast , one of the best I've had in an Irish hotel in a long time. I found the staff very friendly and helpful, Would recommend this hotel to anyone considering a break in Galway. Will use it anytime i'm in Galway again.
We stayed in Galway for 3 days and it was gorgeous! We arrived at the hotel and found the parking not the best but it wasn’t bad! When we got into the hotel we felt very welcomed and booked dinner for that night. When we got to our room it was very modern and very comfortable. We would definitely return again! When we went for dinner in the restaurant the drinks were fine however the food wasn’t up to much! Something I found which was lovely was the added snacks of popcorn, crisps, drinks etc in the room even though you did have to pay extra. I loved the bathroom in the hotel… I wish I had this bathroom at home! Generally very clean and tidy. Galway was very busy and very warm while we were there so we didn’t get up to too much as it was so warm but most cafes and restaurants were full so we had McDonald’s the other 2 nights. Overall a lovely hotel and worth the money!…
I stayed in the Western Hotel for one night. I stayed here because it was situated to every place in Eyre Square where I needed to go to. I checked into the hotel at 3 pm the man behind the desk was so nice and kind sorry I don’t no your name but you where very kind. I checked into my room it was lovely clean I can’t complaint at all the room was lovely and warm. I slept soundly. I had a meal with my sister it was gorgeous I had the fish. The waiting staff where lovely and kind. Thank you so much. I will definitely be back
Firstly booked this place and needing car parking ...arrived and no space ...if I was told that first come first serve on spaces I'd have either stayed else where or came early.. My main reason on this is I was charged for a treat from the box in the room that we didn't touch out of ...reason been is the expensive price on the stuff .. a bag of taytos nearly double than what there in a shop ....rip off to the customer .. I got charged for something I didn't eat...maybe it was one of the staff .. Room 408 ..won't return
